    Sir, Karm sirf office work nahi but hamari responsibility towards our family, friends and society bhi hai.
    As an RBI officer, your duty is towards RBI. As a husband your duty is towards your wife. As a son, your duty is towards your parents. We cannot compromise one because of the other.
    For example, if my parents fall sick and I must take care of them, I cannot tell them that I must go to the office because "Mera Karm hi mera Jeevan hai". We must decide at each such juncture of our life that which duty should be prioritised.
    But in the scenario which you explained, it was unavoidable which will require compromise. But that doesn't invalidate the concept of Work Life Balance. Geeta should be used to enrich our overall lives holistically and should not be misinterpreted to match our views.
    But overall, this was an interesting story which shows that even big organizations can fail due to human errors which cannot be avoided but we must do appropriate risk management.

    Sir according to my view, work life balance hona chahiye. I come from Mechanical background, and production and quality control dept. handling both, before Diwali had to take my mother for doctors check up, but was unable to take her and I had night shift. Due to much load of work, my company didn't allow me to go to home and I had to work for other shift too. And sometimes we don't get weekly holiday. As all 7 days are working.
    So I think there should be a balance in work and personal life.

      Hi Shubham, in this situation it's about priority. Absolutely personal health and family are priorities over work. In such situations not allowing leave is very wrong and kills employee motivation.

    Work life balance means you have balance between office work and family time.

    Humans are bound to make the errors.... There should have been very strong controls to mitigate the risk 100℅ if processs are so critical.
    Again system should have given the error message immediately when wrong code was punched in instead of zero.
    One thing that saved is you had a physical backup so my request is to see for kaizen and parrato analysis because server crash of RBI is very very serious as it will highly impact countrys economy.
    One question - Does RBI allow to share such confidential information to former employees in public as there are fraudsters and scamers sitting in every corner of the world?

      Hi Vijay, very good points made by you. If you see in the entire series I have avoided telling the details. In this case now this server and this system is replaced by a modern system which is cloud based. So this is not relevant today. Appreciate the detailing you have asked. Keep it going.

    Sir work is worshipp and about work life balance,Rbi is best job in India who provide good culture and best work life balance,.If anyone can enjoy govt job and corporate job experience in single frame ,there is no compare of RBI.....

      It's okay, it's your life and you can decide that. But i firmly believe what Bhagwat Geeta says - Karm hi Jeevan Hai .

    Accountability is crucial. If your colleague has done some negligence, then highlight it. You are thinking about her career, not the organization. Tomorrow when she will be in a senior position and does the same negligence which could have been prevented by lookin g at her ACR, then remember it is your fault. I am not saying that she is not a good Officer, but maybe she should not handle a specific field that is her weakness. That my friend is called good management. Using employees as per their strengths and weakness.

      Yes , you may be right but at the same time we have to decide such things based on the person and his / her intentions. We all may commit mistakes and if one has learnt the lesson why to punish. Maybe I am wrong but that's what I see.
