- Hello, EFM family! Nice to have you all here with us today! We are getting closer and closer to Christmas and 2024! This year has flown by!
Today, we answer more of your questions!
i had someone mention Priscilla's age recently- and I had to let them know my family is Southern, and my grandma was 15 and grandpa was 26!!! that was normal them. I always have to remind people that they need to look at things through the lense of that period of time. We can't judge history using what is "normal" today!!
Thank you! Lived in Ohio my first 42 years and it was the same there! When I was 16 I was dating a 24 year old and nobody thought anything about it. It Was different times back then! I tried dating within my age range but guys were too immature to me. I was always around adults and had adult responsibilities and helped raise my siblings. I lived on my own from17 to 25. A week after I turned 24 I met my husband who was almost 17 years older and had been married 2 times and had 4 kids( I had 1) we got married when I was 25abd we had a son 😂 we raised all 6 children and 3 grands. We were married 43 years until he passed on. As you can guess he didn't have money 😂 we worked our tail off and had a wonderful life! I've lived in the south for 35 years now in his home state. His family was always accepting as well as his mama, and they are my family along with our kids, grands and great grands. So people that don't know what they are talking about should just hush! I'm sick of the rude things people say about Elvis liking young girls! They were if age and Elvis was immature for his age when he met you know who!
She lies so much and a few years later she contradicts herself! The truth always comes out😂

Maybe her parents shouldn't have let her keep going to see him in Germany and then let her go for a visit at 16 and then let her move to Memphis at 17 when she only had two months till she graduated and turned 18 and finished school in Memphis, sounds to me her parents had no control over her, at least they didn't marry till she was 21. I put more blame on her parents.
In the documentary "All the Kings Men" Billy says that after they played racquetball Elvis wanted Billy to wash his hair an in the documentary Billy says He washed Elvis's hair and said it was the closest thing to a bath Elvis got at that time.
Yes. He did say that. I know memory is a funny thing. I have remembered something a certain way and was proved without a doubt that it happened differently. Billy doesn’t want to disparage Elvis in any way and probably doesn’t remember saying that.
To have had Elvis sing Danny Boy to you personally, is such an amazing blessing. As I’ve shared many times over the years, my Dad, who wasn’t an Elvis fan, was brought to tears the first time he heard him singing it. 🙏❤️🎶
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your videos. It is so very important that the memories of the people who knew the living, breathing Elvis are recorded and saved for history. Letting us get to know you feels like we are getting to know Elvis- you were his family, and you had a very close relationship with Elvis! I just want to say thank you, and we all love you bunches!!

I think ppl are referring to the all the kings men video where billy tells about washing his hair that last morning and Billy says that’s as close to a bath as he got then.
I can only assume one might think he didn’t bathe or shower besides that from the way the statement sounded however I’m sure he meant that moment.

Love your doggies...so Cute!I Thought how very Special Elvis said to Billy he felt Graceland was his Home too. Elvis must have Loved Billy very much like a Brother to want him near him. I do admire Elvis's Love & Devotion to his Family, looking after his Grandmother Minnie, Father & Uncles, giving jobs to those he truly trusted..I can see how wanting Billy always near it would have caused conflict with Jo at times being his Wife/ life partner. She is amazing person. You'd want some time as a Married couple in your own private place with your children. Just Natural!

