@@epsi1259 the anime is pretty good I'd say. Not anything S tier like Mappa and ufotable shows but the animation is still better than Fairy tail most of the times. Especially some of the bigger fights involving Shiki's Ether gear
Honestly as someone who read the manga dead mount death play is very good and am always looking forward to read the next chapter expected from the creator of dururura
When I first read it I thought it would be like some edgy generic isekai, but that's all just the introduction. It gets interesting when all the characters start meeting each other
I was blind going into Oshi no ko, I was devastated after episode one, also can we talk about how the madmen did a freaking 2 hour long movie as a first episode?
i too went blind into oshi no ko. i didn’t read the info nor did i watch a trailer. i am so happy i did. i don’t know if it’s too early to say this but it may be my favorite anime of all time and we are only 9 episodes in… after this season, this will be the first manga i read.
In all honesty, this season has been wild with new fire shows like Hells Paradise, Heavenly Delusion, Oshi no Ko, Loving Tamara, My Home Hero, etc. Even the sequel we got are straight up fire like Vinland Saga S2, Edens Zero S2, Ancient Magus S2, Dr Stone S3, Demon Slayer S3, etc. I'm actually having a hard time keeping up with all these shows because there are just so many good and interesting ones this season!
Raeliana's summary is misleading. There is no harem or overdramatic misunderstandings. Its straight up romance with political intrigue with good chemistry between the FMC and MC. And the story has a satisfying ending.
If you're wondering why Garnt skipped Pokemon, he didn't, but he didn't put it in the highlight because of the recent copyright stuffs. And in case you want to know, Garnt decided to not watch it.
@@thebatman07 cause he forgot the excitement and interest in knowing about the petrification now that we're getting close to knowing about it he just hasn't even started season 2 and had no idea what was going on in the trailers cause he didn't watch the right one with eng subtitles which could have help hook him into the series again it annoyed me so much and he has no plans to continue anytime soon cause of people who call pretty much any anime mid imo it's just stupid to listen to chat seeing some actual reviews on mal would be much better

So after watching this video I've watched Oshi no Ko and I went into the episode blind, well, I'M DEPRESSED AND DEVASTATED. I was not this shocked by a first episode since Promised Neverland, here i was expecting bubbly cute wholesome idols and instead WTF was that?! Already anime of the year for me, best first episode I've ever seen; I didn't even know it was from the author of Kaguya which is another of my favorite anime by the way.
They did a pretty good job with the three tone switches. It started off looking like an idol anime, slowly switched to a bit of mystery/intrigue, and ended close to horror.
Don't let the silliness fool you, yuusha ga shinda is a legit solid fantasy series. It doesn't try to use the trope it has as a bait, but ACTUALLY using it as a plot device. Also the manga is already completed and it has satisfying ending as well. It has cool plot twists as well and hilarious power levels Edit: THERE’S ACTUALLY A SEQUEL. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT WTF
@@arklainne9365 OP is great but production values are pretty bad. If you like it good enough, for now I am watching it too, but lots of people might be so turned off they'd rather just go read the manga.

