So overdramatic, i mean they just found $1.2m worth of opal and now he is saying ”if we dont find opal here it might be over for us”. Meanwhile the other opal hunters is jumping in joy after finding opal for like $5k
yeah, i dont see how they can be out of money in a year if they had 1.2mill and i reallllly doubt the house and claim is worth that hahaha, i could be wrong or maybe they are still selling the opal from last season
It's a reality show.... Get with it dude
For starters, they didnt find 1.2mil worth of opal. A lot of the opal on that table from the other episode was found by Dave Darby in another part of his mine and the film crew just added them in the shot to make it look better. The money the get from what they did find is split 50/50 with darbs. Oh and the house with the claim on it has never produced opal and they have had it for years. What they do is go around town and buy rough from actual miners to use on the show.
@@thecatqueenshorts1725 exactly. Sad that we have reality shows about opal hunters. I'd be cool with just seeing how they find them and their daily processes. They just have to add that BS part about never ending doom.

What i find most interesting about these videos, is that the most replayed moments are always when they show a drone view of the landscape. There are people actively trying to find out where these people are mining. Slightly scary.

Hey guys one day I found a I think stone, it had a black base on the back it is in a jewlery cut round, it has green red yellow fer gift what else but what gets me is it's like laser stripes those colors I don't know if it's real or not, could ya help me if I sent ya a picture?? I've never seen anything that all have got,that's why I'm askin, probably some kids ring, and this came out, but what makes me think is this black on the back, thanksMare. Love that stuff you got! why did they sell dragon fly? lease was up? can you not just renew and keep getting mad opal? kinda seems risky what they did. They had a good production on their claim then abenden it? did i miss something>?
What if you used a metal detector to locate the iron stone. Maybe that would make it a little bit easier persay
The red dirt is iron loaded so there would be an incredible amount of background interference with a metal detector.

"if we don't find opal on this dig, it might be over" bullshit. Like the discovery channel isn't paying enough to keep mining forever. I watch these just to see the stones. I think it'll be better if I just watch on mute from now on. Way too much unnecessary made up caca from the production company.
They get payed fuck all, its about 300 a day but they do all the filming for every episode in a few weeks.
@@raptor0040 I didn't say they get paid enough to be rich. Just enough that they can keep mining. It's not like if they don't find opal, they'd need to go find a full time job. This is a full time job, ya?
@@redeyestones3738 Thats what i am saying mate, its not fulltime. Its a couple of weeks filming for the year and then they go back to the coast to their other jobs. So yes if they do or dont find opal they need other jobs for the rest of the year.
