    Although the canned salmon is cheaper than the tuna, we enjoy it more. The salmon is used like tuna and we think it is more flavorful and it does not expire in our cupboard like the tuna might. Try it sometime. We add it to salads, fettucine alfredo, noodle casseroles, stir fries, etc.

    The problem with the non-organic flour is that they literally soak all the nonorganic wheat in glyphosate a few days before harvesting “for a more uniform harvest”. Also ground flour does go rancid and becomes carcinogenic after a fairly short period of time making the shelf life not great. It’s worth investing in a grain grinder and a 50 pound bag of wheat berries for prepping. wheat berries keep for much longer in the proper conditions and in the prepping situation - you’ll have time to grind them before making bread!

      we bought a box freezer at home depot a few years ago and I just did a video on my channel showing how i get maximum storage out of it. I'm not a prepper,I just had so much extra meat and bread because we go to publix and they have a ton of buy one get one free,I had no space so I am in a condo and we put the freezer in a large closet we have,works beautiful,and it was at the time under $200. good luck ,I love it.

    You have a quiet Costco where you live. The Costco warehouses here in DC area are always super crowded starting from the parking lot and when you get inside, it looks like the crowd during panic buying before the Covid lockdown or Black Friday. So annoying!

    Brown and white rice have arsenic. Choose the organic quinoa instead with protein and other healthier nutrients.

      White basmati rice has considerably low arsenic and rinsing the rice before hand makes the amount negligible - huge population of healthy people, eat rinsed white rice daily and do not suffer from any ill effects of arsenic. That being said, the precooked packaged rice contains levels of PFAS from processing and packaging that make it not worth it imo. Rice is so easy and fast to cook - the pre-cooked rice makes less sense than bottled lemonade to me 😂

    • @kd1g130
      @kd1g130 Месяц назад

      I prefer no arsenic, lower levels do not impress me. Any toxins are not worth the toxicity. These things can build up in your body organs.
      Choose higher nutrients like organic quinoa
      Which do contain protein fiber and multiple B vitamins.

      @@ahomesteadjourney Wife and I made several bottles. What we learned. Use more vanilla beans than what a recipe calls for. Our first batch was a little weak. Use a strong vodka 90 to 100 proof. And say 16oz bottle, calls for about 4 to 6 vanilla beans. Use minimum of 6. Cut the beans open, allowing for the inside to be fully exposed. Place in your jar. Put in a very dark closet. Be sure to shake the jar at least once every 2 weeks. Unfortunately, this process will take a minimum of 18 months before the vanilla is ready to use. Some people use different flavors of whisky and bourbons. I prefer just plain old 100% vodka. These make for good Christmas presents, but you have to prepare way, way in advance.
