I’ve only visited Italy once, but I would never spend 20+ euros for a meal when I could get some mind blowing carbonara for a lower cost.

They are better than Shake Shack. Especially the fries. Shake Shack is a cheap knock off of a chain called Schoop's, which INVENTED the smash burger back in the mid 40s.
i recently finished a vacation from Italy, and I had several good restaurant meals for a similar price as 5 guys. Skip them and hit your closest hole in the wall, and thank me later.

The first time I tried Five Guys was in Italy (in Portugal we don't have it) and let me tell you... until this day, that's the best burger and fries I've ever tried 😅

As an ex employee it’s so overrated and not worth the value unless you legit want every topping. Also the best shake tho is a peanut butter carmel bacon with 1 pump of chocolate it’s a butter finger milk shake and it’s amazing!

five guys is beyond over rated and the price doesn't match the sub par product. They scoop a random amount of fries into the bag so you think you're getting more. When you are always getting less, and its there way of over charging. They could easily solve this with standard size portions, but doesn't cause everyone thinks they're getting more when they shovel a few fries in the bag.

When you can have a sit down meal for less than that price, it makes you realise how expensive it is.
On the flip side, it also shows how much good quality ingredients really cost and so how many corners are being cut for other burger chains
