A massive thank you to the band - true gentlemen. My 8- and 6-year old boys are huge Big Country fans. Took them to the Thame Music Festival on Saturday - the band were so kind and let them on the stage to play guitars on Fields of Fire. They'll remember that night forever. Dreams stay with you! Thank you Big Country, a great, great band.
Yes Pam , you know your stuff. It's just a pity that he chose the way he wanted to go. We can only guess the reasons but I think he couldn't get people and record companies to see his talent. A sad loss for all..
@@keironfindlay545 His wife had left him and years later his girlfriend left - both because of his drinking. His girlfriend leaving him was "it" for him. I often think that geniuses are not meant for this world.

OMG THAT MAN COULD SHRED!! I was there when they released this. Always loved this band. I played this cassette until it fell apart."In a Big Country dreams stay with you like a lover's voice,"-one of the most memorable song lines ever written .
Oh i was so lucky to be a teenager at the beginning of the 1980's, no phones to hold up and take away from the performance. This generation have lost something they cannot even comprehend.
@@deadreckoning6288 Yeah.....you actually had 10 more great years on me!! I was in highschool graduated 1986. *MY HEART BREAKS 💔 FOR KIDS TODAY😥 They will never know what it was like to not be attached to cell phones etc. Remember landlines lol I just fear for them!!!*
Fantastic! I remember The Tube as a kid and it was cool as TOTP was so cheesy and wooden being Typical BBC,but C4 was the new channel going forward. RIP Stuart, respect for you and your memory. ✝️🏴
Remember watching this on the Tube - was never into music before that at the age of 14 - it changed my life forever - saw BC 11 times and U2 44 in total before they became what they are today (sellout) - RIP Stuart
i just want to say in the 80s i hated this group because i was stuck in heavy metal syndrome but as a guitar player and mucisian this touches my heart now im more mature much respect
I was lucky enough to see big country several times in the 80s as a dedicated fan, stuart is without doubt the most underrated song writer ,guitar player of his generational the best live band by far.God rest the fabulous stuart Adamson,we miss you.
This band was soooooo under-appreciated; they, to me, are one of the tightest (musically) bands that ever were... RIP Stewart, and thank you, for the great memories of my youth!! Never had the chance to see them live, but, man seeing these live videos, I really missed out.... Thankfully, the music will live forever....
It was around this time I saw them at Hammersmith London 💕 wearing a millits shirt tied at the front with ripped off sleeves and losing my shoes with all the jumping 🤣 Good times 👍🏼 Great Band
A Scots band in Newcastle-as someone from the Toon-a perfect mix! Know Dunfermline n Scotland v well-North of the Border every week n have more affiliation with the Scots than any other part of the UK! Great band!
Here I am, a 64 soon to be 65 yr old sassanach listening to Big C whilst drinking whisky. One of the best bands to come out of the 80's, also one of the most honest bands ever. RIP Stuart x.
A different perspective on this performance taken by the many camera angles and audio quality. Great band, great song... not the usual wind down and exit as only Stuart is heading for the (un)dressing room.
September 2023 and still listening to Big Country. Much Love to All from Knoxville, Tennessee ❤❤❤

World has ever seen
A very spiritual, emotional yet truly soulful song that makes you cry and dance proudly to it's Scottish heritage.
Drove 100 mile round trip in thick fog, in the early '80's to see Big Country.. Well worth the trip..!
Ditto best show I ever saw. (ok it wasnt that foggy for my trip)
what a time it was to be alive! fuck the '60's...gimme the '80's!
RIGHT? Sick of boomer and the 60's!
80's forever! I lived it, it was great!
I tell everybody, that there was no better time to be a teen than the 80's. All the best bands put out their best albums then......
So great to see Stuart go down in the audience to embrace the fans. Such a great band and lead singer. Taken from this world too soon.
He looked so happy and handsome in this
Such a legend and so sad he was not helped when he needed it
Yeah true since his tragic death i cant help but feel he was asking for help in his songs lyrics.
There’s a video about his songwriting and how it could have been a cry for help.
1984 is nearly over guy's love it while it's there, coz I'm telling you in 39 year's from were you guy's are all of you will look back and think shit were did that go. ❤ Happy day's. 🎉
All of that generation now in their 50s and going into the 60s and beyond.
The audience tells you how good Big Country was. Always tore the roof off the place.

Great Band....Great Time! The Brilliant Big Country!
This song always got my feet moving and stirred my Celtic roots. Love The Crossing!
We saw them in concert in 1980's.
Oh i was so lucky to be a teenager at the beginning of the 1980's, no phones to hold up and take away from the performance. This generation have lost something they cannot even comprehend.
They’re all trying to say look at what I’m doing without paying attention to what they’re actually doing. It’s pathetic.
Was a great performance from such an underrated band. Was such a simpler time as well...I really miss the 80's
I love music from the 80’s although I was born in 2006, I agree with you.
In my 20's during the 80's. It was the best of times.

The Crossing sounds like nothing else before or since. Classic
What a great band!!
Another great song by this band. This song from their first album called The Crossing. The entire album is my favorite. It makes me want to dance.
Totally unique guitar sound, drums like galloping horses all generating an awesome feeling, not many can do that.
According to this video, it was shot on my 16th birthday. Awesome 😎
I've got an unknown half brother in Scotland.... when I was younger.... thought Stuart was my brother lol
If I'd known these guys were still around, I'd have seen them, as I was in Scotland last year.❤
What an incredible performance. Wish I was there.
Happy 62nd Birthday Stuart. So very sad that you left this life far too early.God Bless you mate, wherever you are now.

Looking forward to Liverpool Sept 2018. Bit of a trek from Fife but we'll worth to see a great band in a great music city.
Brilliant band. The guitarist were next level. They have a bit of U2 vibe going. But with their own twist. I dig this band.
U2 have this band to thank
