That’s not how you set up a shaper to cut a keyway.
With the tool upside down the clapper box can’t work & the tool breaks down quickly not to mention the risk of lifting the work out of the vise.

@@TheAsdfg74 This morning I ran a 0.256" chucking reamer in a 0.0004" undersized 6.5mm bore [chamber reamer pilot would not fit]. It made almost no chips. But usually we try to have a hole 0.015" undersized, and that will make chips.

@@tnekkc The reamer must process the hole along the entire inner surface. Otherwise it's corrupted.