I Fell asleep on the 1st episode, it struck me as just another shounen with a stoic OP protag. Meh. Which sucks, cause it did look fine in the trailer.
@@V.U.4six Not to say with how amazing of an adaptation, Doga Kobo produced, they definitely deserve a video of their own. It somehow managed to completely surpass its source, which was already really great.
Not entirely sure how much involved the writer Aka Aksaka was in the advertising but I have a feeling he made sure that Ai was everywhere and anywhere marketable to anime fans… he definitely made a smart move to not only market Ai but also have the first episode be a 90min length film to complete the entire prologue so that the fans would be hyped, and spread it like wildfire to the point that a lot of people will jump in the bandwagon blindly, be captivated by Ai, then have their hearts immediately ripped out, as that scene is gonna spread like wildfire in social media and then quickly be milked dried in less than a week. Leaving only the old/new hardcore fans to hop in the ride to expose the truth. Pretty similar to what happens in the anime. Ai gets marketing opportunities, becomes popular, dies, and news around her gets milked dried in a few days and all that’s left are the hardcore fans
I kept telling my friend to watch it when it first aired since he was prone to spoilers (tiktok obv) and yeah that did happen. He never really got into it since he already knew what was about to happen even if he saw that the anime topped the most popular charts. Also, one youtuber also mentioned this in his spring watchlist. Saying "What is even the point in watching?" Pertaining to the spoilers ruining what was supposed to be an anime full of tension. Even though he was a Rierie simp, the spoilers really defeated the cause for them to watch this anime, so your third point yeah only the real ones stayed including me who loves a good mystery/revenge anime
Jigokuraku, albeit the so called animation reputation on its back is going to be a massive dissapointment. MAPPA fucked up on not getting Sakamoto Days instead. Mashle animation sucked compared to Jigo, yes, but Mashle team did 10x better.
Magical destroyers has one of the coolest openings I've seen, the type that reminds you why you fell in love with the media in the first place. That water scene was so damn pretty
This season, frankly, is very strong and has a lot of anime that I will watch. It is also clear that I will not have any free time to go out with my friends in this season. When my friend asks me: "Hey bro, do you want to go out and hang out today?" My answer will be: "Sorry buddy, I don't have any time. I'm too busy right now with watchin*, I mean with doing my homework."
@@rrteppo Idk this season has oshi no ko, jigokuraku, mashle, magus bride season 2, and plenty of others. There's a lot of shows here with artistic integrity (mashle is mostly dumb fun but its certainly not a guilty pleasure)
I read the webtoon of raeliana and that summary made it sound like a reverse harem but that’s not the case she is only romantically involved with Noah. The story is pretty fun to read with all the mysteries.
I literally stayed up till 2am yesterday to finish reading the Raeliana manhwa and just learned it's getting an anime by watching this.... I'm stoked, genuinely loved that one
its funny his first comment on heavenly delusion was "something sus is going on here" and thats absolutely the entire vibe after the first 2 episodes. its one of those shows that just keeps hinting at something disturbing af but keeps you guessing at what it might be so youre just constantly waiting for everything to go to shit even on the most innocent scenes. also im isekai trash but this season jigokuraku is probably my favorite. its one of those that i find myself looking forward to all week and making me forget about the other shows
the tengoku daimakyou premier was one of the best ive seen in recent memory. no narrator or bunch of internal monologues to lay the scene, they show (not tell) the story, but noooot everything yet you can feel soooomething going on behind the scenes. they use this mystery esque style rly well so you can probably figure out whats happening but still keep you in the dark just enough. reminded me of 20th century boys in a way. it just offers something you cant get by reading the manga. i rly hope the rest of the episodes is just as good as the premier.
@@superfactorial5717 I was hooked on the first episode so much so that I proceeded to binge the manga. I was frustrated at the last chapter. I don't mind sexual themes but the way it's handled in this manga is just weird. It nearly put me off for good. Also it has too many mysteries with no pay offs. I hope the anime will handle it better than the manga.
Kanojo ga Koushaku-tei ni Itta Riyuu is where adaptations of shoujo reincarnation/transmigration/possessor manhwas start to pick up. My Next Life as a Villainess was the introduction and this is where it catches wind in the sails. There is sooooooooooo....oooooooooooooo many of those out there. This is next step for Isekais. Mark.My.Words.
