I could listen to Otmaro for the rest of my days and never get tired. His playing is truly from another dimension ❤ he is a beautiful person and a good friend too. His music is as huge as his heart. If keyscape wasn't so expensive in South Africa, I'd have gotten it in a heartbeat. This has become my go to channel for great music. Thank you for this..
I've been listening to Otmaro's music for 30 years, now, and never had the opportunity to see him in concert, so it's always a treat to see him play "live"… ☺☺✨
Nord, Yamaha, Kurzweil, Roland... they should be very worried about this... Keyscape is NOW leading the way in piano sounding. Purchasing it right now!
I keep coming back to this videos every year, there have been some magnificent performances portrayed through this channel and i feel precious for having the chance of looping them the whole day.
Always keep in mind that this is not a real piano! This sounds soo insanely accurate it's incredible. Just the hammering in the high notes and the depth of the sound, even at this frequency...
ok, so i have been playing guitar for the past 10 years and have always been playing metal. my love for music has brought me different places, genres and instruments. these kind of players and music pieces just makes me want to start playing piano. how do i even start to learn and play majestic music like these? The sentimental beauty of each note just evokes an emotion of bittersweet melancholy the i have seemed to have missed out on. thank you spectrasonics for bringing these kinds of musicians on this channel.
You begin playing. Then you begin discovering beauty. Over time your vocabulary increases and expression deepens. It's really a matter of finding enjoyment in the process of following your subjective taste and allowing it to assume whatever forms it may. Rather than trying to sound like someone or something in particular, you listen where the sounds themselves want to take you.
Been playing metal for 10 years on guitar.... got a full size electric piano a few months ago, starting off with Eric Satie... giving myself 5 years to get some chopin down pat ;)
Same here. Drummer for 40 years since I was 5. Started to play piano 2 years ago. The shock came from listening Piano Solitude, Steve weingarter, omtaro, philippe saisse. This tune takes me immediately to 'impressionism' style. Check Respighi (italian composer). How to jump into this style without this takes me 40 years more? :) Hard to say. But this very style, I start to get satisfaction after play around over and over and over. Sounds unbelievable but for me it is so. At a newbie level of course. To play really like this, I think you really need 40 years more. Eheh
QUE BONITO ES PLAMAR UNA IDEA MUSICAL CUANDO SE LOGRA UNA GRAN SONORIDAD EN UN INSTRUMENTO VIRTUAL FELICITACIONES A LOS CREADORES SPECTRASONICS POR TAN GRAN LOGRO DEL SONIDO DEL PIANO ..Y A MI HERMANO COMPATRIOTA VENEZOLANO POR LA EJECUCION EN EL PIANO DE ESA HERMOSA MELODIA MUSICAL. UN GRAN ABRAZO EL GRAN OTMARO RUIZ ORGULLO VENEZOLANO!!!
Gracias Otmaro and Spectrasonics! It's 3 am here in southeast. Time to hit the keys. May the inspiration of Gabriel Faure and the Impressionists guide my notes...
Eric, when I see videos like this, I appreciate newly your passion to make the means to available for artists to express their deepest and most pure art.
Que regalo a los oídos hermano, no solo las melodías, sino la conexión de tus manos con tu feeling, que manera tan bella de tocar, solo Otmago ...lo he escuchado como 70 veces jeje.
saw him in Hengelo about a month ago , together with simon phillips. Only later I connected this piece and that concert together. In both cases a fantastic musician,..
Hi Ejay, no, I don't know which one is used in the Spectrasonics video. But at the studio, I match Spectrasonics Keyscape to my keyboard controller, from it's drop down selection of brands/models, and it's the best match feel for any piano library I've ever found.
Please invite the great master of the piano Aydin Esen to improvise with Keyscape. He does things no man thought was possible. Seeing him do that on Keyscape would go viral I suppose.
I physically shed a few tears on this one. This is improv? Say it ain't so! Simply divine. Several moments of Nirvana while scooping every delectable note. It was like slowly chewing on a well-aged, litely-seasoned medium rare filet mignon with small sips of a 74' Cabernet Sauvignon in between. Ethereal Bliss. Thanks for introducing me to this muse. Inspiring angel! ! ! Keyscape is as amazing as well. Total package here! You've made my millennium!
I invite you to listen to my album "Dark". It's a piano improvised album focused on expressing and developing emotions through the piano. ruclips.net/video/gLiQjz6EW4Q/видео.html. Aaand I also invite you to listen to "Free Soul", which is leading towards the bright side of life with jazz inspirations. ruclips.net/video/MVsUrF0e7vA/видео.html
Mmm mm. This on a gorgeous summers morn, loud, over coffee and toast with the fragrance of orange blossom and salt air. It happened. I am blessed, life is short...
I love The Piano Sound! You guys nailed it. Spectrasonics is the most versatile and best sounding library ever made. No Eq needed, no efx. I virtual composers dream. Is that a Roland 88 Key controler? When I wake up i fire up MOTU Dp9 and Spectrasonics Omnisphere and Trillian, and Keycap. Its like "Fresh" and you get lost composing every day. Need an Idea for the film or show your working on,,, Just go through some patches. Its like christmas every day with the 1000's of sounds. see they are ALL GOOD so you don't get filler junk. Amazing Truly an adventure in every note.
This may sound crazy, but I would love for Spectrasonics to do a blind test between a real acoustic piano vs one of the the Spectrasonic pianos to see if our ears can detect the difference....
Same .. I just got done watching a Valentina video playing one of them big & fancy Bosendorfer pianos and I couldn't really tell the difference. Just the reverb difference.
pianists, recording/ VI wizards, and some hardcore audiophiles might be able to reliably tell the difference in a true blind test, but I bet random people off the street would have a very tough time telling the difference. I doubt think I'd be able to tell the difference without a lot of practice and I consider myself a medium-core audiophile. (or maybe a hardcore audiophile with a medium core budget).
Try a blind test with a grand piano in not a record but a real performance. I think a lot will answer right where is a real piano and where is just a good piano record.
I love this vibe. The beginning Almost reminds me of the save room in resident evil games. Like, calm and safe....but it’s still not safe. Uncertainty..Idk if that makes sense.
I could listen to Otmaro for the rest of my days and never get tired. His playing is truly from another dimension ❤ he is a beautiful person and a good friend too. His music is as huge as his heart. I could watch keyscape videos all day long and start over the next day.
I even came here today to watch cos why not
I've been listening to Otmaro's music for 30 years, now, and never had the opportunity to see him in concert, so it's always a treat to see him play "live"… ☺☺✨
Maestro Otmario Ruiz, maravillosa melodia, toca las fibras mas hondas del alma.
Lovely and peaceful and unexpected harmonies at times🎵🎹
Absolutely beautiful composition. This man's spirit, his soul, is in another realm...
Man, I have a thing for a dark piano sound and he did justice to the patch! He painted an imaginative atmosphere.
Nord, Yamaha, Kurzweil, Roland... they should be very worried about this... Keyscape is NOW leading the way in piano sounding. Purchasing it right now!
wow, unreal how people can improvise like this. baffled.
I keep coming back to this videos every year, there have been some magnificent performances portrayed through this channel and i feel precious for having the chance of looping them the whole day.

