Love it! Tc only and tyres not great for application? You can't argue with that! I own a disco 2 landmark like this and love it! I would agree that deep mud like that at tge end is the disco 2 nemesis......but then show me a 4x4 that would not struggle with deep wet mud?
Hello. I'm interested to know what lights you have on your bullbar. I have a disco 2 with a xrox bar and looking to add lights. Interested to know what you have done, specifically the size of the lights. Thanks.
The bar offers good approach angles and lots of mount options for lights etc but not as great for an animal strike on the side, bonus however is that the side bits are replaceable if you damage them. No idea who built the rack.
I love the rig, but why can't it find traction. Doesn't this model have a rear locking diff. Can you install a front locking diff. It just seems all the power goes to the "free" wheel.
No locking diffs and “lazy front caliper”, so no traction control either. I supose you use the CDL, but sometimes it’s not enough. Really well driven!! Nice video
İ guess there’s a stall problem, thats why you are flooring the gas pedal. You have to be patient for the traction control to operate, you know that! Also a center diff would be nicer..
not really, we have discovery 1,2 and 3 in our family. 2 and 3 are stock but 3 goes off-road as well if not better than a modded mk1. Air suspension makes it great on road and when you lift it its higher than mk1 too (2 inch lift). If you don't drive one don't talk, I don't like the design of mk5 but if you need to choose I wouldn't hesitate to go for mk4, great car especially with 3.0 petrol engine
TVR161 I had the same problem with my disco its not the calipers at all inside the abs modual it has two pumps ran by one electric motor the return spring on the pumps snap and you won't get and pressure going two of the calipers no computer scanner will pick this fault up change the abs modual your traction control sucks compared to mine
ok, total new guy question here. I am not trying to be jerk and this is a legit question. Is that normal performance from a Discovery II? I have always heard they were pretty awesome off road. I am coming from a lifted 1986 Chevy Blazer with lockers front and back and a winch to boot. I am getting to old to beat my brains out rock crawling any more and looking for a softer ride. Any info would be appreciated.
@@TVR161 If you have CDL was it engaged, something is not right ? As has been suggested watch the power with TC, it requires more driver input without CDL. Suspension need to be soft on a DII not rock hard unless you are carrying a load of kit. And how did you find the BFG tyres, looked like they were struggling with Watagans mud ?

Well done that man. Someone who knows how to utilise the traction control.
Someone needs a diff lock!
That TD5 sounds excellent
EXcellent video, thanks for sharing it with us !
I would love to come and have a try on your trails !
Your rig would eat them up mate.
DISCO 2004 IHAVE FOR 6YEARS , MOST BEATIFULL CAR EVER ,
Doesn't he use diff lock?
Fuck me mate you work that old disco hard and great to see somebody who knows how to use traction control to its full advantage!
what's up with your tc doesn't look to be working very well
Old disco TC is slow to respond but definitely working here otherwise as soon as he lifted a wheel, he'd be completely stuck.
These cars are insane.
The first one looks like the tc was off ?🤔
Love it!

Enjoyable video- Who built your alloy roof rack? Very nice. Do you like you bullbar setup - any down sides to this style of bar?

Beautiful.
Skillful

No locking Diffs
None the less, awesome looking rig bud.

un 10 para el conductor, fino con calma y viendo bien como trazar las maniobras.
Gracias
How are the new discoveries compared to the old ones?
old ones are built like trucks new ones are for pussies

8:24 what he was thinking ??? Mud is the biggest enemy of discovery 2 ..
I take mine thru mud all the time. It's just fine
Traction control seems to be struggling??
Front left caliper is a bit lazy.
Well you could have serviced it while it was in the air. Who needs a hoist with you around?

That is pretty great off-road... But what he really needs is some differential lockers
my disco 2 td5 no diff lock.year 2003 model.diff lock definately help..
Centre diff lock?
Yes Centre diff lock and Traction Control
great video! congrats!

D2 BEASTMODE!!!
did you have a lift?
2 inch Dobinsons lift
Ive got a 2003 disco and found the best way to maximise traction control is to let the wheels spin slowly, don't floor it like that
I find mine tends to stall a bit when TC kicks in at low revs, which is generally why I give it a bit more right foot than necessary.
Ahh got ya.. yours is a manual right? We are also from Vic (judging by your plates).
Yup 5 Speed Manual, 370,000km old....
Whats done to the td5 disco exhuast and motor?
Stock motor with 370,000km and factory exhaust with mufflers replaced with straight pipes.
so is the rear muffler straight through as well?
Yeah basically both mufflers were cut out and just replaced with pipe.
And how is it with Droning? At say 100kmph?
I only really notice drone when towing.
245 75 or 265 75? looks the goods
265/70/16

JANK NO GOOD 🤗🤗🤗
turbo sounds healthy as can be..
Its easier with TC or locks
Example of Why you need lockers
Traction control fail
I won't buy a discovery without a center locking differential.
Or you could put one in..
use the Blocked Diferential MAN !!!,,,,

Damb not a series 2 that sucks hard

je le trouve un peu bourrin des fois. il conduit à l américaine comme s il avait un gros truck V8

Damn, I cannot stand the rickety noise of that td5. Crappiest sounding Disco of them all.
Geez painfull to watch...
