I’m a revert, I accepted islam last year in December. Before Allah guided me to the straight path, I was actually planning to become an artist, making music was my passion and when I accepted islam I was very conflicted cuz I knew deep down, music would bring more bad than good, so I did more research on it and came to the conclusion that music will make you go astray and make you forget about the after life. So for the sake of to please Allah I stoped making music. Listing to music is one thing but when it’s your passion it’s different, and was very difficult to leave. I used to find my comfort in music but now I run to Allah SWT. Now I’m always listening to lectures or podcasts or something beneficial. Jazakallah Ahki, may Allah keep us all steadfast. Amen
Brother, I relate, I also wanted to pursue music for a long time but I now see why Allah never made it a possibility, I uninstalled my FL Studio a few weeks ago, I never thought I'd see the day where that would happen, may Allah reward us for our sacrifices.
Glad I'm not obsessed with music. Sometimes in public places, they play music, but to me, it just feels flat and doesn't impact my feelings or mind. I can just let it go in one ear and out the other. I'm really thankful that I can ignore music in my life-such a blessing to have this ability not to be affected by it.
Just wait once you hear a music that goes with your vibe. I swear it's hard to not get affected by any music at all cause the music itself has different moods and forms of it's own. And unlike alcohol or other Haram stuff this music is everywhere. That's the hardest part of the test.
@@oak7OO5 I’ve been tested and thankfully I do Dhikr in my head trying to do it very loudly as well. Because of that the songs don’t repeat in my head.
What led you into Hellfire? "They will say we were not of those who prayed." (Qur'an 74:42-43) Don't forget your five daily prayers. ما الذي أدخلكم النار؟ "سيقولون لم نك من المصلين" (القرآن 74:42-43) لا تنسوا صلواتكم الخمس.
for all those who used to or still do listen to music, listen to quran, it wont just be way better than music but it'll make you leave music completely. just try it edit: to those who are trying to defend music and says its halal just know that the music the prophet SAW said was haram was the music from olden days which didnt have any bad words and the musical instruments that were used were very timid and easy-going, now imagine how haram the music now days is
Two cannot go hand in hand,we must follow what's commanded. Music is haram whether u think so or not Music is momentary forgetfullness and disassociation from reality,it doesnt fix your problems, there's a solution to every single one and God has everything planned,he loves u,he said he doesnt burden a soul with more than what it can bear. U are exactly where u need to be and why be sad? This is a temporary world,u can count your problems not your blessings for a reason,u learn something and realize others every time. They imcrease your status beyond deeds and God gave u that hard situation so he will give u something even better,be patient ,good days always come if not here in afterlife which is eternal. People u havent met yet that will love u with your whole being. U are loves and important to God and others. God is the only constant in your life, everything else will come and go. Your soul is good,do good, cleanse and purify it. Repent, try to fix if possible, dont do it again and move on,leave the past and what u cant control, superstitions alone, they have no power and u cant do anything,it creates extremism and will ruin your life. Dont overthink or create unnecessary problems. Do good, hide others faults, help others so they do the same to u and God does that for u as well. Music controls heart ,emotions and subconscious thats why its haram. The sirens are an excellent examples as just like music its a play of frequencues to send an urgent message and a message of terror and fear. It makes u remember the hard times like the times maybe u had to be in an ambulance or loved ones. It has properties to manipulate and make u do stuff ,u get easily influenced and most make way for it. Its an example of this being used for good however most are bad uses ,see the content and hidden messages in songs, they're vile and evil and promote bad things,God knew that so he made music haram. And example of an ambulance is given for understanding. This isnt true happiness guys, its only with God, it took me a long while to realise this. Its onky momentary happiness. Music controls heart and emotions and thoughts. See the ambulance frequencies and sad songs that touch your heart cause its manipulative and most music is about bad things a work of the devil. May God guide u and us all Ameen take care
And Holy Quran cannot be replaced, its disrespectful to say that music can replace it. I'm not shunning you, you're my brother in Islam,it's told to us to do that, take care
@@reminder_for_you-2 btw he didn’t say the Quran can be replaced, he was talking of those that do listen to music and in a rhetorical manner saying “why do you listen to music when Quran is better’ just as how it says in the Quran “they enjoy the dunya, while the akhira is better’.
I used to be obsessed with music. In fact a lot of my classmates would know me for it and would ask me for recommendations. After some time i found out i had a lot of trouble sleeping whenever i listened to music i wouldnt be able to sleep at night i would get this cold sort of shiver and this dread and fear i cant describe it well but i felt as if i was getting possessed or something. After some reflection, i also found out music made me depressed, agitated, it boosted my feelings to a different level depending on what music i listened to. The lyrics in most songs promote fitnah and now that i think about it i dont know how i had the decency to listen to them. Lol im supposed to be studying but i hope this can help someone stop listening to music it wont be easy but imagine if you control this desire what youre reward will be on the Day Of Judgement. Start now and wallahi you will see a difference my life was so much chill peaceful non cringey and happy after i stopped :DD Also you cant have quran and music in the same heart you either have one of them so which wil it be?