Mesmerising composition! Elements of Debussy coming through.
Una pieza llena de hermosura y vigor. Un saludo desde Caracas...

Impactante sonidote del Piano...¡¡¡😎😎😎
Esse sabe tocar a alma. Quem tem ouvidos ouça!
I have never grown tired of listening to the solo he does in a song called "El destino" by Ilan Chester. Amazing keyboard player.
Superbly touching performance, also watch Otmaro with Simon Phillips and the Protocol 4 band , stunning work !
Always keep in mind that this is not a real piano! This sounds soo insanely accurate it's incredible. Just the hammering in the high notes and the depth of the sound, even at this frequency...

Well this was a joy to listen to… took my mind/thoughts to many places. Thanks Eric & company.
Spectrasonics, I love the choice of keyboard controller model to match Keyscape feel to our own keyboards. Beautiful job, Otmaro Ruíz!
Steven Cravis hey do you know what midi controller this is?
Hi Ejay, no, I don't know which one is used in the Spectrasonics video. But at the studio, I match Spectrasonics Keyscape to my keyboard controller, from it's drop down selection of brands/models, and it's the best match feel for any piano library I've ever found.
Kawai vpc1 is the best controller for piano VST. PERIOD!!
Magnific ❤
Second time this channel made me cry!
Please invite the great master of the piano Aydin Esen to improvise with Keyscape. He does things no man thought was possible. Seeing him do that on Keyscape would go viral I suppose.

Alexandre Desplat is a film composer who's scores have a lot of compositions like this

Check out Bill Laurance. His piano playing is similar
Have a listen to 'Alma' by Egberto Gismonti - whole album of brilliant piano compositions played by the man himself.
It all comes from Debussy. Try his Arabesque No1.
весьма хорошо играет, эту музыку можно сразу в кинофильм вставлять без обработки
God this is incredible, so dreamy
Mmm mm. This on a gorgeous summers morn, loud, over coffee and toast with the fragrance of orange blossom and salt air. It happened. I am blessed, life is short...
Beautiful.....
Sounds very Lyle Mays-ish... brilliantly played, Otmaro!!

Maj Jam im sure theres a big difference coz nothing will beat the real one.. its close or very close but never be the same.. 😄
Jade Pascual, duh 😂😂😂😂
I know it’s not the same, but I’d put big money on people guessing wrong.

Great music when eating Italian food!!!
OMG!!! 🎹🔝
Debussy v2.0! 🥰
Whenever I'll drink coffee, I'll make sure I play this and everybody is silent, because Keyscape.
Он лучший
I love this vibe. The beginning Almost reminds me of the save room in resident evil games. Like, calm and safe....but it’s still not safe. Uncertainty..Idk if that makes sense.
Grandissimo
Absolutely beautiful. If you don’t mind me asking, what is the midi controller that you guys are using here?
Great
