i'd argue that every single person that claims to be a DEI expert is posing, because there is no such thing. it'd be like being a cancer doctor that specializes in spreading cancer.

I disagree totally. Matt IS an expert, based on the criteria so-called DEI experts themselves proffer. He exposes just how easily it is for someone to establish themselves as a so-called expert in this faux field of endeavor.

Regardless of the good it did, that show was only ever interested in making money first and foremost, and its methods were questioned by pretty much everyone.

This is almost as absurd as accusing the people behind “to catch a predator” as being dishonest and misleading. I don’t care if Matt straight up lied. He pointed out how insane these powerful people are. None of that is reduced if he was “dishonest”. 🙄
Ironically to catch a predator was legally entrapment and the vast majority of predators caught had to be allowed off Scott free because the means of procuring evidence against them had to be thrown out of court because of police involvement with the show. It certainly humiliated some predators, but it also kind of allowed them to get away with it.

Im not sure who told you that but it is 100% false. There's multiple documentaries about how their lives went after the show. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and point out SOME states can't charge someone with enticement unless there was a real child victim & not a decoy, but thats why they used CT, MI, and so forth. Here's another fact, Chris Hansen did not show up for some of the court hearings, which did result in some cases being dropped. What they did was 100% not entrapment. It would be entrapment IF the decoy contacted first, but that's not the case.

As a Christian, I would certainly argue that exposing lies that lead to death is analogous to undercover police and “legally declared war.” We are at war with the world.

I think it brings up excellent questions of if the ends justify the means. Christians should follow our individual consciences. Some believe there are absolutely no situations in which it's okay to deceive. Some Christians believe there are exceptions.

Maybe instead of criticizing Walsh's tactics as "deception," they should perhaps try questioning why these race "scholars" won't agree to interview him without the disguise. I mean, it's almost like these people actively refuse to speak with anyone who disagrees with them.

I went and saw it with my dad last night here in Canada and I've never heard a theatre crowd laugh so hard and so loud before. People were literally screaming with laughter, especially at the moments where you moved a guy up on the racism scale during the Do the Work Workshop and when DiAngelo pulled out her purse lmao. Elderly black couple sharing the row with us were in tears from laughing so hard.
Giving Ben $30 out of the $15000 fee she received is an insult; but yes, it was hilarious. She expected to pay nothing, personally. The "system" must pay.
And those leftists from mainstream media "reviewed" the film as not funny, bad film and the movie house had just a couple of viewers.
As a Christian I love this. More Christians need to be called out on this. Christians who judge and do little else are the reason we are in this mess in the first place.

I read an article today saying there have been critic scores but not enough critics have rated for it to be published supposedly there is a minimum of 5 and only 4 have seen it and rated supposedly their ratings are pretty high.

if you claim to be so competent on a subject that you are an "expert worthy of an interview", agree to be video interviewed for mass media, accept a $15k fee, and do not completely vet the interviewer beforehand 1) pretty much anything the interviewer legally asks/says/does is in play, fair game 2) you are no expert
In the film, 'Sound of Freedom', no one complained about the deception necessary to uncover the truth of child trafficking. What is it about DEI and the call of racism that ruffles the feathers of those who criticize this movie?

i ALWAYS think about this. there were spies in the bible, and spies are liars. it's acceptable because this is a war. i mean the CIA isn't great, but we'd be far worse off without them, unless there was a simultaneous unilateral dismantling of every single intelligence service on the entire planet. deceptive tactics are not always so bad, and very VERY occasionally the ends does justify the means.
Agreed. The Bible is more nuanced on the subject of lying. This is the problem when people short-hand the Bible. For instance, when you look at the 10 commandments, many people short-hand “do not murder” to “do not kill”. There’s a huge distinction between the two though. Murder is unjustified intentional killing of an innocent person, whereas killing could imply an accident, or even hunting animals. The same thing where in the same passage it says “do not bear false witness against your neighbor”. Many people short-hand that to “do not lie.” It’s just wrong. We can even come up with a more contemporary example: The people who were hiding Jews from the Nazis, should they have told the truth, or even just not lied, when asked if they were hiding Jews? Absolutely not. They rightfully lied like crazy. Should people tell the truth in most circumstances? Yes. But is it always the right thing to do? Clearly not.

Regarding the issue of lying, I think this was more like an undercover sting operation. Another analogy is espionage. There is absolutely nothing wrong or immoral to be deceptive in order to go undercover and expose something that is wrong or evil. I would argue that's doing good work.

But Matt isn't just anyone, Matt is a Christian, which means he has to follow Christian rules all the time... What he did in his movie literally goes against Christianity. All forms of tricking people, including pranks, are clearly forbidden by the Bible, as are cursing and using dirty jokes. Lying in general is a sin but deceiving people in order to embarrass them and laugh at them is even more sinful, it's actually extremely unchristian. Christians are supposed to be nice people who always play fair. Pranks are literally compared to murder in the Bible, it is a sin. For Matt to call himself a Christian and then just ignore the Bible when he disagrees with it is laughable and pathetic and so are all of you who refuse to call him out on the hypocrisy. In this video he didn't even address the main criticism of the person he was responding to, the main criticism being that the deception in his movie is forbidden by the Bible. He just casually ignores the Bible without taking responsibility for it. And you people let him get away with it while he pretends to believe in the Christian God.