@@Foreveryoung10-h9u It was the same for me before but Alhamdulillah I officially stopped. Maybe try to reduce the amount you listen to? Or try listening more to the Quran until your ears are more "attracted" to it. I did a whole thing before officially stopping music but it is too long to explain it here. May Allah swt help you, indeed it is not easy at first but not impossible.
I'm glad you wrote that , you can't believe how much I relate to it and how much it helped me , I used to think it's just the way I am and that depression is part of my personality until I stopped , my social relationships improved , my mood improved , my academics improved , alhamdulillah
I love the message and advice brother, May Allah reward you for it, but refrain from exposing your sins as the Prophet ﷺ said that all of his Ummah would be forgiven except the Mujahireen (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins). Source: Sahih Al Bukhari 6069.
Allahumma'barik... this might be the best video about the prohibition of music I've seen... Very well articulated and informative... May Allah accept your efforts brother...
remember to not worship the feeling, while iman gives hapiness and contentment, we should not worship Allah only to seek the hapiness that comes with it, rather hapiness is a result of the worship of Allah. And I saw people quiting islam saying they worshipped Allah but still where sad so they left islam, May Allah protect us from dying in a state of disbelief Allahouma Amine.
I've always known music is haram but i appreciated the way you explained everything in depth. I just subscribed because i learnt something new in under 7 minutes, Tabarak-Allah!
Don't think about how small the sin is, think about the greatness of the One you are sinning against. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank U brother , video came at the right time , SubhanAllah
No way! This video was posted yesterday and it came on my feed yesterday!! I was actually searching for videos regarding this and this video helped me a lot! Jazak Allah Khair brother, may Allah bless you for spreading awareness about this!
only 1-2 years ago I could not imagine my life without music. Now im cool with it. Sometimes i miss it (maybe because it has not been a lot since I quitted hearing it), but I know I can do better. Indeed, before I went for a music whenever I felt bad. Now I am reciting the Surah that I am learning whenever feeling sad. However, I have a problem. I have been playing for 10 years. While I am playing piano less than I used to, still it seems very difficult for me to stop it at all. But I believe I can do it! In Sha Allah, I will be able to. At the end of the day, this world is temporary. I pray asking Allah SWT to make my Iman stronger. What kind of muslim will I be if I cant get rid of this little thing. I pray for you all brothers and sisters. May Allah make out Iman stronger and getting rid of haram habits easier.
But why do you want to quit piano ??? In my opinion i dont listen to music much but why quit your passion of piano i seriously dont understand this There has been studies that if you are not addicted music can help your state of mind
It’s either music or the Qur’an you can’t do both without falling under one over the other whether you notice it or not be grateful you learn soon rather than too late
thank you for this video the more islamic videos i watch the more i come back to reality, the more i can focus again i remember a long time ago when i didnt listen to any music, i got the highest of the grades in the school i was in after i started listening to music all that vanished, no matter how hard i tried. i will do my best to leave music, being the only sin i've been doing. after that i'll feel safe, focus on the work i have to do, read quran the start of every day after fajr.
JazakAllah akhi. This video is perhaps the best video out there on this topic. So precise, so short and to the point. I also think this is a great video for those who dont want to follow sheikhs fatwas and call scholars ignorant, they can watch this video instead and understand too. Good job and may Allah SWT bless you
This video came to me in the right time like I love that god is leading me more and more to his path, thank you yahya for simplifying this for us especially in 5:00

music is like chasing tube lights when u have the sun , music is just empty nothing to relieve to guide and like mirage u think there is water but ... may Allah protect and also one thing i noticed that music is not just one sin , it brings with itself fahash and you said it right hypocrisy.
Thanks brother you really proved why i should give up music i used to listen to it and started again its been 6 months now i know why i dont feel that same connection and devotion i used to I will 100% focus and take this as notes.I will also try my best and give up this sin
Aoa brother. I just wanted to say that this video brought tears to my eyes. For months now I've been contemplating whether or not music is haram, and no matter how much I'd force the opinion that "it's not haram" in myself, deep down I knew that it was wrong because I always felt a pinch of guilt at times when listening to music. Whenever I do wudu or pray, at times some lyrics pop up in my mind and I try to get rid of them but they are so persistent. Alhamdulillah this video came on my recommendations and I seriously thank Allah for showing me this video and I hope you get good deeds for spreading such a wonderful message to everyone. May Allah give us all the strength to quit music and focus on the Quran. Thank you brother.
What if in class, while watching an educational video, theres music in the background? Also, great video, you explained it perfectly well, and I 100% agree with what you’ve said, may Allah(SWT) bless you and your knowledge.
