@@monie3558 Yeah I really enjoyed the ones with MANGO and ZARA. Because you can finde some elegant things in there if you’re on a budget and it helps to learn to scan. Also very interesting and funny. ❤️
I must admit she is right. Most people underestimate the advantages of good quality garments. She is not targeting people who cannot afford those clothes, she is only advising the majority of people who will afford better quality clothes but will prefer to go for the cheapest options regardless.
I agree. Tbf I think it’s also a good point that our wardrobes are getting way too big. Buy less, buy better. Even people who can’t afford much at all can follow this advice in some way - get one or two fantastic quality garments that will last you a lifetime, rather than 10 shitty skirts that will be tattered and dated in six month’s time. Flattering clothes in beautiful fabrics that fit your body will *never* go out of fashion.
Same here too. But the thing is it is also eye-opening. I went for a big summer shopping the other day with a friend who also follows Anna Bey. We ended up buying only one dress for her. But also avoided buying all of these cheap looking shapeless clothes, with which all of these stores are full of. Now the next big question though where to buy good quality clothes which are not designer?
Yes! Do you guys know a good online store to find quality clothes? It’s hard to distinguish reputatable brands vs new brands that just want to be expensive. Lol
just imagine shopping at Zara, seeing Anna like „omg the Queen is shopping here! I‘m going to shadow her and buy everything she buys so I know she would approve!“ 3 days later watching this video: „oooh..“
Honestly, even in expensive high quality clothing stores it’s really hard to find beautiful elegant clothes. I’m having a hard time finding good clothing
Me too...I wonder if it's the buyers or manufacturers! I hope it improves. Just goes to show classic, well fit, even "basic", you can't go wrong. Sometimes accessories are key and the small details. I think Anna would agree. 😊
Everytime i go shopping, i ask myself what Anna thinks about this or that haha😂And since i watch Anna, i dress more elegant and people noticed. Thanks to Anna who is teaching us😻💘
Oh my god! I do exactly the same, haha 😄 I think “Would Anna buy it?” If the answer is “no”, then I don’t buy it. Thanks Anna for teaching us to have a good taste in clothes 💖
It would be great if you made a video talking about how to tell difference between things that are really high quality and worth investing and others that are just overpriced, that doesn't really worth paying so much money. Love your videos, Anna! You look even more stunning 😚
Zara is a hit or miss. On occasion I have found high quality looking pieces that I absolutely love. But most of it is a tragic mess. You just gotta look 😉
@@tanyah6184 Yeah... I have some Zara pieces (jeans and wool sweaters) that my parents bought for me at Zara when I was a child/early teen about 10 years ago, and somehow still look brand new. The last 3 years I have visited my local Zara, I haven't found anything worth enough to be bought.
Agree. 15 years ago you could find well made, well cut trousers and blouses. But more recently, their clothes are not great. The fabrics are terrible and construction is abit shoddy. Zara was my go to for great quality lined winter coats at a reasonable cost, but now they don't even line their coats. And want the same price! I did see a really nice heavy caramel pleated skirt recently. But that was one thing in the whole store. I'm now saving up for an expensive camel coloured winter coat that will last me forever. Great vid. X Ps Massimo dutti is owned by zara but better in quality.
Yesss , I really need a video/suggestion about how to look elegant at university/school. I will be really happy if you can suggest me any video or a channel about it.I really don't like how womans wear cheap stuff/quality fabrics at my age (19).
Finally! Someone called out these horrible prints! You’re completely right, Anna! I spent a bit more on stores like Reformation - the prices are over the moon but the quality and the fabric make you look and feel like a million bucks! Worth the investment!
Someone below replied this mockingly, but it is actually a good idea…. Anna, start your own clothing line! I would buy Anna Bey clothing, and so would thousands of your followers. It would be guaranteed elegance with no worries! ❤️❤️❤️
I want to see you go shopping in a thrift store with a budget of $50, because if you’re a lady of limited means, this is what you’re working with. Great video, as always.
@@seabreeze4559 By the way where I live they don't call them "charity shops". They're called "thrift shops". Encouraging all people to be thrifty! You should try it. Can be lots of fun!
Anna’s personality is so adorable. Instead of sounding offensive or “preachy preach” she makes her lessons so cute and funny and lighthearted. And we still get the point! Thank you my dear elegant Anna. 💕
In my southest asia country, Zara, H&M is expensive and considered as a high-range brand here :'( Edit: To Anna haters, don't use my comment to attack Anna because it makes nonsense, she doesn't have responsibility to care every single country.
I have been to these countries too. i feel like you can find clothing of much high quality in markets without brands. Stop feeding those fast fashion brands
I remember when Ralph Lauren had better quality clothing . now they’re charging higher prices for Zara quality clothing. There are other designers(used to be considered high quality clothing) out there doing the same.