I am now completely caught up to the Oshi no Ko manga (at this time it would be 115). Haven't even seen the anime yet. I honestly decided to experience the series first by reading it instead of just trying to follow along the anime (obviously I will still watch it now, since I'm caught up, and just waiting for the next chapters) That being said, just gonna put my current feelings here, since I don't really know where else, and felt it was appropriate to do it on Garnt's channel since I first heard of the series from his video a while back (which I rewatched, still a good video) GOD DAMN, the fucking drama aspect of this series is getting SOOO GOOD. Jesus I have not desperately binged a manga reading since Blue Period (even more so since I don't read that much manga to begin with). I genuinely cannot recall a single moment of this story ever leaving me bored and unengaged. Don't even think I can fully express my newfound love for this series clearly at the moment. One thing that I will say as a whole that I think was PERFECT, was the story's ability to engage the audience with two different aspects, the world of showbusiness, showing the humanizing, realistic, passionate, yet business driven aspect of it all, and the incredibly addicting drama behind the history of Ai Hoshino, and the actions of her children. Story does a phenomenal job of balancing and intertwining the two ideas together to keep a very consistent and irresistible narrative to follow. I reflect on the story, and I am in genuine disbelief at how absolutely brilliant this was executed. It will most likely not ever become my most favorite series I've ever read, but God damn, there is no way in hell I am EVER forgetting about this manga. Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari truly outdone themselves with this one.
I didn't expect much from the anime, but I've been blown away by the first episode so hard that I binged the whole manga in 3 days, which is quite fast and very unusual for me as I'm usually really slow to read. I've been obsessed by this manga for more than a week now. Definitely one of my all time favorite.
Garnt is highly underestimating Yuusha Ga Shinda! I am no Garnt as I am just a fan. But I have stuck through thick and thin, through sickness and in health, through sorrow and joy, every week for a chapter of this manga. All I could say to you is that, Yuusha Ga Shinda is the most satisfying, gripping, emotional, hilarious, ambitious, epic adventure manga that exist out there. It's extremely underrated for how amazing this manga ended it's journey on top how long and how ridiculous it's story became. It's a masterpiece. Go watch this.
fucking true dude, it's just so shitty but unlike those 'so bad it's good' stuff where being bad makes it funny, this one is so good because it gets real emotional and gets genuinely funny later on despite being a shitty fantasy fanservice machine .
This season actually has two of my top three ongoing romance manga: - BokuYaba: The synopsis and initial story of this series is kinda misleading, but this series actually has one of the best romance progression of the main pair I ever saw in romcom. The two main lead carry the anime, while the support casts are really good at being realistic support characters without distracting from the main focus. - Houkago Amnesia: Really beautiful romance series, very melancholic, personally very relatable, and is one of the series where (slight direction spoiler) it has equal 'this is going to be tragedy' and 'this is going to have great wholesome ending' vibes so you'll ended up watching while praying to God that they will grant happiness to the two main lead.
@@TaseenK I am torn between a few options, but most likely it's The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses (SukiMega). It also happened to have an anime adaptation this year so this is really a blessed year for sweet 1-1 romcom genre.
I just watched Oshi no ko and damn. That was a 10/10 first episode. Arguably one of the greatest first episodes in anime. Hats are off. I fighting myself so much not too read the manga right now
Ranking of Kings Season 2 is the thing I’ve been looking forward to since the first episode of season 1 bruh. It’s already in my top 5 favorites. I cannot get enough. They take “show, don’t tell” and do it better than anyone else. The story sort of forces them to since Boji can’t speak. But it’s the show with the most heart, and their animation style fits it perfectly. Also all the characters are fucking amazing. Despa is an absolute gigachad. Hiling is easily best anime mom. Desha is an actual good ruler. Kage is best hype man and friend.
This is without a doubt the best anime season we've had in years. I've never in my life watched so many new seasonal shows concurrently. I'm actually at a point where I'm overwhelmed by how many incredible shows there are this season
Same case with me. This season is the first time I've trying to look on almost every animes. But sure in the end I will drop few titles considering not all the animes will be worth the effort to watch.
@@Jesterisim yuusha ga shinda is unironically good, BokuYaba is great, then continuations like Gundam, konosuba, magus bride, tonikawa are all good too