This is the very difference between hearing and active listening. Its everywhere today, every corner, we cannot stop our way of life because of this and sit at home. So do not actively listen to it or absorb it, rather treat it as background music and do not pay attention to it
That's different. You're not actively listening to it from your own accord. Instead its simply in the background and in this type of situation you should simply hate it in your heart and not have the intention of actively listening to it.
My idea on this is to not to focus on the music in the background and keep your focus on the educational audio, but as akhi said its still better to ask a scholar 😊
Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider fornication, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. Sahih Al Bukhari 5590

Ya Yahya, thank you for being my recommended, I struggled with times, and used music as a cure, rukia, to feel exhilirated, now I watched this video, I stopped, inshallah I can hopefully make my friends stop reciting haram lyrics or listening to with disgusting language, thank you, I plan now to hopefully pray the five daily prayers, read more quran, and focus on life, Asalamu Alaikum wa rahmatulliah wa barakatu Ya yayha
My advice would be focus solely on the Ulamah such as Fawzan and Ibn Uteymeen that you mentioned and do not go to other people for clarification or any other public speaker out there because most of the time they are mubtad'i with huge followers i don't need to name people i think most people know who i am talking abt.
This is great akhi, however be careful of تعصب (taa’asub). We take knowledge from people so long as they don’t oppose the Quran and the sunnah. May allah preserve our sheikh Saleh Al Fawzan, however everyone makes mistakes, this is why we don’t exclusively take from him and leave everyone else.
@@yahyayokiنعم we follow the set scholars who follow the quran and sunnah upon the understanding and interpretation of the salaf, as they were rightly guided and the best of the rasools ﷺ ummah (Sahih al-Bukhari 6429, Sahih Muslim 2533a)
@mvhommedI’m so confused as to who you’re speaking about, everyone he used in the video to my knowledge follows the Quran and sunnah with the understanding of the salaf
@@yahyayoki Na'am what i meant is to take from the Ulamah and not just take from one and leave the rest of the Ulamah. {So ask the people of knowledge if you do not know} [an-Nahl 16:43]. But it is not permissible to take knowledge from someone unknown and that is not from the people of knowledge.
The hadith reported from bukhari is muallaq. Also its not even from a chapter about music. Its from a chapter about drinking alchohol. And quran doesnt say music is haram. The word used is "hadith" and to translate or interperet it as to mean music is a stretch at best. Even based on the muallaq hadith from bukhari (the hadith of the instruments), the music would only be haram in combination with haram acts or encouragement to haram acts
Ibn masud swore by Allah that that verse referred to music. We don’t follow your interpretation or opinions, the consensus of the scholars is the only consensus. Either follow it or be misguided. Anyway, 31:6 refers to music.
It’s important to remember that discussing music in Islam doesn’t have to be contentious. Based on various hadiths, it seems clear that music is not inherently haram. For instance, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entered upon her while she had two girls with her, singing the songs of Bu'ath. When Abu Bakr scolded her, the Prophet said, "Leave them alone, O Abu Bakr! For every people has a festival, and this is our festival." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 69, Hadith 494). Additionally, Aisha narrated, "Let there be in your houses some of the entertainment (music) for the Jews, for I was sent as a mercy to the worlds" (Sahih al-Bukhari). There are also narrations from Al-Hakim that indicate the Prophet allowed the use of the duff (a type of drum) during celebrations like weddings. Furthermore, a narration from Al-Hakim mentions that Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) expressed a desire for a musical instrument to accompany his poetry, reflecting that the companions acknowledged music and instruments in a celebratory context. Engaging with music, especially in joyful contexts, can bring happiness without leading to sin, so it's not a sin to enjoy or share music as long as it aligns with our values and doesn’t distract us from our faith.
It’s also worth noting that many renowned scholars, such as Imam Ghazali, Ibn Hazm, Ibn Rushd, Ibn Sina, and Imam Rumi, acknowledged and permitted music in their works. During the Islamic Golden Age, music was celebrated and integrated into cultural and intellectual life. Their perspectives highlight that music was not only accepted but also appreciated as a form of art and expression. So, when we discuss music in Islam today, it’s essential to recognize this rich historical context and the views of these scholars. Engaging with music, especially in joyful contexts, can bring happiness without leading to sin, and it’s not haram to enjoy or share music as long as it aligns with our values and does not distract us from our faith
Barakallahu Feekum, please read the explanation of the Hadiths that are in Bukhari that you have mentioned as to not lead people astray. I’m sure the 4 imams came across these Hadiths before coming to the conclusion that music is haram.
