Is it just me or is K.C., much like Kenny Monday, VERY underrated?? How his opponents dealt with his "wingspan" is beyond me!!! Imho he should be held in higher regard!!! Am I wrong?? One of my buddy's made a comment once when we were talking about those days. It has some merit ito it. His point was that Kendall Cross was in the wrong weight class. What he meant is that if he could cut to where John Smith or even Tim Vanni were he may have been more successful!!!.Yes/No? K.C.'s biggest battles were in his own country. At that time the U.S. was loaded at those lower weight classes. Both in freestyle and Greco!!! Tim, Kurt and the rest of the U.S. team in Atlanta were wrestling at another level at those games. After that idiot du Pont did what he did alot of guys really kicked it up a notch!! I mean come on!! That neck injury Kurt had would have sidelined 99% of the athletes who were injured like that. Look at that line up from '84 to '88 to '92 to '96. The U.S. had some horses in that straw/bantamweight area during that time. It was legendary. Not to take anything from the upper weights. They did well also but Foxcatcher had alot of the best lower weight guys on that squad. Add that with the emotions over Schultzy and the story could write itself!! It did but Steve Carell seemed to take a lot of "professional liberties". It shined a light on the greatest lifestyle(or sport...I guess) in the world and unfortunately one man's mental breakdown is the only thing some civilians know about our sport!!! Thankfully it didn't define it. Sorry for the long post but I've had several heart problems including several minor strokes. My eye sight, hearing and of course memory are not great. The doctor gave me directives that if something jogs my memory take it and run with it. Channels like this seem to help probably because I consider that time, late 80's to late 90's, as some of the best times in my life. So seeing the videos presented on this channel jog my memory and I feel the need to say something in the hope it helps my brain. Again, I apologize and I hope this channel keeps up the great work!!!
@@scott729 ....Perhaps sarcasm has begun to take a turn for the worst?? I certainly hope so!! I hated that "sarcasm" crap!! It has no place in this world!! Go get 'em fellas!!!
I'm not a wrestling expert but it's amazing that Cross attempted all those high risk upper body moves against Brands who is much stronger. Brands looks like he could just bear hug Cross right to mat and crush him easily. 1:58
It’s like Cross will strike out three times in a row, only to then hit a grand slam home run. Brands on the other hand always hits the ball and gets to first base.
No Sir, Terry Brands dominated Match 1; Kendall Cross took matches 2 & 3. Some have ranked this as the best or near best Olympic Final Trial series in history.
One more I HATE is this doing a spin with your opponent, "exposing his back", proving...what? If you put someone in a cradle you expose your own back--so what?
Kendall Cross is one of my favorite freestyle wrestlers of all time. Very creative and underrated!
Hard to be “underrated” with an Olympic gold.
Thank you for these videos!
Fast paced fury. The two best...in the WORLD.
All these great videos! Maybe we need to have quarantines more often 😂
I was watching these pre quarantine! These two went at it for some amazing matches!
Yessss, thank you for posting this!

Great comment. Kendall Cross is underrated for sure. He beat both Tom and Terry Brands!
I don’t accept your apology
@@555dking ....What can I do to make it better?? I promise to never let that happen again.
@@champyelcaballo1530 I believe he is saying he enjoyed your post and to not apologize for it

Yet, Cross won...

@@chademery9169 thats a great analogy
But watching Cross several times, you start to see is just isn't that way. Cross must be the hardest guy to take down I have ever seen.
and looks are decceiving in this case.
I use too have that same singlet Brands is wearing...
95 World Cup singlet.
Kendall is flexible plastic and harmonious. I recognize his motor skills without seeing his face.
This was before scoreboards were invented
Indubidubly 🙂
Cross had a fucking mean chest wrap! Could hit it from anywhere and was so funky always landed on top to expose him more!
I wasnt keeping score but i could have sworn brands won
Did Kendall Cross win both match #1 and match #2?

I love seeing Iowa guys lose.
