You have no idea how this song affected my life back then! I freaking cried to this song so many times! I was 18 back then. I love that someone else cares about it as much as I do. I haven't listened to it in YEARS though. Cheers!
When this commercial dropped... My son was 3 years old. I kid-you-not. My son literally-FROZE-IN-HIS-TRACKS to watch this commercial whenever it was on tv!!! He's 21 years of age and doesn't live with me, but i'm curious to play this video when comes to visit me and see if the same thing happens to him now! 😄😄😄😄
This is a gem of a commercial. When it was first released, I was absolutely mesmerized. It was like the perfect dream. The song… amazing. Just so glad to be reunited.
Very nostalgic. 1st saw this back when I was still in HS. I've always loved the dreamy sense-of-life/aesthetic/feeling/mood which this commercial conveys. always has me feelin' some kinda way 😎🍻💜💙🎶
saw this commercial for the first time in 2003, been listening to this song ever since something about back then is not just nostalgic, but things seemed better back then
Same here! I saw it in Feb of that year during a very uncertain time (early 20s lol) and have listened to the song every Feb since then. Feels timeless now.
I remember being 13 taking my dad’s cassette recorder and taping this commercial and going to Borders asking for help identifying the song. Different times….
Man! I didn’t find it til I was 19. Some chick had it on her MySpace page. I followed the trail and found this song. Which I heard from the commercial when I was 16😢 Angela died a few weeks ago(the singer)
This is it! I remember in 9th grade seeing this commercial and being obsessed with finding this song. Finally i searched in Kazaa, Mitsubishi commercial techno song, and ever since then it's been one of my all time favorite songs.
I was in the 9th grade too!! It took me 3 years to find this song. Before Shazam existed of course. Telepopmusik. Since then my entire taste in music changed and evolved. Who knew a car commercial could change your life. Ironically I just bought an 03 outlander 3 days ago 🤣
omg ... i thought i would never find it!! it took me hours of searches. finally, i did "chill out commercial 2003." thanks so much for posting!!! you are a credit to all music lovers!!
That song!!!! Omg the memories!!! It was in my head and it's been so long I thoUght it was a Kia commercial with the hamsters. Lol The add campaign for Mitsubishi 2002-2003 was legendary!!! Futuristic!
Looking at comments from 11 years ago, 2 years ago, 6 years ago... and someone is gonna look at this comment in another 3 years, 5 years, 9 years. Damn.
One of Mitsubishi good decisions - making a crossover. That’s where the market was headed - unibody utility vehicle with the space of a wagon and the shape of a sports utility vehicle, but in a more compact and comfortable package. And look at where we are now.
Heard this song at the Westin and Shazamed it because I remembered this commercial from years ago; 18 years ago. Song would always pop into my head and now I finally know the artist. Now I’m gonna google the details to see what happened to the actors.
Sigh... I heard this tonight for the first time in so many years. And I remember this commercial also. Breathe is one of those electronic music songs that just makes you feel good. And returning to this now brings back so many memories of times gone by.
came outfor me as a 7th grader...i remember recording the movie gladiator on VHS and i would pause the recording for commercials but when this came on...i was happy that it recorded..because it was my fav commerical...and i said it would be recorded for future purposes in 2013. Thanks RUclips for bringing me at ease...for when i threw away those nasty VHS tapes in 2006.
remember how easy life was in 2003?...11 years later look at All of what's happened in our world...everybody let's make a global movement BACK to the beginning of the millenium...before all of this Hell...
"Remember how easy life was in 2003?" No, my life was miserable then and it's miserable now. The 90's were the last decade before the world went insane!
kevexboy Sure, we think 2025 will look and be different from today, but when we get there it will feel just like today. Technology doesn't move as fast as we would like to think it would be in the future. Other than smartphones it feels just as it was in 2000. The 70's were not so different from the 2010's, we just feel that the fashions and technology is more pervasive. I wasn't even around in the 70's but day to day things aren't so different.
Ahh this is great. This was my first car. I remember watching the commercial and listening to the song on my car driving to see my girlfriend (now wife). Good times.
it's one of the best songs. it makes the commercial. and it brings me back to my fucking happy college days. i remember searching for this song on the internet. ah. i reminisce..
2003 XLS Limited model with 140k caribbean miles on the odometer...still runs very nice, and it have seen a lot a beach weekends!!!...the leather trim still manage to be in good conditions...this commercial made me wanted to buy one...no doubt the best commercial ever!!!
I still believe there is a secret meaning behind this commercial. The man's settles down and gets married. But his wife dies in labor. So that is why it is only the child, the dad and the teddy bear. But then the daughter becomes a teenager and starts doing her own thing so the man is once again left alone, just him and his car.
Ralph Guatelli Nope, he is just imagine his life while riding on the Mitsu...fortunetly, he wears the same clothes at the beggining and the end of the commercial...so it was more of hopeful feelings and dreaming than sadness at the end!! Its still the best commercial ever!!
Best song ever, for a commercial it hits different ❤… now days these commercials got annoying song or idiots singing I nearly throw my tv when their commercials come in tv
Don't know if you still achieve the Mitsubishi adds but trying to find the GH sigma adverts. I know they did a few with a boat or caravan towed by the car but also did a few called spoiled you. They also did a few with the change from Chrysler to Mitsubishi titled gues who's wearing Diamonds. I have the brochures and the newspaper clippings and add but cannot find anywhere the TV ads. Thanks.
Didnt knew this amazing car has THIS amazing commercial. Even to this day this car, especially in bright colors like blue for instance, looks super extra fancy and modern. I love the simplicity of the dashboard. its basically so old school, almost no modern gizmos. We have it for 11 years now (13 years old 2003 model) and besides minor problems its still driving with the right amount of maintenance. Ours is glossy green (the one with glitter in the paint :D ) It looks superb. When outlander became SUV - it died for me as a model. especially with the first "lancer like" front.. UGLY ASS car :D But this, this is the best thing ever. It looks super amazing without the roof racks too, And the plateholder-less front is superb. Sad that we have to have those in lithuania.. and most of the world too. Yeap just procrastinating to not do the studying.. :D oh god. :D
This commercial single-handedly predicted what its like to be an Uber/Lyft driver...
LOL
😂😂😂
On a good night in a big city 🌃
ROTFL!
Looks like he's having fun, so I guess it's a good job to have?
RIP Angela McCluskey, she died this morning sadly. The vocalist.
How much more can the world take from us
RIP
I just spent an hour finding this song, to find this commercial. It's 4 a.m.
Yes, worth it.
Telepopmusik rules!