I have 3 blouses of cashmere from h&m years ago. I treasure them. H&M like so many stores had good quality clothes. The last 10 years it all went downhill. I prefere h&m to Zara any day.
Yes this! I work in a head office in luxury fashion and definitely noticed the quality falling in past few years when I'm looking at our sample items before the models put them on.
I think Zara accepts returns or is it exchange only? lol Anyway, I stopped going there a long time go once I saw how deformed and shrinking their clothes were.
A year ago I decided to start making my own clothes. I choose the quality of the fabric, it is created for my body and with shapes that enhance my body. It is quite of a challenge but I think it is a great move :)
Zara is still the best option when you want to look elegant in a budget when living in a smaller town. There are not many different options in my city and I am still a student. I just select the pieces very carefully.
Sometimes Zara has clothing that looks high end. Why not run an activity for your followers to share their most elegant looks and where they bought them? Obviously, Anna would select and share looks (good ones only, positive vibes).
Thank you!!! I remember when I was a teenager being obsessed with Zara (it was quite expensive as well for a teenage budget). And my goodness, their marketing induced me to waste my money on things that did not make me look or feel good. Thank you for showing young girls HOW to look feminine and stop wasting their money!!
Have had horrible experiences with boutiques and brands with clothing getting damaged just wearing once. I now prefer thrift shopping and I honestly find quality clothing that lasts. I have been to 2 international pageants with my entire wardrobe being a thrift wardrobe and no regrets. Quality is Best
@@seabreeze4559 First of all... Where do you live? Where I live we have clothes pouring into all the thrift shops in all the cities I live in/by by the truck loads! They need everyone/anyone to buy the clothes so they don't end up in the landfills. Shame on you for not caring about the environment and your fellow man. Do you realize that most of the clothes donated to thrift shops end up in 3rd world countries polluting their towns and destroying their economies? Don't you care about them? And how do you know my budget? How do you know I'm taking care and helping out my family in need and haven't taken a vacation in about 12 years because I'm helping my family. Shame on you for assuming you know my life when you don't. At least I shop in thrift stores to help with the environment, stop sex trafficking and slave labor and yes when I shop I only buy American made or fair trade. Is that more than I can say for you?
@@seabreeze4559 you should be ashamed of this mindset! Buying used is great for the environment. Why don’t you do some research on the footprint that that fashion industry has on the world and then come comment on someone who prefers thrift shopping. Not to mention, the city where I live has an overwhelming amount of clothing donations in the major thrift stores, so trust me there is no shortage.
I agree completely! As a young lady of 21, I’m trying to dress more elegantly however still within my age range. As someone who doesn’t make much money, I have a low budget for clothing but I’m still rather choosy. But the issue is that every fast fashion shop you enter is filled with ghastly floral prints of unflattering dresses, and crop tops that show far more skin than needed in public! Elegance just isn’t in fashion for fast fashion.
“Zara decided to be clever….” That was my favorite thing you said! 😂 It’s so true! All brands do this! They take a garment or accessory that would be great and then they cut a hole in it somewhere, or add a chain, or a rhinestone and it just like… why?
Back in the days Zara made really good dresses and jackets, well Fitted and classy. (beginning of the 2000's) even their jeans were so trendy. I wish people would buy smart to stop this fast fashion addiction. Like finding other hobbies than flying into malls.
Finally! Thank you! I never shop at Zara or any other Fast Fashion Shops. A way too trashy, and everybody wears the same things. I also go for quality and not quantity, and no, I don't have tons of money. But I don't go shopping every weekend. Shopping is not a "hobby" of mine. And i think in "outfits", every piece has to go with 3 other items in my wardrobe
Recently moved out in a big city and, truly, I prefer people wearing zara than michael kors 😂 this one I see EVERYWHERE and it's horryfing that girls really buy the ugliest bags from them just because it's a brand article
I also moved from a big city - now in a rural environment. I'd be thrilled if I saw anyone wearing things from Zara lol. I'll probably never be able to (or need to) dress so elegantly anymore, but I'm still using Anna's lessons when I shop at Walmart lol
Anytime I go shopping, I hear your voice ringing about quality over quantity. Since I started watching you, I have been more conscious about how I shop for my clothings Thanks for teaching us Anna🥰 We love you!
@DHINMMA OGUEME I agree with you that her quality is important. I try to take 30 seconds to think: 1) Is it made well [if in certain shops, it’s guaranteed but if not I look at seams, needle work, how it hangs, fabric] 2) Do I need it? Do I have a similar one? 3) Is it special occasion only? By your beautiful thumbnail pic, you already appear elegant.
