      @@toyvt8 It has good low down torque because of the supercharger and good power when you floor it. The 4spd auto is good for highway cruising and fuel economy as well, really happy with the swap. The stock 202 is an absolute slug to get moving and would guzzle gas.

    Scotty, looks like it’s too late now but you can mix and match bearings. Eg. If the STD bearings are too tight and the Extra clearance are too loose, you can use one of each to split the difference to try get the clearances where they need to be. No bullshit.
    Anyway, good luck and thanks for another good episode.

      Mate, if gapping rings are gonna be an ongoing thing in future builds, it's well worth it. I also felt it gave a better finish to the ring ends.
      Sit down with some old rings, work out a new gap measurement and go at it...best way to learn.

    Scotty, dial bore gauge across the lot is a little more scientific imo, but that just my 2 cents. Nominal size miked to zero and youll get a comparitive reading to the zeroed DBG to mike if that makes sense. Them telescoping gauge dooffers can read hows ya father as u have to be perfectly square on both axis when u lock up where as DBG is more direct. See how u go. Love the diy buzz 100%.😃

    • @dmc5681
      @dmc5681 3 года назад

      Yeah dial bore gauge is much better than the telescope gauge. Plus you’re supposed to measure the vertical dimensions of the bore as the bearings near part line get thinner to allow for the bore contraction as it gets loaded

    Anyone would think that you know what you’re doing Scotty 👌🏻

    Why wouldn't you mock up all the caps & finger tight all the bolts first before doing all the bolts up at increments. You would save time by not charging the setting on the torque wrench three times for every cap?

      I guess so. I just wanted to make sure it all felt good going together.

    Not wanting to be a 'Mona Lisa' but why do Oz motor heads use bi-lingual measurements - metric/imperial. I learnt metric midway through 7th grade and that was a while back. I'd have half an excuse being an old 'see you next Tuesday'.

      I'm old as well, so I think in metric and imperial

      @@STREETMACHINETV - for machining I sort of can understand but for power output it reminds me a bit like fluffing. Get a larger figure to impress. Sorry, a pet hate.

    This is why i tunnel bore the mains and grind the cranks just to be sure . Costs fuck all and i know eveything is the same size . Holden engines were all over the place . I dont like monday or friday engines . I like wednesday engine builds because its all good on a wednesday with machines and people .