I think Matt was exposing the truth letting them be themselves throughout. If they truly believe in DEI why are they embarrassed and offended.
1. You did not lie to them.
2. Even if it was a lie, I believe we are not only permitted but commanded to deceive, apprehend, or otherwise undercut those who are perpetuating evil or falsehoods. Just look at Rahab in Scripture.
3. You spoke to people in a manner that allowed them to open up and, to our benefit, speak honestly to you. May we all be so fortunate.

I was required to be "trained" as a DEI consultant when working a job in corporate America in the early 2000's. Until this movie, I didn't think ANYONE would ever understand (or admit to understanding) the attemped brainwashing, bullying and illogical rhetoric that I endured. Therefore, I simply got through the training and kept my mouth shut.
I follow Jesus. I know that racism is real and still exists, even in myself at times because I am not perfect. I am intentional about challenging my own subtle, internal racist thoughts and feelings -- only by and through the power of the Holy Spirit. I don't agree with the premises and logical conclusions of critical race theory, and as the movie reveals, those premises and conclusions are dangerously divisive.
I loved the movie. I am thankful that the otherwise hidden agendas, feelings, and attitudes of people involved in the movement have been exposed. Going under cover is the ONLY way this movie could have been made.

I watched it. There was absolutely no "deception" whatsoever on the part of walsh or his team. If you thought that was deception, you're probably very weak-minded.
I won't judge if there was deception or not, doesn't matter. Judy Woodward of the PBS News Hour was just called out for lying, 60 Minutes has had to admit deceit a number of times. They all do it. The film is a very important public service.

My wife and I saw your movie over the weekend. I loved it. Laughed at it. My wife was aghast. She didn't know whether to laugh or be mad about it. At one point she said it made her sick to her stomach. Not because she supports the DEI nonsense and you exposed it. It was watching all those pitiful white women going along with it. denny burk is my professor and is an awesome guy. he also thought the movie was hilarious and told us all to watch it. i think his article is more of an exercise of analyzing something a lot of people are talking about from an ethical perspective for the sake of bringing up an interesting point and producing discussion. his decision to write this article is not him wanting to shoot down and criticize any christian that tries to push boundaries (like matt said ) although, yes, there are some christians who incorrectly and unjustly criticize christians that try to push boundaries. Nobody questioned the "methods and morality" of the Borat movies, Bruno, or 60 Minutes when they did the exact same thing. Sounds like they're mostly just upset at getting caught out.
me and my church friends saw borat and it was hilarious. we all went to see bruno and we were like "guys. we can never tell anyone that we saw this movie." (this was in high school and we didn't want to be grounded. now it doesn't really matter.)

Personally, I consider myself an expert in a couple of things. As an expert, I can rather quickly determine if someone is NOT an expert while interacting with someone in an interview setting. As such, the concept of "posing as an expert while fooling actual experts" seems quite improbable, unless the level of interaction is kept quite low. The most likely conclusion I would draw is that Matt is, in fact, a DEI expert.

I think there is a case to see deception as wrong, and still believe that Hebrews 6:18 (ESV): "...it is impossible for God to lie.", or 1 Peter 2:21-22 (ESV) “For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.”

@@Blaise45 It's true lies can be done by more than just words. However, there is a distinction that must be made between lies and deceit. Concealing the truth can be done lawfully. In fact, there are those with evil intentions who are not owed the truth and we most conceal the truth from. There are other times when it is sinful. But telling an untruth, i.e., falsehoods are never justified in the Bible. So I would say lying is an act of commission that is always sinful. Deceit is an act of ommission that may or may not be sinful.

My husband and I saw the movie last night. It was so good! Thank you so much for talking about a topic that we are all too scared to talk about. I even felt nervous going into the theater which is ridiculous on my part.
I watched the film. I think it was very well done, the camera work looked very professional and top notch. The story was excellent as well, how you’re “on a journey”.
In fact, my only criticism is in your own defense of deception. You did not deceive , they deceived themselves by thinking you believed in their cause. You told them you were on a journey… you were. I want to keep my own conscience tender as to wrongs and methods of exposing wrong. I really appreciate your openness in explaining where you are coming from and laying out what was done. I see the deception being worked on the exposed people in the film as being worked on by themselves. "Anti-racist" only means one minutely layed out set of opinions and prescribed actions imposed on people by those who feel they have the right to control. If in depth questions had to be asked by them as to viewpoint, they could have been asked and the agreed on terms written into the contract. The offer of money and in overwhelming pride in their knowledge of how controlled the media is by their shared bias seemed to have greased the tracks on a quick "okay" to a movie contract. I sometimes find Matt to be weak in his arguments and weirdly hyper focused on ultimately irrelevant topics, but everything he said in this video really impressed me. He’s so spot on, and conservatives need to understand everything he said in this video. This was simply excellent.