I agree with you, I discover Anna when I watching Audrey Coyne, Alyssa Beltempo and my polish stylist ZOPHIA Stylistka and when I go shopping I always thought about they tips
It is worth to speak out loud the truth of what means to be high caliber and adversely, cheap. I’m an 18 years old girl but I have had great passion for personal growth since my childhood. You are so kind and unarguably elegant. Love you from Hong Kong!❤️❤️❣️💞
Yes! I agree. Anna is definitely doing a great job with her narratives as of late. She is definitely getting comfortable in her role/own self which to me is equally important as looking like a dignified, well dreeses woman. One can look fabulous and be on the "Nasty, stay clear" list with the personality of a demanding, snooty tyrant. Met too many phonies during my life's travels and experiences. ANNA, you have a lovely inner self and it is a JOY to see you allowing it to shine through. Your beauty is insiders and out. Thank you for bringing back the "good old days" where women looked and behaved like ladies. Balanced, strong, authentic and established in who they are. Or, at least starting THE JOURNEY. BLESSINGS! Have a tremendous, positive week everyone!

Thank you. I love this video. I get really mad walking round shops that claim to sell clothes when there is nothing, NOTHING, worth buying. I used to get upset, I felt excluded from the clothes I assumed other people were enjoying.
I was watching a movie made in the late 70s I noticed theirclothes in that movie: tweed jackets, Heavy cotton shirts, nicely textured wool sweaters. Don't find that much in stores these days
search for supima cotton, or for ring spun (pre-shrinked) cotton. You can find these kind of t-shirts in stores that sell clothes for another business - for printing etc.
Though I can't afford clothes from ZARA but I would never buy these dresses even if someone would give me these for free 😂😂 Thank uh Anna for saving us 😂💋💋❤️
Zara is considered expensive here and there are no second hand stores where I can find really good stuff . It has become so hard to shop elegant items as a beginner
Even if Anna had a point, but handling these pieces of clothing so disrespectfully (throwing, rolling eyes, making faces), as if they were something dirty, didn't leave a good impression on me. I am sure there are ladies who, even wearing those simple dresses, will still look and BEHAVE in a sophisticated manner.
Personally, I find this person very unsympathetic and super negative. And by the way cheap looks....maybe it's time for a hairdresser? Her hair outgrowth look quite cheap too.
@Charusara Adikari Do you take a “Pattern” like brands Butterick or Vogue to the tailor along with your fabric and have him or her create your garment? Or do you give the tailor a photo and have them create it? Also, do you have the tailor make several of the same designs [at same time so they can be efficient] but in different colors? Thank you, in advance, for your response. I have thought of using a tailor (sometimes called seamstress). Greetings from Chicago 🌸
@@safikasafika We’re both waiting patiently for the details. I’m in US - Chicago- so it could be pricey BUT if I get 1-2 dress patterns and different fabric material, that can make several items.
Hello Ladies, I usually get inspired from many fashion designs, I save interesting garments I see online or in Pinterest and change things based on my choice. I bring my own fabric to my tailor/ seamstress, (so I can assure the quality of the fabric) most of the time I listen to their opinion since they know how the fabric works the best. My tailor draws the sketch in front of me while we discuss, if I have a picture of the design which inspired I share if with them. (It’s sounds like a big process but it’s not) I don’t like to have same design in two colours (but it’s a personal choice). Like you mentioned it is efficient to get it like that. Hope this is informative. ❤️
Yes and we know that the reason the clothes are sewn incorrectly is because the seamstresses have to make the clothes in seconds in horrible working conditions. As a sewist can you imagine? So sad. I'm so thankful I can make my own clothes in the comfort of my own home without worry of abuse. We're so blessed.
@@bpom527 i saw the documentary The True Cost, I was in tears many times during the viewing, it’s one of the reasons why I got interested in making my own clothes 😭
@@cloui443 Me too! I was sobbing and on my knees asking God to forgive me. That scene where they keep showing the sales shoppers then show the workers hit me so hard. I became a responsible shopper in that moment. I love that that's the reason you started sewing. I'm applauding, high-fiving, hugging and "yay!"ing you from my computer! Fantastic job girl! You're a great example to others!
in country where i live in, believe it or not Zara is considered medium to high-end brand and the type of clothes you gave examples esp. the baggy ones as well as the grandma type of dresses are everyone's fav 😂 lucky for me i found this channel so i could have a better, refined fashion taste. thanks Anna, you're such a lifesaver 😊
I think it's getting much harder to find nice clothes these days. First of all, the styles for the past several years have been baggy, shapeless and unfeminine with a shabby rather than a polished look, and don't even get me started on the polyester EVERYTHING. There are beautiful clothes out there but they are very expensive and most women just cannot afford those prices. It used to be easier to find nice clothes on a budget but now it is much more difficult. Maybe I'm imagining things but there seems to be a huge difference in the clothing styles available at high-end stores versus fast fashion stores.
No, you are not imagining things! Everyone is having the same problem. My daughter has become an excellent thrifter. Maybe I can learn how, but I get overwhelmed by all the second-hand junk in there and can't find the treasures. The polyester thing has got to stop! It feels terrible.
