The demonstration of how much faster two grabber is vs just one was really handy. Also didn't know how similar portioners and combiners actually could be. Thanks for the vid!
Yeah, the latest patch (1.1.5 - 2023-3-13) made portioners overlap a little more with combiners which makes them a lot more flexible: "Portioners can now take from ingredient providers, such as beans"
Thank you for this! I’ve honestly never even bothered using things like portioners and grabbers and stuff cuz the game doesn’t do a super good job of explaining exactly how they work, and if you buy one to try it out and can’t figure out how to use it or you don’t want it after all, then you’ve just wasted money and have to throw it out. I never felt like taking that risk and potentially screwing up a run, so I just never used them, but this helps show exactly how they work in game and what you can do with them! Idk if it’s different for the PC version, but I play on the Switch, and it’d be super helpful to have some “testing room” where you could just use any appliance and stuff to see how they work like this without any consequences
Glad it was helpful! There is no creative mode in the base game right now but on PC you can achieve something similar with a couple mods (that's how I made this video)
The "or use two portioners" on the last tip, does that actually work? For me it seems like the two portioners are taking turns and running at half the usual speed when they are pulling from the same source.
Yeah, you're right that they take turns. I probably didn't need to include it in the tip, but it's more of an edge case for layout requirements. If for some reason you can't fit two grabbers on the one portioner, you could put a second portioner on the other side and have a grabber from there. The main issue is that portioning is often faster than grabber speed so both methods increase the bottleneck of a single grabber setup.
I've been thinking about videos for teleporters and some other appliances too but it's hard to think of enough tips! I'll brainstorm a little more and maybe I can throw something together!

Do you think you could make a tips and tricks video for teleporters?

Love your videos. I wish you would talk though.