@@vefgvdsvsv1525Ibn sina, Rumi were excommunicated by multiple Ulama. Do not quote them as evidence. Also Ghazali was not a muhadith, and his works contained a lot of dha'eef and Maudhu Ahadith. The position of the Salaf is superior and more worthy of being followed than the khalaf. Music is haram by Ijma'. Also, the music back then, even without any lyrics is not like that of today. Finally, when the Imam of this Ummah, Prophet ﷺ stated musical instruments will be considered Halal, next to zina, next to alcohol.. what room does that leave you with to say otherwise?? Did he say musical instruments accompanied with bad lyrics? No. Ibn sina and rumi (even though they're excommunicated), Ghazali, Ibn Hazm رحمه الله and Ibn rushd are all not going to care about you in the Aakhira... They're not going to care about their followers. They will not spare a single deed for you, nor will you spare a single deed for them. The only person that will pray and care about you is Prophet ﷺ. But do you care enough about him? Especially when he says musical instruments will be considered Halal????
i still listen to music and know that its haram and i listen to less music now but i still listen to music but kind of music thats the opposite from the modern ones and i try to listen to less music but i used to listen to music a lot in the last 5 years for probably 10 hours everyday and i can see that music is bad for me but im basically a music addict
Dont be completely addicted to it but if there is no bad speech you can listen to it a bit while doing your daily routine or in the gym as a side thing
If all music is haram without exception, then all the missionaries of Islam who brought islam to my country in the 13th century are currently being punished in hell. They spread Islam in part by using local cultural approaches, including music. Even to this day, one way of preaching here is through music. According to Pew Research survey data, my country is one of the societies with the highest levels of religious commitment in the world, higher than our cousin in the middle east. It's a pity that we are all doomed to hell just because we don't follow the opinion that says all music is haram.
Just because someone sinned, doesn’t mean they rot in hell because of it. And you saying ALL the missionaries used music is a crazy exaggeration. Please provide your evidence as to why they are being punished in hell and bring the evidence of the missionaries using music to give Dawah
The opinion on islamic songs is quite decisive, some say it is haram like the rest of the music and others say it is permissible or even encouraged because it strengthens your iman, I want you to research this topic. But either way, their sins and their good deeds will be weighed upon the scales on the day of judgement, and Allah is the most merciful. But Allah knows best my brother/sister.
@@yahyayoki >"Please provide your evidence as to why they are being punished in hell" your video. You apparently like to classify all music as the same thing (when you couldn't even prove its status as "haram") >"bring the evidence of the missionaries using music to give Dawah" ??? should be obvious that everyone has a different way of introducing Islam to others (especially different regions and cultures)?????????? take an anthropology class bruh
Broo I listened to u for the first time brother and im ready to quit music my whole family said to me leave the music but I never listned to them but u changed it may Allah bless you
My brother,Can I translate this video into Chinese and share it on my Chinese social media ?so that Chinese Muslims can also benefit from it. I’m looking forward to your reply ❤
Jazakallahu khairan akhi, you changed my point of view, I also wonder why music is haram so i searched it and found your video, and it's literally helpful and understanding I mean you're right, jazakallahu khairan 👍🏻
The songs played should not contain indecent, offensive, or haram (forbidden) words or themes. The music should not be played in a setting where men and women are in an inappropriate or un-Islamic manner. The music should not distract from or interfere with one’s religious obligations, such as prayer or other acts of worship. Please use your brain guys. Allah wants you to always read and learn. You’ll know which music is haram which is not. Hadith and narratives collectively suggest that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not prohibit all music, and in some cases, even actively participated or approved of them. He let people to play tambourines and daffs in celebrations. We shouldn’t leave his teachings.
Daffs are allowed, however music, such as wind instruments, and string instruments, are obviously prohibited. There is also a difference between ghina' and inshad (nasheed), which is inshad is about islam, while ghina' is singing for other things, ie, not for islam. Allah knows best and please correct me if I'm wrong.
@@Shaykhraadgems Not all scholars say the same things. Sometimes they also discuss these issues. That is why as a Muslim we should read a lot and learn the logic.
@@mustafakaseer9226 Our sources are the Quran and hadiths. Do these sources mention wind and stringed instruments? We know that the daffs and the drums are mentioned. If a musical instrument has the potential for sinful activity or makes you forget Allah, then you should not use it. Also, according to the hadiths, the Prophet did not stop people who were having fun within a halal framework. But we must remember that we cannot spend most of our lives having fun. It’s unbecoming of us.
this is narrated by Imam Bukhari in a section of his book where he places hadith which are not authentic according to his condition. So would Allah put us in hell (thats what haram leads to) without a clear message? Surah Anaam verse 119 says "We have clearly explained whatever is haram upon you" There is no clear authentic verse or hadith about music being haram. Also, in this hadith it mentions fornication and silk and alcohol which are clearly haram through verses of the Quran and hadith which are clear and authentic but the word "maazif" (which is loosely translated as musical instruments) is not mentioned in any verse or authentic and clear hadith. So would Allah take us to task for something He never explicitly told us to not do? Which is messenger never explicitly told us to not do ( based off authentic narrations) ?
