Is your iPad updated to iOS 14? Fonts can stilled be installed on the iPad and used in the same Apple apps as before. How third-party apps access custom fonts has changed with the new update. Not all third-party apps have released updates to fix their own issues with custom fonts (GoodNotes, as of Sep 22)-- some have (Noteshelf, for example)! :)
does this mean my fonts won't be downloaded into GoodNotes until the issue is resolved? :(

I opened the font directly with procreate and it automatically installed it, thats all i needed. Thanks for the tip
Awesome! If you download fonts as profiles on the iPads, you'll be able to access that font in more places than just Procreate, which is why I show this method.

You can on the computer, if you download fonts. Don't think you can on the iPad, unfortunately. Hopefully soon though if not already!

Thank you! Great video. So once you’ve gone through the steps of installing, can you delete the files in your downloads folder?
Yes you can! I generally keep mine because if you switch/upgrade devices, you'll have to repeat the process. For some reason, the backup doesn't save downloaded fonts like that. If you have favorite fonts you want to keep for future use, I'd recommend saving them!

Brilliant video, THANK YOU!! I was having no end of trouble trying to get Powerpoint for iPad to open a presentation and allow me to edit, but I eventually figured out it was because I didn't have the requisite Microsoft fonts installed on my iPad (even though they work fine on my Mac). I followed your video to install the right fonts on my iPad (sourced from a Windows work PC), and viola, all works perfectly now. Very grateful :)

Thanks for responding! I got it to work in Procreate. I had to let it appear twice to have it show the right style.
But i used in shortcut. Only tapped the zipfile. And in Procreate i chose that TTF and thats it. No need to install on iPad in this case.

I'm glad you got it to work! A lot of apps will work great by copying directly into other apps, and sometimes you'll have to do this if the app doesn't search for custom fonts in the profiles hardware of the iPad (what we're are doing in the video to download these fonts). Procreate actually does! So, you can "open in" the font to send directly to Procreate or you can download custom fonts as shown in the video and Procreate will recognize them when you go to create text. I hope this helps anyone who comes across these issues in the comments!

If y’all are having trouble because of the new update I recommend you to go to GoodNotes Twitter and a request iFont for iOS 14

Yes, if you go into the Settings app on your iPad, you can find something called "Profiles Downloaded," which will allow you to delete individual things you've downloaded.

Oh no! Maybe drop what went wrong in the comments and I can try to help you troubleshoot? Just make sure your iPad is fully updated to the new OS software too!

Some of them come with little extra swirls and stuff but it never shows up for me when I use the font, any way to fix this and put the swirls?
You'll need to check the glyphs map of the font you've downloaded. It will tell you what keyboard keys to press to get those extra glyphs.

Can an imported font be used in emails and notes app on an iPad
Not sure about emails, but the fonts can be used in traditional Apple apps. I mainly use the fonts in Keynote and the downloaded apps like GoodNotes.

You should be able to, but you won't be able to download more fonts in the future without it. I like using it to see and manage my fonts as well.