Polyester everywhere and baggy boxy tops. Surely, these are souvenirs from the 1990s, the favorite fashion decade of every low-taste individual out there . For those who enjoy nice tailored tops, suits, trousers like those of the 1930s and 1940s and clothes made to last, resorting to second-hand and vintage clothing might be the only solution. I am doing this since I've alreayd given up buying cheap shoddy clothes from any of those fast fashion stores. I value my money.
Yes I cannot afford to buy constant good quality clothes so I’ll choose some really nice elegant and feminine pieces from Amazon, no they’re not the best quality but for now it works. The mall right now is absolutely horrendous and I looks so much more feminine with nicer Amazon clothes. I stand out a lot and pair it up with some good quality pieces I do have. You gotta do what you gotta do. I absolutely HATE today’s fashion 😫
Totally agree with you, I could never understand why people are so obsessed with Zara, it's such a low quality, even Primark has better stuff sometimes 😂
I agree. Why can’t they just hire someone who knows better? I remember times when zara had actualy nice clothes. It was 10 years ago when I went to high school. I was star back then in zara clothes. I am not able to buy anything there anymore.
20 years ago when I was in uni, Zara was affordable and had nice clothes. Some of those pieces lasted me a few years. You'd go Massimo Dutti if you wanted a bit more quality or impact. But especially the last ten years... it's just sad. I have trouble finding nice things. Lately I walk the entire store and I don't even see anything I want to try on.
In Romania, Zara or similar stores, does not sale very cheap their clothes and other stores where you can find high quality fabric is even more expensive. The sallary is small the prices are high, of course is not include all type of jobs, but majority has small income. Plus a tabu subject is that these type of clothes are made in horrible condition in Asia, and the employee are paid misserable. I do not say that are not options as you said just is a quite a challange.
@Larisa Mustata I agree with you about the horrible labor condition for employees of this “fast fashion”. Thank you for reminding us of this. It helps inform me of purchases. Greetings from Chicago.
Their items are made in small quantities since micro-trends every 2 weeks emerged in stores. So no, it's difficult to wear the same thing another woman wears from Zara since a few years ago when this new marketing technique started. You may see the same items on their online shop but many are sold out. This is a strategy to buy instantly when you find something you like.
I noticed they have different clothes, style & items in the European & U.S. market. I watched many European Zara haul & some items are not avaliable in the U.S.
I don't shop there often but I like checking them out and they do have the occasional nice piece. So I remember once I picked some dress and went to try it on and in the queue to the changing room there were 3-4 other women holding the same dress :D so I left it... Also what My life My journey said. I remember in my home country the choice was very much limited and you would see the same items on the street on every other girl
You have to wear your clothing from Zara with different shoes handbags accessories. I use to wear items from Forever 21 and everyone thought it was high end because of the way I wore Forever 21 clothing.
Having worked as an alteration seamstress, it was really cathartic to watch you express the emotions I often felt but couldn't show clients... Thank you for addressing both fabric and sewing quality! Ladies, if you won't buy good quality for yourself, do it for your seamstress! Working to make poor quality garments look good is amazingly difficult!
Holy words Anna! All my friends are enthusiastic about Zara and wear sometimes great items but not me! I have difficulties in finding my right size (s is too small and medium is too big for me), the right shape and garnment. Talking about blazer I have had a bad experience: sleeves different in shape and length, not homogeneous colours, strange cut and cotton or sintethic threads hanging out randomly. A big no for me. Ah, and sometimes I think that Zara, comparing to its competitors, it's not so cheap. Some items are way too expensive for the quality they have. BTW Anna is always on point ❤️

Anna, Anna I can't thankyou enough, you changed my life for better. I come from a lower middle class family, I'm 26 year old an Indian woman. I am watching your channel from last one year and made few big changes in my conversation style, my food habits, my mindset, I became more open minded and unfortunately I couldn't afford expensive clothes so I started sewing my own dresses . 4months ago on a dating site I met a man ...met him for date and after 2 weeks of regular dating he told me , he lied to me about his job, he is actually an Entrepreneur who have 3 successful startups. He liked the fact that I wasn't needy and greedy , he gave me job in his company but not closer to him I work with other executives. I stitch dresses, kurtis , skirt and suits. For winters I am mostly in turtle neck from Mango. Hope this will help you.
If you visited high fashion brands you will find cheap looking clothes too, Zara have a lot good products as well bad ones. You just pick the worst of them to talk, and the label is red so probably from sale and that product that was bad on selling. Isn’t about the store, is about your eyes to find the good things around fast fashion. I see so many elegant ladies with Zara products that if you don’t know Zara collection you will never guess. So it’s all about the eyes and good sense of style, like why you did choice the blazer 2761/274 to talk about?
