Student should understand what those constants and coefficient do to the graph, like the vertical shift and horizontal shift and how value of a can make the graph wider or narrower!! Why are (x - h)^2 = 4p(y - k) and y = ax^2 + bx +c both called standard form of a parabola? It’s very confusing. When having a conversation and referring to standard form, the other person would not know which one I’m talking about if I said standard form.
