Besides the massive changes and improvements we were expecting with Build 42, even with the limited initial feature rollout which I think was more to get the mechanics and framework out there than anything, I have to say I'm utterly blown away but the incredible amount of small details and Quality of Life additions I'm seeing that I was absolutely NOT expecting!! I know it might sound a bit cliche but for me it's almost like having a brand new game again, I'm sure I'm not alone in that I was feeling some trepidation to starting a fresh vanilla run again after being so used to the wealth of amazing mods we have, but this update feels to me like experiencing the vanilla game for the first time but WITH all those QOL mods as basegame features, the joy of (re)discovering! Looking forward to the next 10 days and more B42 excitement, cheers mate!!
only thing thats deeply annoying is that you have to do more clicks for many things, but mods will fix that soon enough. Unfortunately i have massive performance issues with b42 but i cant wait to play it when its fixed
I appreciate seeing the settings menu in-depth. I’ve been hesitating to buy the game because zombies freak me out but I am obsessed with watching all the videos I can (yes my brain doesn’t make sense 😂). I also have high anxiety and panic easily, so seeing that I can make the game easier is so helpful. Now I definitely want to buy it after Christmas is over. Thank you!!
Embrace the panic. Half the fun of the game is being scared and discovering things. Once you get confident, it becomes mildly less enjoyable. Until over confidence gets you killed and then you go back to being scared ans having nothing.
I have general anxiety and autism so I will get easily overwhelmed or anxious in a lot of games. I wouldn't say PZ is a game that will trigger anything at all. I would say the fact that u can pause and that it's an isometric game really helps. So I am sure you can try it out. It is really a lot of fun. To avoid that panic thought I recomend u to go sandbox and turn of infection. That really freaks me out 😅
oh that new skills menu made me so happy. that's gonna be so nice~ same with the crafting menu. personally, i don't mind the new moodles for the most part. my only issue with them beyond needing to adjust is that the edges just look a bit.... off. something about them seems a little rough idk. the muscle strain is gonna be a pain, but i can appreciate it forcing people to play more carefully, so i kinda like it. overall, im liking what i see~ maybe i'll put aside my unstable build reservations and mess around in it after all ^•^
it was the intent they were going for muscle strain, but default rate just makes it so much annoying to deal with, i recommend to lower the rate or outright disable it in sandbox settings cause you'll be sitting at houses because you can't kill a single zombie swiftly
I’m so happy that we finally have build 42 but I really wish they made infections more of a challenge then they are, like they have a small chance of being lethal without proper treatment
I would think that someone such as yourself, who plays this game professionally, would really enjoy the new systems and content more than most. This has to be a breath of fresh air.

I almost danced when i saw i could turn off the light needed to see map, i really feared that change since i suck at finding my way around 😂 i do like it for books tho Also wanted to mention that i really appreciate that you didnt pick the new spot as spawn but rosewood, gave us a chance to see how the good old town looks so se can see the changes and stuff like that! 33:00 I also noticed zombies have keys, But usually its from a house/building or car nearby. Unless the zombie wonderes for miles you should be alright with finding the house/car its used for. I dont think a riverside zombie will carry a louisville key or whatever XD
I watched your PZ videos when you first started posting them. I liked PZ but I had to sell my PC for financial reasons and kind of lost interest in the game and videos for various reasons. Good to see that your channel has grown.
a big tip for those using build 42 do NOT pick prone to illness and smoker together. you will end up sick all the time. a great pick is high metabolism and the one that makes you eat more. yeah you eat a lot more but with the high metabolism you basically cant get over weight. also do note that with a single sheet you can make a bag that has a carry weight of 15. so a single curtain can instantly become a bag for you right from the start. you can also untie said bag once you find a proper one. hopefully this helps someone out

I found that out when I right-clicked on one by mistake and quickly ended up with magazines strapped to my arms and legs. Also, I'm pretty sure you missed a few saws in the garages and basements you were in earlier. 32:16 Has anyone worn those 3d glasses yet? Considering how other glasses work, and the alcohol effect, it's possible that wearing them makes everything look slightly blurred with a green-red tinge.
You should go to the tall buildings. Do a run where you start on top of it. And a run where you invade it from the bottom. Try to clean the whole building in both runs.

