Who cares how you rebuild your motor Scotty stuff the haters
Might come as a surprise to a lot of RUclips engine rebuild experts out there that engines have been built in garages like this for decades. Reality is the motor will go back in and last far longer than it would if this hadn’t been done. Scotty was honest from the start and said this was going to be a garage hone job. Im grateful he went to the trouble of measuring the bottom end properly and used it as an opportunity to show viewers who have no idea what to do instead throwing it back together with plasti gauge which still would of worked. No decent engine builder will sit here and rip in to a bloke building an engine for their viewers it’s always the wankers with little or no experience in build a motor who comment in an attempt to try and prove to the world they know something, to be honest it probably proves the opposite.
Boom. Well said.
Well said dude
Funny but it is usually the people who don't know the first thing about engine building that rag on the people that do. Just because they don't know what they are doing doesn't mean that the rest of us haven't been building engines for decades in our garages. There is nothing real special required to build an engine except patience and bit of common sense. OK so the common sense probably does rule out half of the RUclips viewers... but not every person who makes a comment doesn't know what they are talking about, some of us actually do.
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering That bit of knowledge they know is enough to be dangerous...
Awaits the internet builders that have never picked up a spanner in their life
So true bro 👍
Scotty don't worry about the haters 😂 build it, boost it, send it 😄🇭🇲
I’m about to go through the same job with a 265 Chevy. Just as soon as I get 3 siezed pistons out. Canrnage has given me the confidence to get in and have a go and learn heaps along the way. Keep em coming Scotty.
Scotty, the way you opened up the ring bag is not the way you do it....
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just playing with ya, fuck em, keep up the great content champion.
Slap base and wah wah whilst lubing your rods ...we’ve all been there 😂
Thanks for sharing the whole process boys, keep doing what you are doing!
LMAO "I'm over it" that really tickled my funny bone.Don't you know by now you can't please everyone on the internet.
Scott, the process + the explanation is what counts. Yes, others do different things, but the end result is what counts. The 3800 was mostly in front wheel drive here in the 'States, so we don't see too much of it. Good way to learn.
Yeah, it sucks you guys only got limited RWD 3800 action. They're not too bad.
We Aussies also got manual gearboxes although not with the supercharged version.
So many RUclips engine builders out there.
Most of them probably only built a Lego engine!
Exactly and it’s not a rare motor or collectible. I just want to see it fed some big boost already.
Haha JT man you just killed my "cars are just like Lego" comment I use all the time
my lego engine works just fine thank you
@@alt7488 well mine has 3d printed h beam rods.
Standing Lego 1/4 in 2.4 seconds!
Not even as far as the engineering level as putting a hot dog into a roll... no hands on experience unless it's text book and computer screen
Maybe some of rhe haters are engine builders that are just pissed off that scotty is giving us an honest education on these things. Lets us know when it's a diy job like the hone but takes the time to show us how to do the bottom end as good as any of us could do in our garages. We dont all have access to all the fancy stuff to build something with f1 accuracy for tolerances and the like. This motor will be fine and anyone who builds thiers the same will probably get alot of life out of it. I just watched corfed boost throw a budget l67 together for the guys at nugget without as much care as scotty and he's confident his build will be fine aswell. I like both vids for different reasons. Keep up the good work scotty 👍
"I got so much sh*t, I'm over it!"
I LOVE IT, Scotty!!! You do you and keep at it, the rest of us get it, and Thanks for the FREE content.
Good on ya Scotty
I have no clue how to build an engine and I am loving watching you put this together! Ignore the experts and keep doing what you do Scotty
Your engine your way scotty
I can hear the frustration in your voice Scotty. Fuck the haters. Thanks so much for the videos.
scotty the way you lubed them bores reminded me of an old girlfriend, ahh the one that got away.
Great video BTW 👍
I felt like there was a "That's what she said" left wanting there.
Scotty keep it up bro... the heroes that wanna see it done perfectly can eft you the 10k minimum for a shop to put together a performance motor.... you Do a great job! People seem to forget the content is free your not paying to see it done or have a tutorial on it being done 100000% perfect you Do a damn good job with the resources available engine building wise
Well said.
