I drive a shuttle for patients at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl and I sing this song for patients who are elderly and need a lift.Physically and emotionally...this and any Sinatra is always a crowd favorite
Most people don't know that Jerry was the REAL "BRAINS" and "POWER" Behind "Martin and Lewis"! Dean was just "EYE CANDY"... JERRY was the REAL Brains!
Look up a movie called "A Method to his Madness"! It's an AMAZING Documentary about Jerry! He will ALWAYS be One of my ALL TIME FAV Comedians and Movie Stars! :D
I was on stage with the band that I was in a couple of years ago when our band leader, Tom announced to us all... "Jerry Lewis JUST Passed Away!" He got the "Alert" from his phone. I was behind my Drum Kit and pretended to look down for something because I didn't want my band mates to see me cry.
I had tears in my eyes the ENTIRE Show! But before we started playing the Tom band leader made the announcement to the audience that Jerry had Passed. Then Looked back at ME and smiled and Said... "THIS One's for Jerry! I smiled through my Tears and realized that HE TOO had tears in HIS eyes! At our first break, I learned that JERRY Was one of THE Reasons that Tom Became a Musician! We ALL Played our HEARTS OUT Hoping that maybe... where ever Jerry was... He could hear us! :)
I got ALOT of my sense of humor from watching Jerry Lewis movies! I even did "Door to Door" for the MDA Telethons when I was a kid AND got on TV AND Got a Phone Call from Jerry because my friends and I had gathered SO MUCH Money that Weekend! That was back in about 1975 or 76? I was STOKED to get a Call from MY Comedy Idol! He was VERY Cool and REALLY was sincere about how Proud he was of my Friends and I for gathering SO Much money! We got several THOUSAND Dollars JUST From going "DOOR to DOOR" ALL on our own! We did NOT because we wanted to "IMPRESS" anyone... but because WE Wanted to make a DIFFERENCE and HELP kids LESS fortunate then ourselves! It was JUST the best feeling! :)

Very well put together video! However would have liked to have seen some Bob Hope in there and maybe Sammy Davis Jr. Anyway awesome song, I think of Jerry every time I hear it! R.I.P. legend.

I STILL Say that the character of "BUDDY LOVE" was a 'F-YOU!" To Dino and the "RAT PACK"! Because when Jerry did "The Nutty Professor" He was BOTH the "CLOWN" AND "The COOL GUY!" And from what I have heard... It was that Dino didn't FIGHT for Jerry to be part of the "Rat Pack" with Frank Sinatra, and instead of Jerry they let "Joey Bishop" in. This really upset Jerry, because HE was friends with ALL of those guys!
So after He and Dino split up, He did "The Nutty Professor" and Was BOTH the "GOOF" AND the "EYE CANDY CROONER" and NAILED IT!!!
Or like Robert Wahl had commented about Joey Bishop in "Good Morning Vietnam"... "Why do people think Joey Bishop is Funny! I KNOW Funny and HE is NOT Funny!
Alot of people say Joey Bishop is a GREAT GUY! My DAD'S a Great Guy and HE isn't funny EITHER!"
