- One man was stuck hanging upside down for 40 minutes following a bungee jump at a California fair Wednesday. The jump at the Ventura County Fair malfunctioned, leaving 19-year-old Roger Rodriguez stuck and terrified, dangling by his feet. Ride operators couldn't pull him back up to the cage and they also couldn't lower him to the ground. "My veins were popping out everywhere. I was scared I was going to start seeing blood come out of my nose and ears," he told Inside Edition. #InsideEdition

The park was smart... Accepting the refund is basically a contract. When you admit to accepting the refund your basically calling it fair and square.. Don't accept it and sue them.

I have been going to this fair for years (I'm 20-30 minutes away at most), and have watched it so many times. Quite surprised that it didn't happen sooner.
wow my first time at the Ventura County Fair was when I was 19. Only been on the amusement park rides one time in 2014 at 22. Another example why my father was strongly dissuading me from bungee jumping even more than skydiving & carnival rides. Would check records of failures at certain skydiving locations & carnival rides, & malfunctions. Especially with bungee jumping since with the other example, they measure platform to ground WITHOUT LENGTH OF PERSON.
I've been upside down hanging from my feet by my dad before and almost choked after 7 or 8 minutes when I was 6 ( It was an accident, he didn't hear me ) but this is NOTHING compared to what this guy had to go through, imagine the blood being at your head for THAT long.

I went bunjee jumping at a place very similar to this. I had a blast, but even with the short time I was up there, the blood rushed to my head. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that would be.

I'll never do that, even if it were free. I saw the cord momentarily being wrapped around someone's neck while they were bouncing back up. Thankfully it came undone before they started descending again or else they would've strangled or their neck would've snapped.
