      Yeah, the F-117 hasn't flown since Clinton.... It's an obsolete aircraft and will never fly again. The stealth capabilities lead to future development, but the planes aren't even at the Boneyard. A portion of the fleet is still at Holoman AFB, and they are sent to the missle range and some are in Yuma as ground targets on mock air strips for pilots to practice. There's only a few in museums and many exhibits just have landing gears as the joke "stealth plane"

    • @thor6319
      @thor6319 2 месяца назад +4

      And that vapor cone on that fighter flyby was NOT the aircraft breaking the speed of sound. Not that close to the ground and people, either. Get your facts straight.

    10:06 - That is a pressure cone caused by compressing moisture in the air during transonic speed. It is not from "breaking the sound barrier".

    I'm an ex Royal Navy missile aimer / gunner and we used to do exercises with different planes. When the exercise was over the planes would do a fly by down one side of the ship at a lower level than the deck. Depending on the plane you could see into the cockpit! My favorite was the A10 Warthog as it flew the slowest.

      A-10! A-10! Great plane and it is truely stealthy. One popped up from behind some trees in the UK as I was riding a horse. Until it came from behind the trees, I couldn’t hear it and my horse hadn’t reacted to it being there.

    That F35 was not breaking the sound barrier. If it was, the people on the ground would have bleeding ears. That effect is due to the high content of water vapor in the atmosphere

    NOT THE SOUND BARRIER, it's the Vapor Cone. You can not do a sound barrier in Mach near Civilans, you will never fly again. That is a World Wide thing, by the way. They have designated areas where people are safe for them around the world.

    I had the opportunity to co-pilot a small twin engine plane and the pilot says look out ur window and tell me if that engine is running and I saw the prop come to a stop! So I said "NO"!!! He acted like he couldn't get it started and we were going down! Eventually he flipped a switch and it fired right up. I didn't find the joke as funny as he did. Also both my mother and my sister jumped out of the side door as it was a skydiving plane. I wasn't about to jump out of a perfectly good plane so I went for moral support and they offered me to co-pilot the plane for $20! It was definitely worth it! 😂

    6:56 That occasion only happens when the engine is little to low to the ground. And it can also make it look like if there was a whirlpool. An-225 was only the largest by how much weight it could carry. But sadly it got shot down by 2 Russian fighters in 2022, in the war of Russia and Ukraine. Ow the world's largest by Wing span is the Strato Launch.

    The Americans may have produced the first test vertical takeoff aircraft but the British Harrier Jump Jet was the first aircraft to perfect the technology. It was that good at its job the American Marines licensed it from the UK to make it their preferred aircraft after they saw how good it performed in the Falkland war back in 1981.
    Also the boat the boarded the Chinook in the water has been done by British Marines and the SBS & SAS were also known for doing this technique since I believe the 1970’s.
    I’m also glad to have seen a British cold war Handley Page Victor being shown in this montage 😊as it was one of the 3 V bombers which include the Vickers Valiant and Avro Vulcan (However the Avro Vulcan is the most recognised British Bomber as it was used in 007’s film Thunderball.

    Hydrolocking aviation motors: That wasn't hydrolocking, but propeller impact. Also, just about every radial engine is technically hydrolocked when it hasn't been run for the last few hours! Part of the pre flight is emptying all the oil from the bottom cylinder so that you don't damage the engine on turnover! That is what hydrolocking is exactly. It doesn't have to be water accidentally pulled into a drowned engine. It's any non-compressible fluid in any cylinder for any reason. Unless the shaft of the radial engine is vertical, you'll always have one (or two) bottom cylinders filling up with oil over time. Because gravity.
    Edit: Filling up over time when not running. When running, the oil pump will move the oil to whereit needs to be...

    I'm definitely not a fan of flying, partialy because of motion sickness & severe ear pain accompanied by the pain in my back & neck due to fibromyalgia & those crappy airline seats. That being said, my ex BIL was a helicopter pilot & when you realize that you cannot parachute to safety like if you were jumping out of say a small private plane or military aircraft. There's only expert training, hours of flying experience, nerves of steel mixed with some good luck if your helicopter malfunctions. Mad respect for helicopter pilots.
