Hi there, great vid, thnx, I haven’t upgraded to cc 4 yet, still using 3.4 here, I think I have a good grasp on how setup skin gen to create nice skin shaders, but there’s one thing that makes me crazy, when I turn the editor on, I have a different texture set than when it’s deactivated… then you have this annoying pop up “do you wanna keep your modified result?” -what is that supposed to mean? it’s a bit confusing how to export, which of both texture sets will be exported, when should we use the merge or flatten, etc… I guess my question is more in the terms of: I created a nice looking skin, now what? How do I apply those skin setting from the editor to the character, becausewhen I close the editor I can’t see them no longer, so I can’t even render if I don’t have my editor active! Thanks
@@Cola-42 I meant the over all facial details like pores wrinkles etc, I know that it's possible to add pores wrinkles fold lines etc but why would he use 3 or 4 different softwares to do that
@@MrBarnz You can use skingen for that but whatever in skingen was made using a similar method to what he used but to create your own custom original stuff you'll need to use a similar method. Let say you want specific pores or wrinkles with specific shapes and locations or you got tired of using the same ones over and over because not a lot are available in skingen right now and you'll need to pay in the future when sellers make new ones. Personally, I found a lot of stuff in skingen with poor quality so I had to make my own.
@@MrBarnz Well it all depends on what you need. He is working on a character with 8k textures so he had to make his own stuff cuz 4k details would not look as good. If you want to make a character with 2k textures then making your custom pores and wrinkles would be a waste of time.
I'm just 3 mins in and I thought...this guy's good, wow! Thank you times a million!!!!
Many Many Thanks for this excellent series. So much of learning here.

Can you achieve this level of quality with skingen alone?
He is using 8k textures but skingen does not support more than 4k textures right now. Not sure if this is what you meant.

I am wondering where from Character Creator did Sefki export all the unified necessary maps to use in Maya+Arnold.
Can you specify?
@@arthurmorgan6867 I haven’t! I didn’t investigate further. Hopefully someone will post an answer.
This is just a test. For fidelity. 😝