As someone who read Dead Mount Death Play, the only thing I can say is. What you got from Durarara!!, you can expect from Dead Mount Death Play as well. If it retains its quality from the first ep, then you're in for a wild ride if you enjoyed Durarara and Baccano
Eden's Zero is the author of Fairy Tail actually putting a focus on romance between the Shiki and Rebecca. Something we wanted to get with Lucy and Natsu...but he chickened out and made a new series...
after watching the first episode of almost every anime this season i like: - Oshi No Ko - Heavenly Delusion - Hell's Paradise - My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999 - Magical Destroyers - Insomniacs After School - KamiKatsu - Konosuba
As a HUGE fan of Revue Starlight, if World Dai Star is even half as interesting, I'm really going to enjoy it. The first episode already planted some seeds for a potentially really interesting story. Magical Destroyers, Oshi No Ko, and the new seasons of Birdie Wing, Dr. Stone, and Gundam are the other shows I'm super excited about this season.
You should read oshi no ko’s manga dude it starts off strong but I feel like some arcs just get too dragged on. Still a great read but I definitely think Jigokuraku is way better
Watching (and reading) skip to loafer made me feel things i never knew existed before. It feels strange to 'relate' to problems that occurred in girl-friendship-group as a bearded dude in his twenties. Most of the side characters are well written i would say.
If you're a fan of the Konosuba anime, I really recommend that you read the light novels. They're honestely even more amazing than the anime. Garnt mentioned that he has never seen Konosuba do serious well, but that's mostly because the anime usually skims through the more serious moments. The serious moments in the light novel are actually done incredibly well and don't actually disturb the comedy, which is what is happening most of the time. If you love the Konosuba anime, I couldn't recommend the light novel more.
I loved the Konosuba movie, but there were some really good serious moments in the novel that they skipped, like when Megumin was asking Kazuma about his past life and why he never had a girlfriend before. Still one of my favorite movies
@@jonahdewitt2158 oh man, I loved the movie until I read the LN... the movie actual butchered it sooo much it feels sad... they skipped a whole night of megumin+kazuma, skipped the whole journey to the Crimson Village, including the Tranquility Girl and their talk at night, when she fells asleep holding Kazuma's hands... skips their city tour... skips the rookie killer... and skips a lot of dialogue from their final interaction, when Kazuma invests her points into explosion, and for what... for an extended fight VS Sylvia... :( I was sad after reading it
@@RafaelSouza-om1mx To be fair, it was a really awesome fight, and I loved the Megumin + Yunyun team-up explosion. I just hope in S3, they can go back and add the megumin and kazuma dialogue by the campfire. It was a really touching moment that added a lot of character to Kazuma.
*Jigokuraku/ Hell's Paradise* exceeded my expectations in terms of pacing, character design and how they flesh them out, the directing and the music are lovely as well, I definitely recommend it alongside *The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion* (which I still didn't get the chance to watch but I know the webtoon is to die for and the premise definitely makes it one of those "villainess reincarnation... BUT" type of Isekai. The intrigue in the trailer hints at some romance along with lots of mistery and socio-political issues to discover. I'm very excited, definitely one of the best if not THE BEST of the genre I've had the pleasure of seeing teased and airing so far. Along with that, I wanna say the one about the "Shinigami" girl in elementary school? Adorable, just started it and I'm melting, it's very Slice of Life, first crush, comedy, absolute must-watch to release the tension from all the other intrigues and sad plots. *(ADHD Edit)* I FORGOT DANGERS IN MY HEART how could I?! I've been waiting for it since the teaser came out as well and it may just be my top 3 Romance anime of all time thus far! Trying to make my scaredy-cat boyfriend watch it with me, because he's scared of the synopsis QwQ
Please please please post the Vod I know it's a long stream but this is one of my favourite videos you post and I like seeing your reactions to ever anime
I hope people give The Sacrificial Princess and The King of Beasts a chance. Even though a lot of people will just dismiss at "Haha Beauty and the Beast clone furry trash.", it's one of the coziest and most comforting stories I've ever read. I have some hope for the anime with it having lots of good VA's, Sawano's disciple for the OST, and a hella good director. But even if the anime comes out mid, I hope it shows to people how good the story is, and how much more attention it deserves. It's one of my favorite Shojos of all time, and I hope it isn't forgotten to time.
Real question here, why did you skip and edit out Dr. Stone? We even saw that it was played in the RUclips spring anime 2023 playlist you had. Proud of you for finally skipping an isekai though.
I started Mahoutsukai no Yome S2 and really got reminded how much i love this series. Season 1 was so good and Season 2 also looks very promising already.
Just watched Suzume and honestly surprised how good it is. The trailer sure did make it look like another Kimi no Nawa. Hope Garnt watch it, I wanna see what he thinks.
The megumin anime is not at all serious, and is litterally more Konosuba with megumin as the lead. If you love konosuba, and you love megumin, it is easily a must watch.
On tengoku daimakyou, I've seen ep1 and I've been a fan of the manga for about a yr now. I double checked, this episode was ENTIRELY CANON AND ALSO GORGEOISLY ANIMATED AND VOICE ACTED MUST WATCH FROM ME
Since im first here, i am going to use this oppurtunti to say that domestic girlfreind was the third anime I ever watched. What a cursed way to enter the world of romance anime, (just kidding it was great)
I'll say my first romance anime/manga was Berserk (the Golden Age arc had like 6 love triangles going on). I don't typically watch romance anime, and I refuse to consider Harem-RomComs as romance (looking at you Tenshi and Love Hina).
If we do not count Pokemon and anime I've partially watched as a very little kid on TV and don't remember properly (Sailor Moon, Shaman King, Fullmetal Alchemist, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle) then my very first anime I consciously watched was "Recently my sister is unusual". My second was "A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist" and my third was "Yamada's First Time: B Gata H Kei". So, my way to enter the world of romance anime was even more cursed, and there are no one to blame except myself. However my 4th anime was "Kiss x Sis" and it is the first one I still have warm feelings towards

