    Led Zeppelin, you never know what you’ll hear, but it is always great. A cute fun song, about Plant & his dog. Plant Page & their families stayed at this cottage, to write music. It’s a cottage named the same & it’s a place Plants family went as a kid. They had No water or electricity there, & very secluded. I say a video where someone went there, then had to use a drone to get closer, beautiful countryside. Thank you for your reaction, & do much more Led Zeppelin, the more you listen the more you’ll love them.

    Bron-Yr-Aur (misspelled as "Bron-Y-Aur on the album) is indeed pronounced like "Bron-er-ire" (well done!) and is a Welsh word that means "golden hills" or "golden breast". It's the name of the cottage in Wales that Robert Plant took Jimmy Page to on vacation and where a majority of their third album was conceived. The cottage had no running water or electricity, so being there necessitated acoustic instruments and battery run tape recorders to capture any bits of inspiration. This third album showcases a lot of a more folk/country aspect of their talent due to these conditions and is consequently quite a different animal of sound in their catalogue. Led Zeppelin was rather unique in that they kept acoustic elements throughout their entire career.

      It's actually called "Bron Yr Aur". They misspelled the name on the album.
      It means "Hill Of Gold".

  • @georgehofgren6123
    @georgehofgren6123 3 месяца назад

    It's pronounced "bron-yer-are".
    It was the name of a boy's school for young men who had gotten in trouble....
    This whole album is a testament to them.
    Many years later, Jimmy Page set up a philanthropy in Bolivia to get young men off the streets, so this was something dear to Zeppelin's hearts.
    The actual album cover Zeppelin had the boys at Bron-y-Aur design.
    Some of the songs on the album are meant to influence the boys not to get into further trouble... suggesting what they'd be missing "around them brick walls"... in this case, the love of a good dog.
    This is ultimately a song about Brotherly Love, and it was moving to see you pick up on it and feel the groove thru the rhythm and Jimmy's fret-work 💙 ~

    Early 70's things were still fairly cool, if you were caught with pot most cops would tell you to dump it in the dirt and grind it in. The system allowed 18 to 24 year old males to drink our beer and howl in the woods. Flip side is any day we're called off to Vietnam. Punk was brewing in London and NYC. 1960's crooners were fading out, keyboards became increasingly popular peaking in the 80's. 1980's is when the World of today began. Safety restrictions and regulations, far higher prices on cars. Permits for recreation, fishing, park access. 1970's were cool.

    Don’t worry, I don’t think the majority of us know how to pronounce this. There’s another song, that we’ve pronounced wrong for decades, there’s a British joke to it. It’s called D’yer Mak’er, it’s a cool Reggae style song. The way it’s pronounced sounds more like Jamaica, I know you’d love that song too, we all did back in the day.
