    As a Harbor main, I've always said he can work on Breeze but he isn't ideal. The biggest reason is how his utility functions, as it is very aggressive. You can't throw your Cascade and just let it exist nor is it instaneous to block a push. The wall is very flexible, and arguably his best feature but it is NOT punishing enough compared to a Viper wall but its flexbility. is probably the most useful. The biggest gripe i've had with Harbor is his ult just does NOT work on the map. The map is too big for his ult to gain really any value outside of slight info. Harbor is a decent pick on the map, but his overall kit outside his wall just does not get as much value as a Viper would.

      The worst thing about Harbor on Breeze is that you need 2 site anchor agents with good stall. And that's just always going to be Viper and Cypher. I think Viper and Harbor works really really well, but solo Harbor doesn't work unless you have those 2 stalling site anchors

      @@itsjacksonbecause teams try to use harbor like they use viper because they are both wall smokers; harbor can replace a viper on certain maps (although he still has to be played differently), but breeze isn’t one of those maps.
      basically some teams still dont know how to use harbor but still choose him and then lose because they don’t know how to use him to his full potential

      tried to one trick harbor for a few months, only peaked ascendant, and i think i can consistently say that what makes harbor a harder/less intuitive controller compared to the other ones is that his smokes reveal his location- meanwhile every other controller (excluding viper) can just pop smokes globally. even viper can be across the map and still put up her wall.
      anytime i pop harbor on breeze/split/sometimes lotus i always play mid bc i cant really position anywhere else or else i sacrifice smokes for one site

    problem is harbor can't smoke from far where every other controllers can . Until harbor gets some kind of rework that he can control smokes from far .

      i dont think he should be reworked tbh, he can excel on close quarters maps already, he doesn’t need to be good on every map/be good on large area maps too. he has a good niche he fills and he can be very good on maps like bind

      @@dean988 I felt like he has smokes but he can't control them at long distance . don't get me wrong his signature is amazing but cascade is mid and it's sometimes reveals his location and if you know how to counter it with flashes you are dead . I know this because I abuse this thing . I sometimes push through enemy cascade with my flash and I always kill one or two without being dead.

      @@turkishd882 yup that's my problem. he is not very strong and the only controller who can't lurk , even clove can lurk and if he can't lurk make him someone where opponents fear to push like cypher on defense .

    ascent ironically is an interesting map even though its a running joke that it always stays the same i do enjoy looking at the stats and watching to see who has the better play on such a standard map with the same comp

      I mean the good part about ascent is the mid area is probably the most usable out of all 2 site maps.
      Ascent almost feels like the inferno of valorant. It's like every team probably is comfortable on it. And it rewards the ones who are fundamentally better.

    I main Harbor on Breeze in Plat-elo IF someone locks in Viper. Usually I'm even able to win against meta comps on defense by jump spotting A main when barrier drops, and then switch off between spamming util and/or facing with another teammate, or posting up using cascade to isolate the flood with that mate when the site hit comes.
    Then on attack I just play mega aggressive entry for my team by isolating tons of duels for them and calling the situation I want to be traded in.
    Yesterday particularly I won a game with a Breach teammate, and having that odd amount of extra stall was nuts against a highly meta comp. Obviously you need to make a default plan though because Breach util doesn't reach everywhere.
    I think you're right overall especially at the pro level, just wanted to share my experience.

    in fighting games there are often characters that people say “this character is super hard but would be the best if someone learned how to master them completely,” and that character never gets mastered by the time the game dies. i feel like harbor is one of those characters; in theory he is super good and could do a lot of crazy stuff. but in action it’s just too hard to do all of those things on the fly perfectly
    i do think people need to actually learn him in general though, feels like no one knows how to play him at all, and if they did he would show better results

      The point is, Harbor utilities are too plain simple and bad to outsmart or create pressure on enemies. Easy to read, easy to counter, also he didn't has a skill to stall like a molly

      @@itsCynos thats why i say in theory. in theory his cove can be used in tandem with an op to let you peak, shoot, and shield or shield your teammate for that situation, his wall could perfectly block everything needed that other controllers couldn’t do alone, he could utilize the slows of his walls with pushing to catch the enemy or keep them in his ult, etc etc. but that’s all basically impossible to do consistently in the middle of a game and the room for error is large and can be very punishing, so using his abilities as plainly as they seem on the surface is just way more optimal despite the “potential ceiling” he could reach if he was played absolutely perfectly, which there’s often at least one character in every fighting game exactly like this

    The thing about harbour is that walls on the fly are rlly hard to get right. Putting smokes on the fly are much easier to get right than doing a wall on the fly making harbour more clunky to play besides in certain set piece scenarios. Viper being able to set her wall in a specific position and put it up on the fly which inherently gets rid of all risk of potential placing a bad wall. Its a lot harder to improvise with harbour than it is other controllers which is a shame cause harbour is a cool agent and rlly fun to play.

      I mean I get what you're saying but that principle really applies to every controller if you aren't well versed with them outside Viper lol. His wall being incredibly flexible is his greatest strength and for a map like Breeze even you can just put your wall in a straight line in most scenarios and you get value. Improvising on other controllers outside Viper is pretty much same difficulty if you don't practice.