Eden’s Zero is what fairytale could have been if it was written better. The author has learned and evolved from his time on fairytale and has made an excellent manga.
I actually can’t comment on the anime though since I’m actually yet to watch it
@@epsi1259 the anime is pretty good I'd say. Not anything S tier like Mappa and ufotable shows but the animation is still better than Fairy tail most of the times. Especially some of the bigger fights involving Shiki's Ether gear

And the story has a satisfying ending.
bro I did not even know it got an anime and when I saw the cover my heart skipped a beat. My favourite romance webtoon
Does it have fangirling side characters who are also in love with fmc or mc? I m tired of it.

Same, was just getting comfy with what I thought the plot was about before I was robbed of joy.
They did a pretty good job with the three tone switches. It started off looking like an idol anime, slowly switched to a bit of mystery/intrigue, and ended close to horror.
Is it just me or is this season's line up like really good. Like everything looks like a must watch for me
Is it just me or has everyone forgotten about Dr stone?
Don't let the silliness fool you, yuusha ga shinda is a legit solid fantasy series. It doesn't try to use the trope it has as a bait, but ACTUALLY using it as a plot device. Also the manga is already completed and it has satisfying ending as well. It has cool plot twists as well and hilarious power levels
Edit: THERE’S ACTUALLY A SEQUEL. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT WTF
The Humour is top tier I fucking love blake 'the adventurer who defeated 100 four dukes'.
Problem is sadly the anime seems a pretty mediocre adaptation. Animation is bad and comedic timing is kinda missing. Manga was awesome though.
Also they transliterated Blake as Buraku on CR and I died inside.
@@HaganeNoGijutsushi Nope, I watched it and the Adaptation fits well with the style of the Manga, definetely 10/10 to me, also the OP slaps hard

I expect a full apology for giving Hells Paradise a 3 ep only. Show slaps in two episodes.
The show only needed like 5 minutes for me
I have no clue about what the show is about even, but I did still say, Hell's paradise looked a lot more interesting than Mashle. Don't know how he gave the latter a Must watch.
@dumbledore_loves_anime from Dumbledore that means a lot.

The baby's swinging the glow sticks still crack me up 😂
Ai's reaction from the stage in that scene was amazing too

I mean was it really that surprising? Why else would the dad hide the son?
This is like people that kill baby albinos
I went in with no expectations other than black clover but a comedy. The casual eugenics had me feeling strange
Jigokuraku, albeit the so called animation reputation on its back is going to be a massive dissapointment. MAPPA fucked up on not getting Sakamoto Days instead. Mashle animation sucked compared to Jigo, yes, but Mashle team did 10x better.
it gets even worse lmao, both in comedy and plot
True, although in Mashle's case while he may not have magic he's also a long way from being normal.
Magical destroyers has one of the coolest openings I've seen, the type that reminds you why you fell in love with the media in the first place. That water scene was so damn pretty
Animation alone in the OP sold me 100%
Heavenly delutions is too good... It have the mystery, the music, the animation, the pacing... Hooked from the very first episode
The best part about these types of videos is hearing Garnt's improvement on the japanese pronunciation over time, good job on ur progress, Garnt!
This season, frankly, is very strong and has a lot of anime that I will watch. It is also clear that I will not have any free time to go out with my friends in this season.

I honestly decided to experience the series first by reading it instead of just trying to follow along the anime (obviously I will still watch it now, since I'm caught up, and just waiting for the next chapters)
That being said, just gonna put my current feelings here, since I don't really know where else, and felt it was appropriate to do it on Garnt's channel since I first heard of the series from his video a while back (which I rewatched, still a good video)
GOD DAMN, the fucking drama aspect of this series is getting SOOO GOOD.
Kind of ironic how I searched up to see if he’s done a video on spring yet this year earlier today. AND HERE IT IS
Garnt is highly underestimating Yuusha Ga Shinda!

This season actually has two of my top three ongoing romance manga:
- BokuYaba: The synopsis and initial story of this series is kinda misleading, but this series actually has one of the best romance progression of the main pair I ever saw in romcom.
Yea BokuYaba really has a meh synopsis, hope he watches all of it cause it's definitely one of the best romcoms out there
What is the third one?

If you're a fan of the Konosuba anime, I really recommend that you read the light novels. They're honestely even more amazing than the anime. Garnt mentioned that he has never seen Konosuba do serious well, but that's mostly because the anime usually skims through the more serious moments. The serious moments in the light novel are actually done incredibly well and don't actually disturb the comedy, which is what is happening most of the time.
If you love the Konosuba anime, I couldn't recommend the light novel more.

Edomae elf is actually pretty good, really wholesome and comfy anime
Since im first here, i am going to use this oppurtunti to say that domestic girlfreind was the third anime I ever watched. What a cursed way to enter the world of romance anime, (just kidding it was great)
Domestic gf is actually a good romance if you're into sisters
I'm actually really enjoying my one hit kill sister but I hated domestic girlfriend, one of the worst romance anime I've ever seen.
