You know? yous could have just as easily said " we are learning to 'doctor' cells to make them do things they would not typically do" (... and most the time were just guessing because we're really not engineers ;-). You are lucky to have insurance. Many will never receive these exotic and wonderful treatments.
It's necessary to have more than one target. The immune system is all about checks and balances.
It would be interesting to know if there is a link between a carnivorous diet and cancer in humans.

Bioengineering is an academic discipline. Biomolecular engineering is a sub-field. Cancer is one of the issues they work on.