I appreciate your points akhi I really do. However I just want you to think. Have you studied the science of Hadith to infer that a Hadith which is معلق (mu’allaq) makes it weak? If that was the case, it wouldn’t have passed the strict guidelines for it to be a Hadith in Sahih Al Bukhari. Secondly, معازف (maazif) does mean instruments, like it literally directly translates to it, so it’s not a loose translation. Thirdly, If you genuinely believe that music is not haram, and the Hadith doesn’t speak about music, and the tafsir of this ayah doesn’t talk about music, then that’s up to you, but just keep in mind that your interpretation goes against the interpretation of Abu Bakr, Abdullah ibn Umar, Ibn masoud, ibn abbas, and the four madhabs. Your going against consensus of the ummah on this issue, and the prophet ﷺ says: إنَّ اللَّهَ قد أجارَ أمَّتي أن تجتمِعَ علَى ضلالةٍ “Indeed Allah has protected my ummah from uniting on a misguidance”
The ruling on music in Islam is debated among scholars, with different views: 1. Music is haram: Some scholars base this on hadiths that warn against musical instruments, like the one that says people will make music and other forbidden things seem permissible. 2. Music is halal: Other scholars say there's no clear evidence in the Qur'an or hadith that all music is forbidden. They believe it depends on the content and how it affects a person's faith. 3. Middle-ground: Some scholars say music is fine as long as the lyrics are good and it doesn't distract from religious duties. In the end, it’s up to each person to decide based on what feels right for them, while keeping their faith in mind.
It's true, if I can tell you a little, to be honest, I'm a little stressed about this, but for a long time I don't want to think about it too much. I really agree with what Brother Yahya said in the video. There's a lot of music that's not halal nowadays. I really agree because I look at the artist and the story. about illicit love behind the meaning of the song, but I don't fully agree with everything because I'm still confused by the song's instrumentation without calm lyrics without any bad intentions in it because sometimes the rhythm sounds the same as the nahssed that I often hear too, therefore I still I'm still looking for research on this and it's not completely forbidden, and there are many points from Brother Yahya that I agree with that in video. May Allah guide us all to the straight path and make us people who always practice and always love al quran in our live ❤ im still in journey too 🤲 sorry if my world wrong too
The difference of opinion when it comes to music is not to be considered as much as other differences in opinion, due to the fact that the 4 madhahib agree on the fact that it’s haram. The only scholar I’m aware of who said it’s halal is Ibn Hazm, but even then we can agree that music then is much different than music now. God knows if ibn hazm would say nowadays music is permissible
music doesnt actually help you focus better. It just screws you up. When you listen to music while studying, you get used to it and when you dont have access to it anymore, you wont be able to sit in silence or focus without it.
As long as the game itself is halal then yes just muting the music is fine inshallah. As long as it's done in moderation and doesn't prevent them from doing their obligation
What about percussion instruments like the daff which even the most conservative scholars allow? Is clapping and snapping allowed. Nasheeds without vocals also influence emotion is that haram? Jazakallah
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Indeed, it known from the religion of Islam by necessity that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] did not legislate for the righteous of his Ummah, the devout worshippers and the Zuhhaad (i.e. those who suffice only with necessities of life) amongst them to gather together to listen to melodic poetic verses whilst clapping, striking with a rod or a Duff. Likewise, he did not make it permissible for anyone to turn away from following him and that which he brought from the Book and wisdom (i.e. the Sunnah)- neither in affairs related to (acts of worship of the heart, creed etc) nor the apparent (acts of worship of the limbs); neither allowed for a common person nor for an elite (to do so); but rather the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] permitted some types of entertainment at weddings and the like, just as he permitted women to beat the duff at weddings and joyous occasions. As for the men during his time, neither any of them used to beat the Duff nor clap with the palm; rather, it has been established in the Saheeh (i.e. Al-Bukhaari and Muslim] that he said: “Clapping is for women and saying Subhaanallaah is for the men”. (see footnote a) He cursed women who imitate men, and men who imitate women. And since singing, playing the duff and clapping are the actions of women, the Salaf called the men who did that effeminate, and they called the singing men effeminate, and this is well known in their speech.
