Orbo AI: Mumbai-based startup Orbo AI, known from Shark Tank India season 3, founded by Manoj Shinde, Abhit Sinha, and Danish Jamil in 2019, aids personal care brands to cut down customer acquisition costs. Their AI-driven virtual try-on solutions like "virtual make-up" and "virtual hair styling" enhance conversions at less than a rupee per customer. Their latest offering, "BeautyGPT," garnered 1 crore rupees investment, valuing the company at 100 crores. With over 22,000 users within 24 hours of their Shark Tank episode, they now serve 20 customers with 123 more in the pipeline, 54 post-episode.
Neural Garage: Bengaluru-based startup Neural Garage, established by Mandar Natekar, Anjan Banerjee, Subhabrata Debnath, and Subhashish Saha in 2021, tackles a unique challenge: facial expressions synchronization in dubbed content. Their patent-pending AI, VisualDub, aligns lip movements and facial expressions with audio, enhancing authenticity. Major brands like Amazon, Coca-Cola, and Microsoft have utilized their platform for localized ads, with undisclosed major studios and streaming platforms testing their technology.
Niqo Robotics: Niqo Robotics, a Bengaluru-based precision spraying startup, might seem mundane at first, but it's revolutionizing agriculture with its AI technology. Founder Jaisimha Rao explains the process: AI-equipped cameras on tractors swiftly analyze plants, deciding pesticide necessity in a mere 150 milliseconds, significantly cutting chemical costs for farmers by up to 90% while minimizing pesticide residues in food. With over 8.2 million images analyzed across 7 crops in 5 years.
Sarvam AI: Sarvam AI, headquartered in Chennai, addresses the disparity in language model costs for non-English apps. Vivek Raghavan and Pratyush Kumar founded it in 2023, focusing on Indian languages. Their initial release, a Hindi LLM named OpenHaathi, based on Meta's Llama2-7B model, reduces token usage by 3-4X, cutting costs for companies significantly.
Babblebots.ai: Mumbai-based Babblebots.ai addresses the high costs and time-consuming nature of hiring. Founded in 2022 by Roli Gupta and Dhruv Jaglan, they employ advanced LLMs and their proprietary VoiceAI to create "AI Recruiters." These virtual recruiters schedule calls, conduct interviews, and provide detailed candidate reports, saving time and resources for over 70 companies, facilitating over 10,000 interviews.
Unscript: Bengaluru-based Unscript.ai offers a solution for content creation fatigue. Founded by Ritwika Chowdhury and Apurv Jain in 2021, their platform allows users to create digital avatars trained on their own video and audio content. These avatars can generate videos using provided scripts or prompts, aiding businesses in personalized video marketing, significantly boosting conversion rates.
Qure.ai: Mumbai-based Qure.ai, established by Prashant Warrier and Pooja Rao in 2016, utilizes AI to swiftly analyze X-rays and CT scans, delivering detailed reports to radiologists. Within a minute, it accurately identifies conditions like tuberculosis or impending heart failure. This addresses the shortage of radiologists in India, where 1 radiologist serves approximately 70,000 people, reducing diagnosis time from weeks to minutes.
Krutrim AI: Bengaluru's Krutrim AI, spearheaded by Ola's Bhavish Aggarwal since 2023, soared to India's first AI unicorn status post a $50 million fundraising in January 2024. Like Sarvam AI, Krutrim aims to pioneer generative AI for Indian languages but is already in public beta with its foundational model. Despite controversies, they aspire to surpass GPT4 in multiple Indian languages.
InsurStaq: Delhi-based InsurStaq, established by Shivam Kaushik and Mayan Kansal in 2022, offers a generative AI-driven insurance search engine. Simplifying insurance policy comprehension, their platform allows professionals to input queries and swiftly access relevant information, enabling policy comparisons without tedious manual searches. Supported by Nvidia's Inception Program and Microsoft for Startups, it enhances efficiency and accuracy for insurance professionals, potentially boosting sales.
Beatoven.ai: Bengaluru's Beatoven.ai, founded by Mansoor Rahimat Khan and Siddharth Bharadwaj in 2021, employs AI to craft high-quality royalty-free music for content creators. Simplifying the daunting task of finding suitable tracks, Beatoven allows users to specify music type and duration, leveraging its AI model to generate tailored compositions without music expertise. With over 2.4 million dollars raised, their platform serves over 600,000 users globally.

They take the products from China and techs from west and label it. I don't know how long will they survive without any innovation. These psuedonationalism of make in India is not going to successful without private public participation. Look at the r&d investment from government side. That insureGPT looks like a RAG, they scrap and curate a lot of data about insurance policies and uses RAG to provide that data in text. Looks like the easy one in this bunch. No body in India is that capable of building something into a foundational level, as an example you can see that there's no such thing in opensource, everything Indian Companies or developers use are either from an opensource project or a project copied from another country. I have not seen any open source projects from the country. Even an average company or agency working in India depends upon a cracked or gpl based alternative. Here the projects started are either for showing that I have built and good but it doesn't have a business value. Talking about people giving big statements or startup founders like ashneer or anupam or someone else, they don't have a vision seeing ability. Nearly every startup in India is a copy from another country. There's a lot to say about all this stuff but let me not go on. And for the optimistic people who say no you cant say like this or You dont know, please shut ur mouth and go on dreaming.
