      First you have to read qst carefully..If the qst(length of pp) is about alpha helical then ans will be- no. of aa*0.15nm,,,,,if the qst says about bita sheet the ans will be -no. Of aa*0.35nm

    it can also be calculated by
    the distance between each amino acid is 1.5A WHEN IT IS MULTIPLIED with no of amino acids we get the axial length
    for eg no of amino acids = 50
    50*1.5=75
    i think it is also correct

    A polypeptide chain with alpha helical structure has length of 100 nm find the no of residues present in the chain and how many turns are in this alpha helix peptide .

      Calculate mol wt of amino acids separately then add them together to get total value

    U have explained it in a lengthy process. u have made it complicated.
    we know that the distance between 2 amino acids in alpha helix is 1.5A (amstrong).
    to solve this problem, we can use 1.5 A x 78= 117 A.
    there is no need to speak about turns and pitch