Back when I was a kid- I was ignorant of this ruling, but when I came to learn of it- it made perfect sense. Personally, the issue for me is not the legality of Music- it's the fact that enforcing this ruling is becoming harder every day. Going to the Grocery? Music is being played on the speakers. Going to Eat out? Music Travelling through town? Music. Also- I have to mention the fact that most of the music being played in these cases contains weird lyrics, and is overrated. At least, if you’re determined to sin and play music- play good ones which will be melodious and appropriate for children who will be frequenting the areas. These songs are also mainly composed of just instrumental beats, and some person repeating the same words again and again. I often wonder how the Producers don’t cringe when they hear back those songs being played back at them. But then I realize how filthy the entire Industry is- not many people speak about it- but there’s systematic and widespread Harassment and Abuse deeply interlinked within the workplace. Whether it’s in Hollywood or India. There’s often some scandal or controversy present which is thinly veiled. I believe there was some controversy at Hollywood a few weeks ago. It doesn’t matter if the person is rich or poor, small or old- they’re either a victim or an abuser or both. Furthermore, there’s a lot of Illicit substances and Alcohol involved, as well as illegal/stolen money. Some movie productions are a front for money laundering too. Eg: the funds from Sovereign Wealth Fund of Malaysia meant to benefit the citizens of Malaysia, was misused to produce films and other similar wasteful things. But- the harder part is not this- it’s during social functions and events- Going on a car trip? People want to play music. Wedding? Most of the highlights will be of the Music and other Haram elements (free-mixing, “Hijabs”- but it’s following Bani Israeel standards (like they broke the Sabbath Embargo), etc.) Messaging Group Chats/ Social Media- filled with Music. There’s a few exceptions- but a lot of people don’t follow this ruling making it harder for those who do. You perfectly illustrated in the beginning how they react when they’re advised. I ask Allah (SWT) to forgive us all, guide us, and grant us Wisdom, steadfastness upon the Deen and the courage to tackle this widespread Issue. Ameen
You're about the curing of depression aspect. I was once very sad when something happened to me and my grandmother, a very pious woman, recommended to read the Quran instead. You made me remember thanks. Anyways, I will have to delete Maher Zain's songs too
For me music isnt something i think about anymore. I don't listen to it for myself but i can't skip the gym or skip certain events because they choose to plsy music. Does that still make it a sin?
Shaykh-ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah said that there’s a difference between listening and hearing music. If you happen to be in a place where music is being played like in a store for example, then you are not sinful, because this is out of your control.
i dont know for sure you can search online there was fatwa i read about this exact situation proabarly that basically said if you are somewhere you hear the the music playing and you just ignore it there is no sin on you but if you start listning to it then you are sinful .you should definetly search abput it online I definetly read it online but i dont remember
Not a scholar but for the gym, maybe you could use headphones or airpods and listen to maybe a nasheed or something else to cover up the sound of the music
But it says music or singing that distances people from Allah.... ofc this mainstream music is very often exactly encouraging people to derive from Allah... but if I follow every commands of Allah, and try to learn and implement everyday and then compose some things on my piano or guitare while remembering how beautiful Allah creates these, I just do not understand the reason in this to be haram. ( btw in the times of the sahaba and even before people would often also drink and do sins around music, I understand that, but EVERY kind of music and ALL types of music ... I don't know, if some one has got a detailed reason please tell me, it would help me out a lot.
I struggle with it myself , but the greatest reward comes with the sin that is hardest to give up. I'm sure there will be better music in Jannah anyway !!
Assalam-walaykum may Allah guide you closer to the deen, forgive you for your shortcomings, and enter you into Jannatul firdawsi. 1. If you truly followed every command of Allah you wouldn’t play or listen to music. 2. Ask yourself why it is hard to give this up. The best way to know why it is haram is to live without it. Being in a haram can be blinding so try this experiment and let me know how it goes. You may think you can’t live without it, Try to go a couple of days without it and replace music with listening to Quran and pondering over its verses. Reflect on how you felt after going without music for a week. 3. “Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you and like something which is bad for you. Allah knows and you do not know.” 2:216 May Allah make it easy for you.
music is sound it has frequencies, and it affects humans, which in turn can help negative entities to take over easily, like music can create trance, it can weaken your own energies and frequencies, entities like J!nn, can find opportunities to take over someone easily when someone is already so lost in the trance, this is just my inexperienced deduction I can be totally wrong, but I do believe music being frequency have physical impact on humans and living being good or bad too little or a lot, but we can never know which music can be good which can be bad how much is it affecting us in a good way or bad way, it is something that can escalate into bad, it is better to stay away from it since it's a factor beyond our own control and affects us, it already affects dopamine levels, also it remains in our memory sometimes all you need is just to listen to it once, it may not be something you deliberately listened to, but heard randomly somewhere, the piece of music can be so impactful that it lingers on in memory, it repeats in our head, imagine instead of Ayah of Quran Kareem we have music being repeated in our heads, this in the long run can weaken memories, lyrics or not music is anyway a thing which has no profound usage, we must protect our minds and our memories, it is not just about a song being profane and filthy a nice song too is just useless, music and tunes are useless for us, they occupy our brains storage which should only be occupied with Zhikr of Allah Subhanawata'alah and his Holy Quran and Hadees and all positive things.