Thanks mate and half the time you pay a shop mega bucks and they F%ck it up regardless so idk why people whinge
There’s a whole army of us out there who think Carnage is the best !!! Thanks for the awesome content you legends
Thanks mate
Scott don't let it get to you. You're a legend 🙌 respect from canada.
Nice! Hey Scotty, did I just hear you "get the funk out"? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Cheers. Leigh.
On this episode of carnage asmr scotty breathes heavily lol
Well it was pretty exciting stuff
@@STREETMACHINETV as you know engine building is boring at bat shit, but patience is the difference between it lasting 5 minutes and 5 years. You did great even if it does put people to sleep. They are watching to see you do exactly what you did. People can always skip forward if the exciting reality of it becomes too much.
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering True, building engines is a very slow, methodical job. Probably best done without a camera and 1000's watching.
Dont let the arm chair experts ruin it for all of us mate
Just when you finally start making some good progress on this thing you get locked down again 😢
I know, it sucks
Bloody C19 again
People seem to think building and engine is like building lego. Scotty ignore them . I am humbled and amazed watching you give me the benefit of your years of experience and knowledge. Building things requires measurements and care. Your money , your engine. If they want something different , then they can fund it and start their own channel. Keep up the great work.
Your in there doing it Scotty. The critics have probably never rebuilt their own engine. I really enjoy watching the channel!
Time to bring out the funk!
Live it Scotty I come home from work spent the whole day Assembling the top end of a customs motor an nothing better then watching u put yours together mate I love these episodes nothing better then working all day on wat u love an coming home an watching more of wat u love. Heaps of respect for u Scotty ur doing good mate
Keep up the great work Scotty! Love watching Carnage all the way over in Vancouver, Canada!
Good work Scotty!
Love what your doing mate. Keep up the great work. 👍
Built our 8sec L67 in the garage at home. I don't think an engine knows where it's being built lol.. Good on ya Scotty. Keep it up. Use a rattle gun to run in ya head studs, create some drama lol.
I don't care if it's slapped together the show is called CARNAGE and it'd be false advertising if you were blueprinting every engine running a safe tune on a billet block like a million dollar race team.
Another good vid Scotty 👍
Watched a RUclips video once on how to rebuild an engine. Never actually did one myself but now I'm an expert engine builder.
Im rapt with what you show Scotty. Ive learned heaps! Thanks!
Gotta double click even triple click and then go over them all again. It's industry standard.
In all honesty having had to test and calibrate torque wrenches at work the variance from 1 click to another depending on the angle you push or pull, up or down, hand position on wrench, one hand or two etc etc most people don't realise. At least your having a go and getting stuff done
You do what works for you Scotty
This dunnydore motor
Will be the death of us 😆
This is great. I am building an old holden 202 and taking a lot of tips from this.
Not alot of people know, but a Buick v8 big or small block (350, 455 etc) will drop onto the engine mounts and bolt to the bellhousing of anywhere a 3800 V6 lived. I dont know about space, but a carb bigblock VN would be cool
Great work mate, watching this build is getting me motivated to get my arse into gear and get my clevo together after nearly 20 years.
I find the videos educational because I think there is always something to new learn. Keep up the good work Scotty and crew
Scotty, don't worry about the negative comments. For every 1 negative comment there is 100 of us enjoying your vids. Keep it up. And we're not all mechanics mate, we just love cars
Keep doing what you’re doing Scotty.
Scotty, small bit of advice......DON'T READ THE COMMENT SECTION! I bet a number of those that complain have probably never put a spanner to anything on a car let alone rebuilt an engine. I would love to see a video by you where all we see you use is an adjustable (but when the camera is away you use the right tools) on everything. Imagine the comments on that. Man that would be funny. Keep doing what you're doing and don't give the negative Nancy's the airtime.
There’s no one way Scotty. Everyone’ has an idea. You do it your way and be proud of that big fella.
Scotty you are the youtube mechanic uncle that I never had hahaha and I really appreciate every bit of info you have to give as many others have said stuff the haters
Hey Scotty love your work you go well beyond what you need to for us which is real informative.
