Lenskart wants to build a “mega factory” in Bengaluru
1. Lenskart wants to build a “mega factory” in Bengaluru and Peyush Bansal has gone on LinkedIn to find the land for his factory.
2. This mega factory is expected to be spread over 25 acres of land and he wants to build it within 60 kilometers of the Bengaluru Airport.
3. And if that’s the case, this will be more than twice the size of Lenskart’s largest manufacturing facility which is currently in Bhiwadi (Rajasthan).

1. Even though Bengaluru is considered India’s Silicon Valley, let’s not forget that this city is going through one of the worst water crises in its 500-year history.
2. Boson White Water has a solution for that.
3. Remember this video of Bill Gates drinking water that was converted from poop? Yeah, that’s pretty much what Boson White Water is doing.
Ather launches Rizta
1. Ather held their community day event on 6th April and they announced a bunch of new products.
2. And the biggest launch that everyone was waiting for was Ather’s family scooter Rizta.
3. Ather’s Rizta comes in two variants - Rizta S and Rizta Z - the first one is their standard electric scooter which gives you an IDC range of 123 kilometres per charge, while their Rizta Z comes with two battery options giving you a range of 160 kilometres and 123 kilometres respectively.
Ola Cabs shuts down international operation to focus on India
1. Ola has decided to shut down their international ride-hailing business in the UK, Australia and New Zealand by the end of April.
2. But why did they do it?
3. A spokesperson from the company said, “The future of mobility is electric - not just in personal mobility but also for the ridehailing business”.
After Namma Yatri and Rapido, Ola and Uber have decided to launch subscription-based model for their auto drivers
1. Ola and Uber have been criticised by their drivers for charging high commissions but it looks like these companies have decided to not charge any commission from their auto drivers any more.
2. Instead of charging a commission for every ride from the drivers, they will now be charging a fixed fee (daily or weekly fees) from their driver partners.
3. This is great news for the drivers as it will translate to increased earnings for them. But this also means that Ola and Uber will not be offering online payment options and won’t be able to set the fares for these rides.
Swiggy might opt for a confidential IPO filing
1. According to this The Arc report, Swiggy might opt for a confidential IPO filing.
2. Companies have to file a DRHP with the SEBI to get an approval before they can go ahead with their IPO.
3. with a confidential IPO filing, their financials will remain - well confidential until they get approval from SEBI.
Funding
1. This week, Indian startups raised just 29.3 million dollars
2. Mumbai-based AI startup Neysa raised 20 million dollars
3. Bengaluru-based digital lending platform Axio raised 6 million dollars in debt.
4. Gurugram-based online eyewear retailer EyeMyEye raised 2.5 million dollars.
5. Bengaluru-based online pharmacy startup PlatinumRx raised 800,000 dollars in their seed round.
6. Thane-based electric tractor maker AutoNxt Automation has raised an undisclosed amount of funds in their pre-series A round.

Lenskart quality has gone down drastically. I bought 4 glasses back in 2017 before I moved to US. They are all still great and then I bought 2 last year and it has already broken. Hope they bring back that quality. Until then no Lenskart for me.
I remember watching an episode of a program in Pogo as a kid which explained the multistep filtering of sewage water. Glad to see Boson White Water doing it.
Ather’s Rizta looks promising. Let's see how it performs in the market.
Ola backing off from taxi service and Tesla entering Robotaxis is wild. Ola had the market share and introducing their cars into taxi would have boosted their market. But let's see what their plan is.
Bought my wife Lenskart about 2 years back, still working well for her. Although we chose one under their sub brand John Jacobs, which I think is slightly more premium. I guess it's hit and miss with Lenskart and we got lucky.
Currently in the market for an electric scooter. I think Rizta might be a solid choice for me. Will keep an eye on reviews and let the early adopters iron out all the kinks before buying though 😉 for me it's either Ather or OE, and I trust OE less than I trust Ather. -Caleb

Even carl Zeiss will be having their mega factory open within this year near the airport and could be one of the reasons for lenskart to wanting to have their factory situated close to their supplier
He can opt for Tumakuru district. Which is just a hour away from Bangalore
Lenskart specs are great i know some people say that they break but i got mine 6 months back and are still working well i think they should be hwcare😊

Saddest thing for we localities is everyone wants Bengaluru but they don't want Kannada language and our localities are not getting desired jobs in any field or corporates.
Due to rapid expansion even water is scare now.
