I’ve found keeping my ring system simple and focusing on what I actually need is key. There are a lot of amazing inserts available for free and purchase. But they don’t all work for my life or needs and often trying to keep too many things updated makes me fail. Making my own inserts or using an insert for a different purpose that makes it work better for me can help as well. I made a list of what I need in my planner. What I need to track and keep track of. And then figured out how to group them so I use them efficiently. And I’m not flipping all the time. Finding the right weekly is a big thing too. But there’s a crazy number of free options. And it’s easy to draw out what you want and test it and find the right layout and the find a resource for it. Really thinking about how you plan and how you need to see your week. I’m also thinking of making a reference binder for things I want access to but don’t need in my planner and don’t need to deal with regularly like home maintenance, recipe stuff, packing lists etc. I think it may work for me better because I don’t like a bunch of stuff in my planner I just flip thru. And don’t like mega chunk.
@@JustScribble thank you for this, I think I need to sit down and reevaluate it all, maybe need to reorganise and cull some inserts. I did try making my own weekly but still didn't feel right, I think this size might end up being a reference binder which I'm not mad about either 😂
I think finding the right weekly will make all the difference for you! And as a mom of 6, I’d caution adding too many things to your planner, sometimes less is more. ❤
I'm so glad to find your video tonight, instant follow:) I find i leave white space on the bottom of my dailies as well. If it really bugs you. You could throw a few lines of memories or micro journaling. But you get used to it, and it doesn’t mean anything, so try not to worry. Your inserts look great. Try to be kind to yourself. it's supposed to hold our scribbles and life things. Finding your favorite weekly will help immensely. Don't wait to take out any pages you dont like. Think fun and functional ❤ Happy birthday! Sending good vibes from Canada ✨️
Thanks for watching and hi from Australia! I think you're right, and I'll probably end up changing my weekly pages for next week to see if that'll help 🤭
I am torn between personal rings and A6 rings as my daily planner . BOTH has served me well . Sometimes less is better and working your way to adding things that work for you and taking away things that don't work . What frustrates me are the weekly layouts . I don't consistently stay in one weekly layout a whole year. I choose my weekly layout for the week according to how busy it gets and what my needs are for the week .
Oh I've never tried an A6! Maybe that's the perfect size for me, sometimes I feel like the personal is a tad too long and prefer the square-ness of the pocket. Yeah idk if I can keep up with changing the weekly layouts 😅 I just end up not using it and things get forgotten so might end up jumping into something else
OMGeez I am about to screenshot and print Paddington for my planner as well LOL so cute 😂 is the plotter weekly on one page for the Bible size? I have plotter inserts for my pocket and the week is on one page with a second page for notes just like the hobo weeks. I love it. I’ve been toying with the thought of personal planning in a personal size Filofax but your video reminds me that I probably don’t want to have all that space to fill up… pocket is my sweet spot…especially for personal planning…work planning is a different thing. I do like that monthly weekly daily cleaning tracker better than the one I am NOT using 😂 also your baby sounds soooo cute.
Do it, Paddington is too cute not to have in a planner 😊 the bible size plotter weekly has two pages but the right side has the lines continuing from the left and that annoys me. I am definitely missing my pocket but the personal size feels nice, I'm trying to love her 🥰
@@Hungrygalstudiosaaah yes the lines continue. Maybe swap out that second page with blank plotter paper…but definitely continue to love her. She’s cute!

You might really like A6 size too. It’s not much wider but shorter so might be a better size for you to fill.

Thank you, I am already seeing that half of the "house" stuff is great in theory but not entirely practical 😅