I had made statements about muscle strain from my playing before watching this video. I noticed your statements about the weapon skills with fatigue. I didn't know it was this way now. 41 weapon skills only affected swing speed, damage, crit chance, and pushing actions. Because fatigue is now tied to weapon skills I think it's a dev planned battle that gets easier and makes you want to stay with weapons you know. Having the exp at X2 I think you may level out of it sooner.
Heh, its like being back at the start of when I first began watching videos on the game. There is SO MUCH STUFF to do in the game! Its a bit overwhelming. But yeah, to do everything new and experience it all, thats gonna be a very long term game it looks like. I mean, this first ten was just learning to deal with muscle strain really. The crafting system looks super involved, and all the new things to learn how to do will take a long time to get through mastering. Im sure after a series or two it will go back to almost normal where you focus on a couple areas, like say, animal care and farming, while ignoring trapping and fishing or vice versa but doing it all? Thats a huge time investment. Which is good because thats been my complaint about the game for a bit now. Once you know what to do, being setup for long term survival and having nothing really left to do but wander about could happen in like, a month in game or less depending on loot luck. Plant a few lettuce crops, live by a lake for fishing and its done. Even a lot of the mods are only a slight increase in challenge or only for a short term at the start. But now it feels like while you could probably do something similar (ive heard the farming isnt so simple now) you can go so much further in game to establish yourself long term.

Yeah... muscle strain mechanics gets immediately disabled in my playthroughs. Especialy that neither Strength nor Athletics affects it which is asinine to say the least.
Check your garbage bags, they are full of junk now from bins. I also found a box of garbage bags. Once you turn down the size of the moodles they're fine.
@@zombie-ash-gaming I also just found a book for level 1-2 long blade. Looks like all the weapons now have books. Also it seems to be getting easier, I dinged level 3 short blunt and can keep going without the muscle soreness slowing me down like it did at the start.
Anyone explain the two water and electricity shut offs? Basements on standard sometimes is plenty. I'm finding heaps. I just survived the helicopter. Nothing happened. lol. I actually just found a radio in a basement that finally had the emergency broadcast frequency, I got home, tuned in a walkie to it and as I was listening to the broadcast, the chopper noise started. The radio ended with air activity detected. :D I then grabbed a burrito I got from the store next to cortman medical the day before and grabbed my mechanics 1 book and ran to the bedroom. Sit down because I was full exhausted and just finished the book off. Chopper left, went outside, nothing because I already cleared the neighborhood. Seems how it goes as I always do that before the chopper, clear the block then hang around base.
The muscle pain thing seems like it’s only to incentivize using firearms which I think is stupid but at least you can turn it off in sandbox. Also for some reason you can’t disinfect rags now, which is even dumber.
I got obsessed with PZ in 2020 during the start of COVID and I was out of work for 4 months with nothing to do. I think now is a good time to play PZ again. This is a challenging game but really fun once you figure out the mechanics.
Does anybody know how to get clay? And clay cement? I’m trying to make the forge stuff and I can’t find any useful info, i can’t find out how to get a bag of sand either for the clay cement
Same I would have thought lick it up from the ground with a sack and hand fork, that’s how it used to be done but haven’t tried it in b42, clay I believe there are nodes in world you have to harvest with a licks e or hammer
part of me is afraid that build 42 is balancing the fun out of the game, like i understand they've been cooking this one up for ages but at some point you gotta know when the goose is cooked and fleshing out mechanics until you reach a mechanics singularity doesnt sound all that enticing. i could be wrong though.
so, should we expect exercise to help with fatigue? I was just wondering. I mean if we max out our exercise should we not gain less of a chance of fatigue...
I love everything about B42 but my god the new moodles look bad. I also like how they added some quality of life mods like the new fuel cap indicator but then don't add swap it or weapon condition indicator. Mods that are pretty much required just for the quality of life they give. Just gotta wait for all my mods to get B42 ready and I'll never look back. Also, $25k for that house? It'd be more like $250k these days.
Yeah I’m really missing weapon condition and reorder hotbar, it does surprise me as well they don’t as weapon condition but maybe in the future, mods will be up in no time tho for sure! Yeah right on the price! 😂😂
Guys after the build 42 update when i open the game the screen is all blacked,the music and the lightning sounds are still running but the whole screen is black what should i do
Bastards42 is here. I like the look of everything so far, except the muscle strain coming in so quickly. I'm hoping that drops off fast as you level up, otherwise it's a bit annoying. 34:01 there are more map symbols, check the tabs below the colour options "locations" "loot" "symbols" Engine volume is in sandbox settings. I don't know if it makes it louder in the game world as well though, so it might pull in more zeds if you turn it up! When you didn't pick up the hose in the first basement I thought "I bet Z-A-G doesn't know he needs that to syphon fuel" and sure enough! 😄 42:14 I'm guessing you need a pan to make it? The UI scaling should be a setting - I'm sure devs said that somewhere when they were explaining the 4k scaling. I don't mind the new moodles, although they seem to be causing some folks to have a break-down...funny thing is we almost all mod the B41 moodles (and there are already B42 mods) so I'm not sure why that minor point seems to be what's causing a few people to REEEEEEEE so much.
can you craft a workbench? I know I have the game, I could play the game to find out...but I have been playing Days Gone again, so not trying to play several games at once.

