Based on what I observed, the bait that the fish ate represents a memory from his past, one that he wasn't ready to let go of yet. Much like how most of us wished we were still with someone but then life hits you and that person leaves (by death or by other means) and you try hard to hold on to what's left, the memories. The fish seems to somehow be a sign that its time for him to move on but he didn't. He stayed stuck. In the process, he didn't realize that there are people who wanted to make memories with him too. He remained fixated on the past until the old man becomes a memory as well and that's when he started to appreciate him. Apparently, not many of us knows what we have until we dont.

Thank you so much for your comment. It is very impressive. I am glad to see that you got the message that I intended to deliver. I also wanted to say that we also recover from the painful past because of people that stay with us (those who want to make memories with us, as you said). Thanks again!

I like how Noah lived only for himself and Ivo lived for everybody else.
After Ivo's death, Noah noticed that if he died, nobody would miss him, but the second Ivo passed away, everybody noticed that the city became dark.
That's why Noah decided to become Ivo, as his life would become more meaningful that way

At first, I got confused of this animation. But .........
The old man lived for people. The young man just care of himself (bored, tired and useless)
Well, we are human. We can't live all alone. We need others to survive.
Really nice animation. Thanks for reminding me.

They showed us this in animation class. My interpretation of it was different than others
Someone wallowing in their own despair contrasted against someone living for others.
The fisherman only worried about himself and chased after an impossible goal while the lightman cared about others. The latter's death was felt and his memory lived on
I saw the message of being happy through kindness instesd of obsessing over yourself

@@landang7906 I found out later in these comments that it was so the guy could move on from his obsession once and for all. But yeah, those begging, hungry looking kitties kept me from taking in everything like I want to from the story. I wish they didn't have to be in the animation, the waste of food from throwing away the fish was upsetting enough..
But now I will just imagine that the fridge ended up popping open as it hit the ocean floor, and that the fish floated up to the surface, where the cats swam in and got them, eating them back on shore.🙂👍

@@lolajaramillo4620 HI, and thanks for the reply. I myself feed the stray cats in the neighbourhood that's why it was a bit disturbing to me eventhough it was just an animation. I'll suppose the fridge pops open like you did. 😸❤🥰

What an amazing short!!! I really enjoyed the animation style, the music, the colours... Everything.
It's sad that we almost never value the people that make our lifes better untill it's too late. And it's even worse that we probably weren't paying attention to them because we were already stuck in the past, whithout giving any chance to move on.

This animation is so beautiful and calming. I needed to watch this. In today's world when everything is moving so fast and its getting harder and harder to keep up with it, we need this kind of short films which act like an escape where time stops for sometime and we get enjoy the slow and soothing pase.
Thank you so much for this. Love your work ❤️❤️
Also from the film : Life is too short to keep hanging in the past and ignoring the happiness we could have got if we tried a Lil harder. Time never waits for anyone so before its too late, we need to learn to move on or the piles of regret will kill us. And that's the last thing we would want before we die. REGRETS!
SO Lets be happy and make more memories with people who love us and want us in their life❤️❤️

The way it conveys everything with silence but it holds so much words,
and here is the creator's magic begin because in story nobody speaks but the viewers can add there side of stories and everyone's story match's to creator view.
    That's become a brilliant masterpiece.
This marvel tells about that we feel everything around us but never respond and then it's gone and you search for it.
Hats off of to the creator.

I really like how this film showed that we don’t realize what we have until it’s gone. For example, the candle guy lit up the city and it’s not like anyone notice he was doing it this entire time until he died when the city became dark and they realized how important he was. For the angler, it helped him to realize why be stuck in the past when there is so much to do. He was stuck on trying to get the necklace from the fish when really it didn’t benefit him in any way.
So the real lesson of the film is don’t be stuck in the past keep going no matter what happens keep pushing and try to move on.
We also see the fishermen try to do that and then he did so good for him so remember don’t grieve over the past focus on the future! ❤❤😊😊

    Grazie❤ e buon lavoro🌊

Like two sides of the same life for the city: The one who lives in his past just for himself and not seeing what's happening around, and the one who's living in his today, doing a hard work for everyone and pretty friendly.
The second lession of this movie is this: People can look upon themselves only when they look on the others, like if they were a mirrors. Only after that you can be sure, you choosing the wrong or right course.

While the old man was a gentle, kind soul who really cared about other people; he did not pay any attention, absorbed by the futile search of the amulet.

most of times we take so many important things for granted and keep ourself busy doing mundane tasks, that can deprive us from basic human connection and at the end there may not be a concrete output even after investing ourself a lot. this reflects the modern day society.

He was living in the past. Wanting someone and something he can’t have anymore and that made him miss and ignore everything and everyone in the present. When the old man dies he realizes this and “wakes up”…. He now has a pep in his step which represents acceptance and peace and joy ..
    That’s my interpretation anyway 😊

¡¡¡Me gusto mucho!!!