History repeats itself in 2025 my friend.
I remember watching this commercial as a teen dreaming about having crazy adventures like this guy. Im 38 now, and I'm still waiting 😅
You’re not alone
Haha same boat brother. Saw this as a kid and thought that my adult life would be like this.
Brothers, let's get together and live out this experience.
LMAO! Oh man... I know how you feel.

Man this was actually a good commercial...never thought i would say that. It's so chill.
Brings back good memories of those years.
The artistry of this commercial is still beyond any car commercial that I have ever seen.

What people don't realise is this is actual footage of the world's first Uber driver.

I'm 32 as of right now listening to this. I remember being 13 going on 14 listening to this commercial. One of the best of all time
33 for me. Still brings back so many memories.
Facts
I remember when this commercial first came out, Sept 2002, still one of the best commercials to ever be made.
I love this commercial. It reminds me of life and how we go through different stages.
I love your smile
Thanks so much Mickey. I appreciate that.
You are very welcome . I wish women as elegant as you stayed around my way . I would of found my dream girl by now

nostalgia hit me hard
This is such a vibe I can’t even describe it
i remember when i first saw this commercial and it made me think about my life. 18 years later i still remember that moment
My favorite commercial of all time; very moving.
The concept of Uber was being implanted by the Inception team with this commercial
my favorite commercial of all time.

I can't believe this song is almost 10 yrs old. Watching this commercial brings back good memories from my middle school yrs.

If executives at Mitsubishi were smart, they could make a huge comeback with better cars and this song. America is nostalgic for better times.

The song Breathe - Télépopmusik was also used in 2002 on Peugeots 307 SW launch commercial
This was filmed in Toronto, those flashing lights are Honest Ed's!
***** Place has been sold to developers and is going to be torn down.