@@paperveils I know I watched that one and still she doesn’t understand much about fashion and the advise looks naive sometimes, even Anna have lots os clothes that looks very cheap and from Zara. I feel like a Miranda Presley vibes but she doesn’t understand much about fashion or what fast fashion represents for those who can’t afford high brands. Like a blazer in Zara cost $50-$100 for some people this is expensive, specially if you want to upgrade your life/style. The Inditex groups isn’t good for many reasons but like Chanel isn’t too since was support by the nazis.
There are expensive looking and cheap looking items in Zara. Especially the summer items, there are many “skimpy” clothes which it very see through or too revealing. Sometimes I think fast fashion brand should cut back on those items, it’s just not environment friendly to make trash, and they just end up as left over in sales.
@@AshleySpace1111 I agree. I’m very selective about what I buy from Zara and have some nice dresses from them which had served me well and even gotten me some compliments. Their collections for F/W are usually a lot better than the ones they churn out for S/S which is really cheap looking in general. We can still elevate it with nice accessories but those stuff are not going to last.
Yeah I think you are right. Actually as opposed to what Anna mention, I think Zara is a good place to shop for blazer and tailored shorts. Most of us don’t really have an occasion to dress up in designer blazer, and a Zara blazer is actually very decent as a work piece.
Dear Anna, congratulations for your channel. I think you're doing an amazing job informing women and men on etiquette and elegance. Could you please do a video about how can we look elegant in working environments where it's not practial to wear heels, jewellery etc (such as kindergarten/elementary school teacher, waitress ...)
You are so correct. I was truly amazed when I saw you in the clothes. It’s so sad that many of the clothes available nowadays makes women look larger & even older. I’ve actually had things like this, and recently started “really “ seeing how they made me look. Your video definitely drives home the point. Thank you 💗🌸
@@kdijack1089 she mentioned it on the video, when she had not much money she used to go hunting for elegant pieces there. But as soon as she realised how to dress better she stopped buying there. It’s called growing.
So are you saying she’s wrong? It’s a reminder to me to slow down and think before I buy, she gives tips to make us ladies look better…this is 👍. I’m sure Zara will be fine and perhaps you gained something positive here🌸
But Anna, that is how fast fashion make their profit! They don't hire professional designers, but only those who can "design" look-alikes for Zara. All their costs only go to productions, supply chain and retail operations.. lol.. thank you for this video. Could you please next time review mid-range brands like Reiss, Ted Baker, Santini Couture and some other mid-range brands that you think worth buying? Thank you and happy vacation!! :)
Exactly! And they mass produce. So many new collections coming out. It's insane. Zara is catering the needs of the consumer. As long as there are people buying their poorly made pieces that do not question their ethics behind the way they produce their garments, nothing will change. We as consumers have to be more selective how and where we shop.
Hello, elegant Anna! I live in a small town near Rio de Janeiro, we do not have Zara here, but after watching your videos I know better how to choose my clothes. I'm greatful for your tips, they help me elevate my taste and create a style my own. Thank you, beautiful!!!
exactly she just did that being smart when you go shopping is very important i buy things that looks so expensive actually and i elevate my look with brand shoes and a bag and everyone thinks i wear only brands i have brands but also i like zara
Thank you for bringing up this topic. Especially the part with shapeless, balloon like clothes (they are everywhere). I've always thought it was problem with my body, but thankfully I've realised it's not! It's really hard to find feminine, perfect fit clothes, and I'm struggling with it every time I try to go shopping :/
You can add also the terrible impact on environment + the people who make them who are working and living in terrible conditions. Not really elegant in that aspect either.
Very true. The most environmentallly friendly way to wear your clothes and to reduce the damage we cause on the planet is to make the most of the clothes we already have. There's this big trend to get rid of everything we may not like, but what if we tried to style it differently and gave it another life. Most of us wear only 20% of clothes we own anyway..

I wonder what Anna did with all the clothes she purchased
True, I’ve been seriously considering this. In my time in prayer God is calling me to consider my impact on the environment. It’s so wasteful, when so many out there can’t afford a meal or clothes.
I agree that fast fashion is bad for the environment but about the terrible conditions of workers, it's also available for luxurious brands. It's awful how the workers and ( especially immigrants ) are treated in Italy for Gucci for example. I also saw a documentary for Louis Vuitton... Knowing how workers suffers doesn't make me want to buy their products. I look for eco friendly / sustainable / vegan brands and found some very chic and elegant style with good quality material 😊
Anna, the printed clothing everywhere has been driving me CRAZY. Thank you for mentioning that. There also seems to be a huge boom of the “scarf print” trend going on this Summer....very 90’s and almost reminds me of a rag doll? 😆
Fit improves with quality, too. I’m currently regretting all those thin, cotton shirting items Ingot from H&M, the fabrics are so cheap, they can’t be ironed properly and the whole garment puckers up after one wash. I love it when you do style videos, thanks. BTW, love your shirtdress.
