I help my son, who is on the spectrum, with his math homework. His school provides no real accommodations for his learning. This is very challenging for me as 11th grade was a long time ago. So I have to scour youtube to try to learn the lesson for his homework so I can help him with it.
You are the 4th teacher I clicked on to learn this material. I was just not getting it and was worried that I could not help him. Then I found this video and everything came together.
Thank you very very much. You are a great teacher.

Hi! Thank you for your videos. Can you help me with a reflection over the y axis? I am studying for my SAT. I got this function y=|-1/2(x+3)|+1. I know this is a horizontal compression and a reflection over the y axis. But they are asking me to find the corresponding points for the points (2,2) and (-2,2) in the parent function. I have tried, but I am doing something wrong because the new coordinates I get are not points in the new function. I don't really know how -1/2 within the absolute value signs affects the new coordinates. Can you give me a hand, please?