Truck the haters mate who will always be haters because they have nothing better to do with their lives.
Love the channell love the content.
LET'S GO 10'S BABY
Notice the whingers watched the video, then whinged about it. FFS 🤦♂️ I love the tech stuff, I never understood how builders come to set bearing clearance via tension. Now I do, thanx Scotty.
I actually had to go back and read part 1 vids comments. It's shocking to read what some people feel in their mind is ok to write. Perfect nit picking princess's make your own vids and educate those interested in learning and while your at it gets some people skills because without that you vids would fail flat out regardless of how awesome and flawless you think your game is. I have thoroughly enjoyed the show. It's relative content for me especially, so it could go on for longer then it will, but some are inpatient and want what they want with zero f uucks about the content creators path.
Yeah, l there are a few shockers
Hell yer brother
Great job Scotty , no one really gives a shit about the haters , keep up the good work.
Great job mate. Love watching your videos. Can't wait to see this thing running
I was thinking on the other episode that maybe the second click was putting the stretch too far, didnt wanna say anything but its nice to know i was right about it.
Either way, you picked up on it and fixed your mistakes and got the job done. Cant wait to see the first fire up mate 🤘
Keep up the great work scotty mate, cant wait till she is going down range. :)
Keep up the great work mate hope the lockdown you guys have down there doesn’t last to long. I enjoy the content you are putting out screw the haters the internet’s full of trolls.
Screw the haters Scotty everyone thinks they are mechanics behind a keyboard it takes balls to do everything in front of a camera keep your head high and the awesome content flowing 👍🏼👍🏼
Mangnificent Scotty too hotty!
Keep up the great work Scotty!! Screw the haters!! I love watching YOU build YOUR engine!! And ESPECIALLY love that you are doing it in a garage!!
Screw you key-board warriors who don't know Jack-sh!t about building an engine!!
Peace and love my friend!!!
Scotty I'm not sure it matters which way up you put the oil expander as long as you don't over lap them. Thing I pay the most attention to is putting the top ring away from the exhaust valve. Can't say putting rings on is one of my favorite activities, it's just time consuming and fiddly, but important it is done right.
Just going off the instructions
@@STREETMACHINETV yeah I figured that, I wasn't saying you were doing it wrong, just saying I don't think it really makes any difference. Rings go up and down, so it faces both directions in its travels. But if the manufacturer says to put it in a certain way who are we to argue?
I love watching this and I can't wait to see it running keep up the good work 👍
Don't worry about the knockers unless it's the sound coming from the bottom end. Cheers though you are doing a great job and we all love watching.
Well now I thought I was watching a episode of bad obsession motor sports. With all that Funk. 🥳
Scotty is it a two stroke build with all that oil. 😆👍 do what you do bud. It is your build. 😉👍👍
Right on
keep doing what you do best scotty ignore the negative nancys
i pretty much build engines the same way you do
i'm sure it will last quite awhile
i've had people tell me i'm doing things wrong for years but i've had engines run for 20 years plus that i built
Haters will go quiet when this thing hooks up and goes 💪
Please scotty use a good quality timing chain, and always use the correct torque for every blt, just makes things more balanced that's all, its a shame you did not weigh the moving parts before assembly, but then again this is a 2nd hand engine with a refresh and not a hi end re biuld for top end drag racing and also more to teach people of some of the basics as well. :)
i for one did learn something from this,so keep it up guys
There is just something about assembly lube that is oh so satisfying.
The honesty of these videos is what both sets them apart and makes them great. Dont listen to the keyboard warriors they just mad because they smell like soggy cabbage.
F the keyboard warriors Scotty. Love watching how you explain and do how you do things. Keep it up 🤙
This is how I rebuild engines in my shed ! I like the way Scotty is doing it ! Fuck the haters and the whining pricks
Tip Scotty if you use bearing guard on the assembly everywhere it stays where you put it unlike engine oil that slowly drains away especially if your rebuild sits around for a couple of weeks until startup
Have no idea how to do anything as regards engines and enjoy watching you do your stuff.