Thank you, Anna for sharing your personality and for never holding back on your honest opinions. I’ve always loved and enjoyed your videos and now that you’re sharing more of your personality I love them even more. Please continue to maintain your wonderful, high quality work❤️
Most fast fashion (Zara, Forever 21, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Target, Old Navy, etc.) degrades quickly and is a waste of $. Better to save up and buy staples that will last longer and always be in style
It’s hard to find something that will always be in style. The cuts of pants, tops, even jackets and sweaters change over time. If I bought what I thought was a classic womens suit 10 years ago, it would look very dated now.
@@jennifernabrahamable that’s not really true. I used to think this like a decade ago but having now had more time on this earth to watch fashions evolve, it’s just not realistic.
Anna thanks again for your video and since I been watching your videos. I have changing my clothes. I been getting more compliment and people treat you a little bit different in a good way. So thank you these videos do work. From this tomboy who's now gone classy thank you so much.
I agree 100% with Anna. I received a Zara gift card from a friend and, believe me, I try since 3 months to find something to buy from Zara, but was impossible so far. I don't have high expectations: just something decent to wear, but that proved to be "mission impossible". 😐
I've noticed progressive quality decline in all high street shops over the last 10 years. I've switched to buying at better quality brands when they are on sales...many times at the same price than cheaper shops during new seasons. What annoys me most is how polluting cheap fabrics and items are to our planet. There should be more laws against that, not to mention the terrible conditions of textile workers in some countries.
100% agree! You have to be very careful when selecting pieces from Zara! It is shocking to me that some pieces are even approved for manufacturing and put on the rack for sale 🤷♀️
I think they have good stuff and also some “cheap” looking stuff. I think fast fashion need to stop making those badly design clothes because it’s not environment friendly and it’s didn’t get sold as well.
I had a dream last night that Anna came to my house as a style consultant, went through my wardrobe, and threw half of it out. Then when we were done she gave me tips for when shopping. She never asked to be paid but I just knew she had a fee and that she was expensive, so I paid without her having to say anything. 😂 You have indoctrinated me well Anna!
Anna, you’ve done a few of these videos about what not to wear. Can you now do videos/look books actually illustrating what we should wear? First dates, work etc. Bring your cheat sheet to life so we can get a better idea. Thank you!
I couldn’t agree more. I’ve always wondered why it is so hard for me to like something in Zara or clothes don’t fit me well. I thought problem is in me now I know what is the reason.😀
Yes! We need more videos like this, would be a great series of videos. One for each dress code type (Corporate, Business Casual, Formal, Casual Day, Casual Evening, Date, etc). We want to look smart always. 💕
I think Anna has picked everything that actually looked bad . Anna please next time try the cashmere sweaters and wool coats and other stuff from Zara because we need to know if they really look bad too( from Zara ) or not . Because it’s a waste of money buying good material if it still looks cheap. Also make a video on buttons please
You are so right about the tent-like, unflattering cuts on so many of their clothes. I always wonder who buys those because you would have to be a teeny tiny size not to look like a house in them!
You are SO right. I must admit to wasting money on Zara clothes. They look great in the shop but less great the moment you decide to bring them out of your own wardrobe!

Even many designers branded items can look cheap, it's all about being selective about the way that you dress.
I think Anna guide still apply to more expensive brands.
Preach !
Thank you. Selective when u purchase clothes(also consider what works for your body type and income) is essential regardless of the brand.
@@lindapelle8738 I agree
Agreed! So much cheap looking polyester out there! 🤮
I must admit she is right. Most people underestimate the advantages of good quality garments. She is not targeting people who cannot afford those clothes, she is only advising the majority of people who will afford better quality clothes but will prefer to go for the cheapest options regardless.
They can also go to thred up for the designer clothes and its much cheaper
Anna got me walking in the mall judging every clothing in every store.
Same. It’s a blessing and a curse🤣

She already has one, check her videos I'm sure you'll find it
It would be great if you made a video talking about how to tell difference between things that are really high quality and worth investing and others that are just overpriced, that doesn't really worth paying so much money. Love your videos, Anna! You look even more stunning 😚
Oh yes, please. This is a great idea!
Right-- that's what I was expecting this to be...
Zara is a hit or miss. On occasion I have found high quality looking pieces that I absolutely love. But most of it is a tragic mess. You just gotta look 😉
They were definitely better before

Great vid. X

Zara in India is expensive.
Zara is considered expensive here and there are no second hand stores where I can find really good stuff . It has become so hard to shop elegant items as a beginner
I get it, for years I have felt the same. These designers hate women, that's why I sew.
I share the same thoughts as you do. I am going to learn sewing once I got my schedule structured out.