Which is good because thats been my complaint about the game for a bit now. Once you know what to do, being setup for long term survival and having nothing really left to do but wander about could happen in like, a month in game or less depending on loot luck. Plant a few lettuce crops, live by a lake for fishing and its done. Even a lot of the mods are only a slight increase in challenge or only for a short term at the start. But now it feels like while you could probably do something similar (ive heard the farming isnt so simple now) you can go so much further in game to establish yourself long term.
Yeah couldn’t agree more with this mate, definitely the first couple/few run will still be learning but after it will probably focus on a certain aspect

Yeah... muscle strain mechanics gets immediately disabled in my playthroughs. Especialy that neither Strength nor Athletics affects it which is asinine to say the least.

Check your garbage bags, they are full of junk now from bins. I also found a box of garbage bags. Once you turn down the size of the moodles they're fine.

@@zombie-ash-gaming I also just found a book for level 1-2 long blade. Looks like all the weapons now have books. Also it seems to be getting easier, I dinged level 3 short blunt and can keep going without the muscle soreness slowing me down like it did at the start.

Anyone explain the two water and electricity shut offs? Basements on standard sometimes is plenty. I'm finding heaps. I just survived the helicopter. Nothing happened. lol. I actually just found a radio in a basement that finally had the emergency broadcast frequency, I got home, tuned in a walkie to it and as I was listening to the broadcast, the chopper noise started. The radio ended with air activity detected. :D I then grabbed a burrito I got from the store next to cortman medical the day before and grabbed my mechanics 1 book and ran to the bedroom. Sit down because I was full exhausted and just finished the book off. Chopper left, went outside, nothing because I already cleared the neighborhood. Seems how it goes as I always do that before the chopper, clear the block then hang around base.
Good to know about the heli 👌🏻 I’m not 100% on the 2 option either I think maybe the minimum amount of days before the random shut off?

The muscle pain thing seems like it’s only to incentivize using firearms which I think is stupid but at least you can turn it off in sandbox.
Also for some reason you can’t disinfect rags now, which is even dumber.

I got obsessed with PZ in 2020 during the start of COVID and I was out of work for 4 months with nothing to do.
I think now is a good time to play PZ again. This is a challenging game but really fun once you figure out the mechanics.

Same I would have thought lick it up from the ground with a sack and hand fork, that’s how it used to be done but haven’t tried it in b42, clay I believe there are nodes in world you have to harvest with a licks e or hammer

part of me is afraid that build 42 is balancing the fun out of the game, like i understand they've been cooking this one up for ages but at some point you gotta know when the goose is cooked and fleshing out mechanics until you reach a mechanics singularity doesnt sound all that enticing. i could be wrong though.

I love everything about B42 but my god the new moodles look bad. I also like how they added some quality of life mods like the new fuel cap indicator but then don't add swap it or weapon condition indicator. Mods that are pretty much required just for the quality of life they give. Just gotta wait for all my mods to get B42 ready and I'll never look back.
Also, $25k for that house? It'd be more like $250k these days.
Yeah I’m really missing weapon condition and reorder hotbar, it does surprise me as well they don’t as weapon condition but maybe in the future, mods will be up in no time tho for sure! Yeah right on the price! 😂😂

Guys after the build 42 update when i open the game the screen is all blacked,the music and the lightning sounds are still running but the whole screen is black what should i do
Try verifying game files, I had black screen on my first load up did this and sorted it out 👌🏻

I like the look of everything so far, except the muscle strain coming in so quickly. I'm hoping that drops off fast as you level up, otherwise it's a bit annoying.
34:01 there are more map symbols, check the tabs below the colour options "locations" "loot" "symbols"
Engine volume is in sandbox settings. I don't know if it makes it louder in the game world as well though, so it might pull in more zeds if you turn it up!
When you didn't pick up the hose in the first basement I thought "I bet Z-A-G doesn't know he needs that to syphon fuel" and sure enough! 😄

The UI scaling should be a setting - I'm sure devs said that somewhere when they were explaining the 4k scaling. I don't mind the new moodles, although they seem to be causing some folks to have a break-down...funny thing is we almost all mod the B41 moodles (and there are already B42 mods) so I'm not sure why that minor point seems to be what's causing a few people to REEEEEEEE so much.
