By Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least be a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, they may speak to recruiters when they come to their high school.
You may research more information about the Air Force on our site of www.airforce.com to include benefits like education, careers, training, lifestyle, requirements, etc.
There is also the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) portion that answers a lot of the most common questions asked: www.airforce.com/frequently-asked-questions/
You may also log on to Airforce.com to chat with a live advisor to answer your questions.
If qualified you can join at age 17 with parental consent during your junior year in high school as part of The Air Force Softbook Program and enter the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), but you will not go to Basic Military Training (BMT) until after you graduate high school.

The Prior Service (PS) program is an enlistment program, allowing a select number of separated individuals to return to active duty. The total accession is subject to change based on Air Force needs. An Air Force Recruiter will help determine if you are qualified. A DD 214 or a DD 368 (for Guard/Reserve members currently serving) is needed to begin the process. Below is the FY 22 listing of available careers for the PS program. Availability is extremely limited. You may reach out to your area recruiter for further information.

  • @lanier03

Sad to say but this is why 90% of the military hates butter bars. You have a Major that is an instructor and he’s telling the world that ROTC gets cadets ready to lead airman and lead flights. Experience and respect gets you ready to lead flights. Just cause you get off the plane day one and the person getting you accustomed to flight has a house on top and they have to salute you and call you sir/mam doesn’t make you ready to lead, it boosts your ego. Don’t be a douchebag officer people.

The ones you see wearing the flight suit (green jumpsuit) wear the flight cap (blue cap) with the uniform. But everyone else wears the ABU cap (camouflage hat). The berets seen in the blues usually means they were chosen for a TACP job once they commission. So not rank related but job related.