Even if Anna had a point, but handling these pieces of clothing so disrespectfully (throwing, rolling eyes, making faces), as if they were something dirty, didn't leave a good impression on me. Personally, I find this person very unsympathetic and super negative. And by the way cheap looks....maybe it's time for a hairdresser? Her hair outgrowth look quite cheap too.
Stopped buying fast fashion long time ago. Getting clothes done by a tailor is one of the best decisions I made ✌🏻
Love the video ❤️
@Charusara Adikari Do you take a “Pattern” like brands Butterick or Vogue to the tailor along with your fabric and have him or her create your garment?
Or do you give the tailor a photo and have them create it?
Also, do you have the tailor make several of the same designs [at same time so they can be efficient] but in different colors?
Thank you, in advance, for your response. I have thought of using a tailor (sometimes called seamstress).
Greetings from Chicago 🌸
Yes I’d love to know this too- this is something I’ve wondered about and would like to do myself! 😘
@@safikasafika We’re both waiting patiently for the details. I’m in US - Chicago- so it could be pricey BUT if I get 1-2 dress patterns and different fabric material, that can make several items.
Hello Ladies,
I usually get inspired from many fashion designs, I save interesting garments I see online or in Pinterest and change things based on my choice.
(It’s sounds like a big process but it’s not)
I don’t like to have same design in two colours (but it’s a personal choice). Like you mentioned it is efficient to get it like that.
Hope this is informative. ❤️

Polyester is the devil
One more reason not to buy from Zara: every other girl will be wearing the same as you! Anyone else noticed?
Their items are made in small quantities since micro-trends every 2 weeks emerged in stores. So no, it's difficult to wear the same thing another woman wears from Zara since a few years ago when this new marketing technique started. You may see the same items on their online shop but many are sold out. This is a strategy to buy instantly when you find something you like.
ha neul i read bout this.. it’s a great strategy
“Anna for president !” Yes! That was the part I agreed with the most 🤩
Anna please make a video showing clothes and brands that you find elegant. Thanks 😊
For ladies in Europe, I can suggest trying BestSecret online shop and app. It is a German outlet that sells a really huge variety of mid- and high-range brand clothing with amazing discount prices. They have great filters, so you can choose at least 70 or 80 % discount and buy classy fashion items that used to cost a small fortune for just 20 or 30 euros now. Plus, they have a very convenient return policy. You can use this registration code to get an additional 10% discount for your first purchase: VDC-5KF-KPT
Dear @@katrinapriede4629 thanks for your reply. I’ll check the site (app) that you propose and if I find something please be sure that I’ll use your discount code. Thank you once again for your answer, I appreciate.
I completely agree with you! It's impossible look good wearing these type of garment! Very cheap fast fashion store! Your are my best mentor I ever had! Thanks! Kisses from Italy.❤️
Dear Anna, I loved this video so much! I wish you could compare cheap looking stuff with expensive💕 would be such a great chance to see the difference! Especially when it comes to the blazers 😊
He take care of my all needs, he calls me regularly even he is always busy . He takes me for volunteering activities, he takes me high profile parties. Now, I know very powerful people of south india .
All, thanks to you .. Thankyou, thankyou Anna🙏
Hi, I am glad that you are happy and successful.
I am from India too, and I struggle with finding affordable fashion, do you have any suggestion regarding?
Your help will be appreciated.
@@oddeven327 Hello sister, I hope you had a lovely weekend. So, coming to your question, I dont buy dresses anymore, I buy high quality fabrics from wholesale markets , I live in Delhi so From Lajpat nagar, Mangolapuri , Chandni chauk and Silampur market. I stitch dresses, kurtis , skirt and suits. For winters I am mostly in turtle neck from Mango. Hope this will help you.
Success story ❤️
Your story is so inspiring, thanks for sharing it with us.
@@AnuKumari-yz9bu thanks, it helped.
If you watch the video she recommended at the end of this one, she does show how to buy good pieces from Zara. This video was just about the bad ones.
Thank you 💗🌸
Alternative title: "How to be Elegant and Classy while Roasting ZARA!"
Can Zara sue her?
I was wondering... 🤔 another comment gave me the idea... she wants other businesses to pay her to promote their products 🤔
@@kdijack1089 she mentioned it on the video, when she had not much money she used to go hunting for elegant pieces there. But as soon as she realised how to dress better she stopped buying there.
It’s called growing.
@@frankiefranfraser That could be a strategic move; you’ve hit upon something. Still, whatever her motivation, it’s always an insightful clip.
So are you saying she’s wrong? It’s a reminder to me to slow down and think before I buy, she gives tips to make us ladies look better…this is 👍. I’m sure Zara will be fine and perhaps you gained something positive here🌸
@@cUser691 Yes. Always interesting to watch.