I know Jo really had some rough years with Elvis always wanting Billy go off with him. Especially after they had children. I kind of had the same situation. My husband and brother in-law were close like Billy and Elvis. (14 months apart in age) They spent every minute of time off of work together and I was home with the kids. My husband was an excellent builder in carpentry and my brother in-law was volunteering him to remodel all our friends basements or taking him in a golf outing etc. When we went camping (all the friends went also) all the men were together and I was doing the cooking and clean up and taking care of the kids. After working hard all week and the kids in school during the week, our family time was very little. After a year or more, I finally got my brother in-law alone and told him, that the weekends were the only time we had to spend together, but we never got to spend family time because we were so busy during the week. (We both played softball during the week) I told him he needed to quit volunteering my husband for all the projects he'd been doing, because we hardly got to see him. I told him I didn't mind sometimes but just not every weekend. He understood and started checking with me before mentioning somebody needed help in something ❤❤ My brother in-law was a bachelor like Elvis so he didn't think of family man time. And like Elvis he loved family! We were closer than my own brother and I were and I really miss him! I took care of him in our home until he passed 😢 I just had a taste of what Jo went through, but really do admire her years of commitment to both Elvis and Billy. Just like Billy my husband appreciated me more as we got older. He'd tell our kids and anyone else around that the reason we were married so long was that I was the only one that would put up with him and that he'd put me through hell😂😂 We were like Billy and Jo, we always teased each other the same way and lived each other's company. I even went hunting with him, because he couldn't get any of the guys to go. Many times froze my tail off and just wanted to be home😂 but we were best friends as well as husband and wife. Marriage takes alot of work and alot of people don't understand. I just Love the Smith family like my own! I so appreciate Danielle for what she does and sharing Billy and Jo with us! I'm a Smith fan as much as I am an Elvis fan! Been an Elvis fan for 65 years so that's saying something 😂😂😂

Billy, Jo, and the rest of the family are special to me.... I share birthdays with Elvis January 8th... I remember the first time I heard an Elvis song, I was 3 years old. That song was In The Ghetto... Then my mom got me the gospel album How Great Thou Art album, and I wore that record out! Well in 1986 I was 6 years old, and I asked my mom if we could go see and meet Elvis, and she said " honey we can't, and I said well why not? She said that Elvis passed away in 77... Oh man I felt like I was hit with a sledge hammer!" Being a little kid I didn't know any better about Elvis not being here anymore... But E was my hero growing up, and I for some reason or another after practicing guitar since I was 6 years old, my voice sounds very eerily like E without trying to sound like him, and I used to do shows in theaters in East Tennessee area singing. People would always try to get me to only sing nothing but Elvis songs! But anyways I enjoy all the stories of E that all of you tell. God Bless you all..

Billy said he washed E's hair that last night, and Billy went on to say, "In those days that's about as close to a bath Elvis would get". So Billy is the one that put that out there. NTM this is common for people sick with drug addiction. It's on video.

Hello, I’m a bit confused about the shower/bathing comment. I remember watching a video clip of Billy stating about Elvis’ last night. States “He helped Elvis wash and dry his hair, because at that time, that was as close to a bath that Elvis would get.” It was on “An Inside Look of the Memphis Mafia” at 55:40 where Billy makes the comment. Can you clarify?

QUESTION : Hi Billy, Jo and Daniele. Is it true that Elvis used to call Donny Osmond's mother for talking to her about his mother ? Donny Osmon also said that his mom was like a "surrogate mom" to Elvis. I heard him saying that in a interview.

My dad told me in 1977, that a coworker found out Elvis had snuck into Duke Hospital in Durham NC, and the word was He was so sick he was definitely going to die, I argued with my dad about it then, but in a few months Elvis died, you guys would know if he disappeared for a day, just wondering, last time I saw Elvis was April 21st,1977 first show of last tour, he looked so sick in his eyes

Did Elvis ever drive y'all back to Tupelo and drive by the various homes, schools, and other places that were important to him when growing up? Did Elvis and y'all ever go back to visit family and friends? I know I've returned to the neighborhood and city where I grew up in, which was in the area of Louisville, Kentucky where Vernon's dad Jessie lived and worked. Of course the community isn't nothing like it used to be, sadly, but nothing stays the same, except our childhood memories. It's heartwarming and yet at the moment heartbreaking seeing that time changes the community that meant so much to us. In other words, did Elvis like to reminisce with you Billy, about family, friends, places and yesteryear?