Nice to see that after all the pre oil bore fisting and slug lubing that you got the funk out Scotty, The extra work and detail has me kinda enthralled remembering that Drag racing means stepping it up every time you break something and breaking stuff is part of going faster.
Fingers crossed the next broken bit isnt the L67.....
Nice work mate, love your honesty!
I know this is a year old now but I"m back for a second view; doin a build and needed some refresh training. Stuff the haters "utter gugs" I"m sure most of them think that you add engine oil down the dip stick tube & have little to no build experience. I have been building my own stuff for years & I have learnt heaps from watching you. Thats watching your vids & not watching you like peeking through your front window or anything like that!!!!! Anyway thanks!!!!
Can't wait for all the mangz screw the haterz scotty project vengeance was a ripper
love your work
@Scotty, did you watch Corn Fed Boost building Nugget Garage's one(most recent episodes), you get a mention in it, not negative from memory, just a mention. enjoying these builds.
I saw it
Epic !!!!! in part 10001 ! We run 10's lol
Keep up the good content mate. Most of the people picking at what you're doing aren't coming from real world experience, they merely regurgitate what some other google guru has told them has to be done on a forum or comment section.
Nice one mate, you should the quality of my current garage build engine. Rough as guts in comparison to this.
Mate don't worry about the comments, the people taking the piss couldn't change a tyre if their life depended on it.
Where's the camo pants? Just kidding.😂 on a serious note, get that wedding ring resized, it looks like it's going to amputate your finger.
Tore them at the pocket
@@STREETMACHINETV bugger!
Can’t believe you’re still getting all of these comments about how to do this and that with “your” build, not theirs.
So many online videos by engine building shops are mostly similar but still have different ways to get to the same results.
I’ve got footage and photos for my Torana build but seriously can’t be bothered with all of the drama from posting vids and pics and keep getting told I’m wrong at every step of the build.
And I guess the worst thing we can do now is actually ask for tips and advice from people on Facebook for specs or methods on building etc, then you just get all of the experts chiming in telling you to use a professional builder or another expert in the field when the whole point is to build things in the shed wherever possible and use the pros when we need it. To finish, I really do miss the old school forums where you could get actually get decent help without all of the Bull**it.
🖕the H8r’s mate.
Rant over hahaha 🤣
Woohoo the porno music is back! Good work Scotty. The Supermang is gonna rip!
The haters make you the money
That makes me smile
@@STREETMACHINETV I hope so scotty you seemed a bit down at the beginning of the episode. Just keep doing your thing.
Lol if only the commenters saw how some of us slap our shit together!!
Only gauge I own is plastigauge! 😂😂
Don’t listen to the wankers scotty. Keep up the good work buddy
Blindfolded helps when it comes to comments. If a sledge hammer could reach them keyboards, them blindfold would be at centrelink. We love u bro!!
I like watching because you are fallible but don't pretend not to be. It always comes out in the wash. Great viewing for all amateur builders
Needs more giant shifter 🔧
Have you seen how Haulass slap engines together and they run 1000hp all day long.
Who is he ?
Scotty stuff the youtube mechanics, please measure on camera, its a good way for me to see how other peopple do things and maybe even pick up good engine building habbits that you do. Please scotty pleeeaaasseee. Love you.
It's UnAustralian to dislike how you do things Scotty, those jealous, useless, spoilt little flog's that have a go, more then likely wipe their stupid arse's before they shit! Seriously mate, love what your doing and how you do it! Please keep going! 😍
I suppose the l32 pistons look the same as these. I just bought a replacement engine cause my l67 blew. It has the blower and manifold already on it but i want to send my bore scope in to make fully sure
Will be fine run a thicker oil. I prob would have half shelled 3.5 thou is a bit much. Scotty what are you doing with the sc porting, elbow and throttle body? Thats where the gains are!
Just noticed the You Tube plaque. Nice.
Keep doin what you're doin man. We love it.No one forces the whiners to watch??? Great stuff mate, really keen to see this working and running..... 10's....? Maybe lol
Love the videos mate keep it up