      Yeah, Harbor requires a level of mastery to function reliably on the fly that is rare in pro play at this point (only really Tuyz comes to mind). On Pearl and Icebox, you can get away with a bit less precise walls at times due to the geometry and the actual areas that need to be cut off being somewhat lenient, while on Breeze, the sheer size plus the precision required to cut off certain important sightlines makes the map extremely unforgiving for him.

      @@funkycrawler619 Smokes are def easier to place on the fly than walls especially his main wall ability. I say this as a smokes main lol, traditional smokes are a lot more easier to improvise and don't require as precise precision. Factor in that harbour cannot really set up fights for himself in a way like other controllers can. Viper can clear angles with her mollies, brim can stim peak and clear angles with molly, astra can clear angles with util and set up traps, Omen has an op blind ffs. Which leaves harbour in an awkward spot

    Harbor is good to aggressive plays. I think you could play harbor trying to suffocate the enemy at their spawn.
    It is risky, but it is a playstyle nobody in VCT tried yet on breeze. And could get the meta comp to die quickly if it works.

    i sometimes run viper and harbor in a breeze game. and man once we get a site its locked down. no one can get in anymore. by the time they do the bomb explodes

    My takes (not really mine but whatever) on Icebox comps:
    - we are still at a point where the best players of most rosters are Duelist players, many of them being extremely proficient with the Operator. Forcing those players on for example Omen isn't going to work for most teams. No to mention the fact these jett/raze onetricks can just win games alone with an Operator.
    - Harbor is mid. Sage is just better. You do not need smokes on attack outside of your default wall, he offers very little on defense, and Cove is not a sufficient replacement for Barrier Orb. Yes, he does offer some value on paper against Operators, but if you watch players like aspas, you will soon realise that they don't really respect a Cascade all that much.

    Best solution: Delete Breeze, not just from the map pool, entirely.
    I am a Harbor main with a 80% win rate on this horrible map.
    TMV is wrong, i said it and mean it for at least 90% of the player base.
    If you can control tunnel, your team wins, tunnel is your home, your boring, stupid, home.
    Control tunnel, throw from there, psychologically manipulate your team into applying actual pressure and position yourself to help, or at least hold mid so you can pop down the chute and rotate.
    Double controller opens options for defensive pushes, double initiator means just holding a bit for info. It really is a brain dead map, somewhat like Dust2, the mission as a controller on it is herding the cats so they can trade each other. Only occasionally stay with your team and whenever possible flank and bait for them preferably by shooting an enemy in the back of the head and escaping. Did I mention this map is bad? Blame the game, not the player friend.

    I think the yoru winrate on bind went down cuz most yoru's changed roles (TenZ plays gekko and forsaken plays harbor, they carried yoru imo)

    Confused because Harbor is my go to agent on Breeze. His A take and defense is good. His B defense is good but B take is worse than Viper.

      In Ranked he can work but overall Viper is ideal both rank and pro. His offense if arguably his best part but on defense his kit is inherently weaker due to how his kit is meant to aggressively take space whereas Viper gets solid baseline value on both Attack and even more so defense.

    Yoru, Omen, Cypher, Sova, Viper seems like the ideal comp for breeze at this point. I know Astra got more play and alone is probably better but vertical movement can be really important in cave and A site

      @@ranghawastaken ? He has fantastic one way spots and regenerating smokes. Sure it’s not the best map for his blind, but it’s still useful for plenty of spots, especially halls, and his ultimate is actually really useful on this map considering how much open space you have to avoid getting heard. It’s been tried plenty of times already in APAC and NA, and his noise suppression on the blind is even better with a Yoru and Sova, let alone the freedom it grants your Viper on defense

      @@soundcloutking303 1. There are not many good one way spots. 2. His blind is terrible 3. His tps are not really useful, all his possible „uncommon“ spots are common because of Jett anyways which is why he‘d still get preaimed 4. His Ult is indeed very good on Breeze, only looking at his Ult Breeze is probably his best map 5. Nobody is getting hit by an Omen blind on Breeze, even tho in theory the combinations you mentioned are of course good but won’t happen on Breeze 6. More freedom for Viper is a semi good point I‘d say but she has even more freedom with an Astra and since Omens tps/blind/oneways are not good on Breeze there’s no reason for Omen instead of Astra

      @@ranghawastaken idk what to tell you other than you’re just straight up misinformed 💀 teams have been experimenting with Omen on this map for over 2 years. The main reason he’s not very common is because you used to have to give up your Jett or your Kayo slot to make him work. Now that Yoru has a legitimate and healthy niche, you don’t really need either of those agents on your comp anymore. TMV has straight up covered it before in multiple videos, and so have most other analysts and coaches that make content like him. Explore the website you’re commenting on right now

    Why do people hate Icebox? I find it to be a good map. I hate Lotus and wish it would be deleted!

      Coz it doesn't have much room for variability... Every round plays out the same way. Mid is very hard to use as an attacker. It was that way before and now even harder with that window.
      So every round ends up being a 5 man site hit with maybe a very late mid lurk if you're hitting B.
      Lotus with 3 sites offers a lot more to round variation. You can pivot to different sites and that too quickly because of the rotating doors and the breakable hole between a and b. There is more option of lurking. Getting control of different areas is usually a trade off. You are much more inclined to have proper reads in a map like lotus with 3 sites. That's why more people like it. Coz you can cook stuff on it. Icebox is just too monotonous.