Anna helps me by feeling ok to sant to be financially stable and ok to want nice things in life 🙂😁🙂💖💖💖
But Anna, that is how fast fashion make their profit! :)
I was going to say that!
Exactly! And they mass produce. So many new collections coming out. It's insane. Zara is catering the needs of the consumer. As long as there are people buying their poorly made pieces that do not question their ethics behind the way they produce their garments, nothing will change. We as consumers have to be more selective how and where we shop.
God, i love this woman so much!
She's just fantastic, elegant and down to earth! May Allah bless you, Anna, you're the best!
Hello, elegant Anna! I live in a small town near Rio de Janeiro, we do not have Zara here, but after watching your videos I know better how to choose my clothes. I'm greatful for your tips, they help me elevate my taste and create a style my own. Thank you, beautiful!!!
High street outfits are barely elegant, I'd rather have fewer clothes with good quality than having more clothes that look cheap!
Same with me. We must go for quality and fewer pieces, rather than tons of clothes which are fast fashion and cheap.
You chose cheap things to show but Zara usually has he most high quality look among all of the fast fashion brands.
exactly she just did that being smart when you go shopping is very important i buy things that looks so expensive actually and i elevate my look with brand shoes and a bag and everyone thinks i wear only brands i have brands but also i like zara
@@noorqr2258 same here! I prefer to have good discreet leather shoes and brand bags...
💯. But I think this video is about discouraging fast fashion altogether
The truth is they are from Zara
No...Zara is cheap AF.
We love your wardrobe! Please do a video on where you shop and budget friendly store you recommend.
@@IEVAKambarovaite no, the most environmentally friendly thing you can do is to buy used clothing.
Ohhhh a lot of peoples feelings are gonna get hurt with this one!! 😂
Sadly, Zara is very expensive! 29€ is almost $50 USD! For something that won’t last it’s unreasonable.
@@CatsInHats-S.CrouchingTiger expensive for how bad the quality is, no better than Primark
That must have been awful
Thank you, Anna for sharing your personality and for never holding back on your honest opinions. I’ve always loved and enjoyed your videos and now that you’re sharing more of your personality I love them even more. Please continue to maintain your wonderful, high quality work❤️
Most fast fashion (Zara, Forever 21, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Target, Old Navy, etc.) degrades quickly and is a waste of $. Better to save up and buy staples that will last longer and always be in style
Like what which brands? Which midrange brands do you recommend ?
Anne Klein is a good start! @M6989
It’s hard to find something that will always be in style. The cuts of pants, tops, even jackets and sweaters change over time. If I bought what I thought was a classic womens suit 10 years ago, it would look very dated now.
Dressing for your coloring and body type will never go out of style.
Agree with EVERYTHING - once you know, these things it just become so obvious whenever you go shopping 😭
Yes very true
So true 😂😂
I from South Africa and Zara is considered to be for higher middle class.
I completely agree with you, I'm in South Africa too. I think Zara is overpriced here as well
South African here! I also think Zara is expensive. I only buy pants from them and tops at Forever New.
I'm from India and Zara is considered expensive for middle class, and sort of normal for upper middle class.
@@JustLaylar smart idea I'll do that as well, Durban never has anything omg.. There rarely is stock I tell you.
I seen Zara Store in Honduras
It's a step-up for them too - which I long for that, no offense to them they needed a fashion upgrade in Honduras
I love how funny you are Anna! You look like you're so much more yourself these last years! Much love ❤️🇳🇱
The thing that I don’t like the most or my PET PEEVE in clothes, even if the color or form is great, is the QUOTES or PHRASES in clothes.
100% agree! You have to be very careful when selecting pieces from Zara! It is shocking to me that some pieces are even approved for manufacturing and put on the rack for sale 🤷♀️
Absolutely! I was just checking out their garments in store and most are falling apart!
I think they have good stuff and also some “cheap” looking stuff. I think fast fashion need to stop making those badly design clothes because it’s not environment friendly and it’s didn’t get sold as well.
Why is everyone surprised about this? It's made sweat shops for goodness sakes. Why would it be quality?
I had a dream last night that Anna came to my house as a style consultant, went through my wardrobe, and threw half of it out. Then when we were done she gave me tips for when shopping. She never asked to be paid but I just knew she had a fee and that she was expensive, so I paid without her having to say anything. 😂 You have indoctrinated me well Anna!
Everything you said...so true! Now I know! Thank you... hello from Greece!
You're so elegantly savage in this video and I love it 🤣 Gotta level up that wardrobe!
I’m pretty relieved to know now why I can never find anything at Zara. I was felt that it must be me 😄 So where DO I shop???
You are so right about the tent-like, unflattering cuts on so many of their clothes. I always wonder who buys those because you would have to be a teeny tiny size not to look like a house in them!
You are SO right. I must admit to wasting money on Zara clothes. They look great in the shop but less great the moment you decide to bring them out of your own wardrobe!
