True, thoigh as someone with arab family on my father's side, that's not far from how our grandmother would use butter and oil on her (albeit way better) recipes ahaha. (She wasn't obese though...but it wasn't rare in her generation for women to be regular overweight)

Girl, I don't know what you thought you were doing, but people all over Texas and Mexico felt a shift in the Force of TexMex when you made those fajitas. Next time: the meat, onions and peppers are grilled, not cooked like that with liquid and stuff. No reducing. A TINY bit of oil in a skillet, and just grill it up quick. And don't bother making it if you don't have all the proper fixings: lettuce, tomato, the right beans (baked beans ain't it). A fajita should be a light, yummy dish, not a weighty clunky thing like that. FAR too much yogurt. Just a splash on it as you're wrapping it up, not a whole tablespoon with every bite. Plain tortilla, and warp it up in the air fryer for a couple mins (wrapped in tin foil). That way it's more bendable. That was a crime against fajita-kind. Don't repeat it or the ghost of 1000 taqueria owners will rise up and haunt you!

I'm native american and Puerto Rican and gosh I know that's not a fajita
Filet the chicken breast down the side to make two thin pieces. If your chicken is thinner it will grill up faster. Grill the veggies up in long slices with just a little olive oil and seasoning. When the meat and vegetables are done squeeze some lemon or lime juice on before eating it . Try some pinto beans or black beans for the side next time . If you have fresh cilantro you could toss a little on top of the fajitas, add pico, tiny bit of sour cream , some avocado or guacamole, and even sliced jalapeño. Just go easy on the toppings. If you squeeze some lemon or lime or both on it you might not really need anything on them other than the meat and veggies.

Yummy!!! 🤗 About spending the night with my friends that's a whole nother nightmare because my parents would start fighting physically fighting my dad was an alcoholic my mom would say that he was cheating on her he was in the Army at that time so my mom would say we're going to have it out we're going to have a big fight so both of you me and my brother would have to go to a friend's house I would go outside and ask him where do I go he goes I don't know just go to a friend's house and he would go the other way and thankfully there was a older teenager in the neighborhood that I seen here and there and I went to her house and said my parents are fighting can I please spend the night and she said come on in come on in so I pray God blessed her and her family 😔🙏

Cranberry juice and fajitas is a cross-cultural combo I never could have imagined! (Maybe just a splash in some mineral water would be better?) This looked so fun to make and eat ~ I love the onions and peppers! And the yogurt! Yogurt is so underrated, but it goes so well on everything! I often put it on my potatoes. And for dessert, I’ll add frozen berries, cinnamon or cocoa for a make-do ice cream. It’s delicious! Yay, yogurt!! 🥰

I always got homesick on sleepovers 😂 I had like one friend maybe two who I could sleep thru the night but most sleepovers resulted in me crawling into the kitchen to call my mom & whisper into the phone MAM IM SCARED COME GET MEEE