Really liked your explanation.. MashaAllah.. Appreciate the evidences based on Quran and Hadith. May Allah swt grant you jannatul firdaous. I'm glad to be a new subscriber. May Allah accept it. Amin
Music is haram, but playing videogames isn't haram. Music is haram, but playing sports isn't haram. Music is haram, but taking pictures and videos isn't haram. Music is haram, but listening to podcasts isn't haram. Music is haram, but making jokes isn't haram. Music is haram, but reading a non-islamic book isn't haram. All of these things may not benefit us on the day of judgement but saying they are haram is completely not what Islam promotes. Subhanallah brother! that you found 1 interpretation of the Quran out of DOZENS that proves your point. This same scholar believed that a woman showing 2 eyes was haram! All those poor companions of the prophet that owned flutes and other musical instruments who didn't know about the correct interpretation? May Allah have mercy on them. Congratulations... I could write an essay about Bukhari but just because people were listening to music while doing haram things in their drinking party like drinking alcohol doesn't make it haram in itself. Association does not mean that they themselves were condemned. I can understand deriving the ruling that music with sex, alcohol, drugs is haram but music in itself? not so much. Also, the wearing of silk is permissible for women :) Islam is a religion that has rulings that are in the middle and not extreme. For example we can't gamble but we can still play games and have fun. In fact I'd argue that singing is 100 times worse than just instruments, but it is what it is.

Amen
Im jealous of how big ur reward is gonna be from allah 🥺 ma shaa’ allah

Glad I'm not obsessed with music. Sometimes in public places, they play music, but to me, it just feels flat and doesn't impact my feelings or mind. I can just let it go in one ear and out the other. I'm really thankful that I can ignore music in my life-such a blessing to have this ability not to be affected by it.
You are a super human
I do Dhikr in my head😂😂.
Because of that the songs don’t repeat in my head.

for all those who used to or still do listen to music, listen to quran, it wont just be way better than music but it'll make you leave music completely. just try it
edit: to those who are trying to defend music and says its halal just know that the music the prophet SAW said was haram was the music from olden days which didnt have any bad words and the musical instruments that were used were very timid and easy-going, now imagine how haram the music now days is
Two cannot go hand in hand,we must follow what's commanded.

Start now and wallahi you will see a difference my life was so much chill peaceful non cringey and happy after i stopped :DD

only 1-2 years ago I could not imagine my life without music.

You should ask a scholar
This is the very difference between hearing and active listening. Its everywhere today, every corner, we cannot stop our way of life because of this and sit at home. So do not actively listen to it or absorb it, rather treat it as background music and do not pay attention to it
That's different. You're not actively listening to it from your own accord. Instead its simply in the background and in this type of situation you should simply hate it in your heart and not have the intention of actively listening to it.
My idea on this is to not to focus on the music in the background and keep your focus on the educational audio, but as akhi said its still better to ask a scholar 😊

Very well articulated ❤ I’m not sure I’ve watched a full video for many years but I watched all of this one.
Engaging with music, especially in joyful contexts, can bring happiness without leading to sin, and it’s not haram to enjoy or share music as long as it aligns with our values and does not distract us from our faith
u can listen to music if it doesnt have any instrumental noise and doesnt content any bad word or bad lyrics that pushs u toward sins/haram things
So what would be permissible music

@@yahyayoki >"Please provide your evidence as to why they are being punished in hell"
your video. You apparently like to classify all music as the same thing (when you couldn't even prove its status as "haram")

💯💯💯
Daffs are allowed, however music, such as wind instruments, and string instruments, are obviously prohibited. There is also a difference between ghina' and inshad (nasheed), which is inshad is about islam, while ghina' is singing for other things, ie, not for islam. Allah knows best and please correct me if I'm wrong.
The fuqaha knew better than you
@@Shaykhraadgems Not all scholars say the same things.
Thank you sm for this !! Will work on this and may Allah SWT bless you and your familyy

@@zero-x8579 guy above commented how music is not haram just abound this guys
JazakaAllah Khair akhi.
this is narrated by Imam Bukhari in a section of his book where he places hadith which are not authentic according to his condition.
So would Allah put us in hell (thats what haram leads to) without a clear message?
Surah Anaam verse 119 says "We have clearly explained whatever is haram upon you"
There is no clear authentic verse or hadith about music being haram.
Also, in this hadith it mentions fornication and silk and alcohol which are clearly haram through verses of the Quran and hadith which are clear and authentic but the word "maazif" (which is loosely translated as musical instruments) is not
mentioned in any verse or authentic and clear hadith.
Your going against consensus of the ummah on this issue, and the prophet ﷺ says: إنَّ اللَّهَ قد أجارَ أمَّتي أن تجتمِعَ علَى ضلالةٍ
“Indeed Allah has protected my ummah from uniting on a misguidance”
@@yahyayoki there’s many scholars and Hadiths denying that, I’d say a bit are authentic, but majority I’m not sure
@@yahyayokithe closest thing the ayah could talk about is lyrics, but musical instruments doesn’t make sense
You were upto point using authentic references ..
