The caveat to this is of course: only if the food is stored airtight and away from heat/direct sunlight. You would think this would go without saying, but people are people.
Not true!!!! Please google “does ghee go bad” Ghee does last a long time but it most certainly will expire… it is made with dairy fats. And it will not last forever- please don’t tell anyone else that falsehood. Most store bought ghee lasts longer than homemade ghee as the big companies that make it take out most milk solids, but eventually ghee will expires. Experts tell folks to watch for signs like off taste, hairy green stuff growing on it. Ghee can last (on your counter) around 6 months after opening the container. After opening, It will last about 6 months longer if cooled in the refrigerator. So after opening it - about a year if cooled. Ghee that is still sealed will last at least 2-3 years if stored properly after the Best Buy date… until it is opened.
I always put a sack of rice and beans in my freezer chest for 3 to 5 days before putting them in Mylar bags. I’ve never experienced weevils before and don’t plan on it.
Plain, White, Distilled Vinegar In addition to cleaning, please know this extremely important tip: When a body gets sunburn, there is a chemical reaction happening in the skin. Even after getting out of the sun and bathing, the skin continues to burn. The application of PWD Vinegar will stop/neutralize that chemical reaction. A good southern grandmother might say, "it takes the heat out so you can sleep," and technically, she would be right. 😎

raw honey starts to crystallize ... just reheat. I noticed you have your honey in a plastic bottle, please put in a glass jar so you can heat to melt the crystals. Quinoa is a great protein grain! Will take on the taste of what you cook it in! My Dog is diabetic. She gets cooked quinoa, chicken, and her Special Kibble. Plus a dollop of fat free Greek Yogurt. And a sprinkle of Nutritional Yeast
Local honey from your area is great for localized allergies which is a big problem here in Texas. I get the ones from my county and it works great. I have found that if I make my beans, without soaking them, helps with the problem of gas. I have learned that the soaking method can cause the beans to lose the enzymes that is naturally occurring. When the beans lose the enzymes that’s where you can get gas because it’s not able to breakdown the beans. I have found making the dried beans in bulk and freeze them makes it easier to store and use them, and I add different spices to them as I make them.
Thanks for the video. One point of clarification is that cane sugar would be better than white sugar for your health and it does not go rancid, nor does brown sugar. Oil containing products can go rancid over time in the presence of oxygen (whole grains, brown rice etc.) and sugars do not contain oils but rather have some molasses intact. All natural sugars are forever foods if stored properly.
Powdered milk is a great option to store long term and reconstitutes well! Just be sure that is has zero fat in it, that way it's shelf stable for years! Freeze dried eggs are great as well if you can get them. For an egg substitute, I like using flaxseeds! Look up/google 'flaxseed egg equivalent' for info. As for oil substitutes, I've heard of people using just plain water. I've never tried it in a baking type recipe though...
You hit all the highlights! Great list. Just some of my own personal thoughts: I'm personally counting on my INSTANT COFFEE stockpile to keep me sane and everyone around me "safe" during a prolonged emergency situation. lol - only just kind of kidding! SALT used to be a form of currency, so you can never have enough in my opinion because all those preppers who ONLY stocked rice and beans will BEG for a little seasoning, and Sodium is a critical electrolyte - but be sure to stock both iodized and natural varieties for those long term situations. Iodine is a necessary mineral that isn't easy to get in the modern diet - don't worry, everyone will be fine - you can get it mostly from seafood (oysters, tinned salmon, fish (including squid and crab), and seaweed/kelp, but also through dairy products (milk and eggs are good sources), fortified bread, and some fruits and vegetables - but you have live by the ocean, raise cows and chickens, or grow a diverse garden on the homestead. BE CAUTIOUS - Excessive iodine intake can cause thyroid problems, so it’s crucial to consume iodine-rich foods and supplements in moderation, but you have to eat A TON of these over a really long time to have significant health problems. VINEGAR is amazing! Super healthy, and a great natural cleansing agent. 1 tbsp Mix 1 cup of water with 1 cup of white vinegar in a spray bottle for a natural and effective cleaner. Mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar with 1 cup of water as a final rinse after shampooing to balance pH and remove build-up. It removes stains, reduces odors, kills weeds and insects, and even removes rust from cast iron (so when you find that rusted-out Dutch oven or skillet at the next garage sale for $1, grab it!). You can also make your own vinegar at home! BAKING SODA is one of those things that people overlook too often and does just about everything (like vinegar!)
We have to have iodine in our bodies, so i would look into a supplement if none in your salt..unless thats all benn a lie..lol. keeping LTS items you may not use a lot of can be used for bartering if needed just have baggies available for portioning. You can make brown sugar from white sugar and molasses.

Yes, freezing rice (both cooked and uncooked) won’t affect the flavor or texture if stored correctly.