The ruling on music in Islam is debated among scholars, with different views:
Thanks
May Allah guide us all to the straight path and make us people who always practice and always love al quran in our live ❤ im still in journey too 🤲 sorry if my world wrong too
sorry if my english not actualy good im still using google translate too
The difference of opinion when it comes to music is not to be considered as much as other differences in opinion, due to the fact that the 4 madhahib agree on the fact that it’s haram. The only scholar I’m aware of who said it’s halal is Ibn Hazm, but even then we can agree that music then is much different than music now. God knows if ibn hazm would say nowadays music is permissible
@@livingwarrobots4119 you welcome
This really helped me answer my question keep posting!
music doesnt actually help you focus better. It just screws you up. When you listen to music while studying, you get used to it and when you dont have access to it anymore, you wont be able to sit in silence or focus without it.
Thank you for spreading the message brother ❤
4:39 what about video games that our kids are playing , should I turn the music off from the sittings or just stop them from playing
As long as the game itself is halal then yes just muting the music is fine inshallah. As long as it's done in moderation and doesn't prevent them from doing their obligation
Thanks
@@adoo8505 I do that
Jazakallahu khair, thank you for the knowledge brother.
What about percussion instruments like the daff which even the most conservative scholars allow? Is clapping and snapping allowed. Nasheeds without vocals also influence emotion is that haram? Jazakallah
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:
Indeed, it known from the religion of Islam by necessity that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] did not legislate for the righteous of his Ummah, the devout worshippers and the Zuhhaad (i.e. those who suffice only with necessities of life) amongst them to gather together to listen to melodic poetic verses whilst clapping, striking with a rod or a Duff. And since singing, playing the duff and clapping are the actions of women, the Salaf called the men who did that effeminate, and they called the singing men effeminate, and this is well known in their speech.
thank you brother! may Allah bless you :)
thank you for this video may allah reward you but how can you say its a major sin?
I’m just quoting what the scholars have said
Because it is
Back when I was a kid- I was ignorant of this ruling, but when I came to learn of it- it made perfect sense.
Personally, the issue for me is not the legality of Music- it's the fact that enforcing this ruling is becoming harder every day.
Going to the Grocery? Music is being played on the speakers.
Going to Eat out? Music
Travelling through town?
But- the harder part is not this- it’s during social functions and events-
Going on a car trip? People want to play music.
Wedding? Most of the highlights will be of the Music and other Haram elements (free-mixing, “Hijabs”- but it’s following Bani Israeel standards (like they broke the Sabbath Embargo), etc.)
Messaging Group Chats/ Social Media- filled with Music.
Ameen
In 3:35 you said that singing brings hypocrisy so i’m a little bit confused did you mean by that musical instrument or singing with vocal chords ?
Singing without musical instruments are MUBAH. I mean if it has bad words, shirk,... it is Haram if it does not have any of those you can sing☺️✅

Also I want to mension that I only play for myself, I do not publish anything or listen to anything else
Allah knows and you do not know.” 2:216
May Allah make it easy for you.
music is sound it has frequencies, and it affects humans, which in turn can help negative entities to take over easily, like music can create trance, it can weaken your own energies and frequencies, entities like J!nn, can find opportunities to take over someone easily when someone is already so lost in the trance, this is just my inexperienced deduction I can be totally wrong, but I do believe music being frequency have physical impact on humans and living being good or bad too little or a lot, but we can never know which music can be good which can be bad how much is it affecting us in a good way or bad way, it is something that can escalate into bad, it is better to stay away from it since it's a factor beyond our own control and affects us, it already affects dopamine levels, also it remains in our memory sometimes all you need is just to listen to it once, it may not be something you deliberately listened to, but heard randomly somewhere, the piece of music can be so impactful that it lingers on in memory, it repeats in our head, imagine instead of Ayah of Quran Kareem we have music being repeated in our heads, this in the long run can weaken memories, lyrics or not music is anyway a thing which has no profound usage, we must protect our minds and our memories, it is not just about a song being profane and filthy a nice song too is just useless, music and tunes are useless for us, they occupy our brains storage which should only be occupied with Zhikr of Allah Subhanawata'alah and his Holy Quran and Hadees and all positive things.
Really liked your explanation.. MashaAllah..
Appreciate the evidences based on Quran and Hadith. May Allah swt grant you jannatul firdaous.

Also, the wearing of silk is permissible for women :)
Islam is a religion that has rulings that are in the middle and not extreme. For example we can't gamble but we can still play games and have fun. In fact I'd argue that singing is 100 times worse than just instruments, but it is what it is.
