- Good afternoon, ladies and gents, and welcome back to the channel. In this video, I am field testing a number of flammable products from an independent company, "Twisted Fire Starter!" Simon has kindly sent over a box of his wares for me to test in an outdoor environment. These tinder's are windproof and waterproof and can be ignited with a fire steel, which is an important characteristic of any bushcraft tinder. Let's put these to the test and see if his claims are true!

Very high quality review as always! Your passion for the bushcraft craft clearly shows. Thanks again for the information as always!
Cheers for watching, buddy. I appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
Dude, you didn’t say “rub your butt cheeks together to start fire for all you care.” Hilarious! 😂😂😂
😆 😂 I bet there are a few that can 😄
I would have thought that twisted firestarter was a nod to THE PRODIGY
I believe he is a big prodigy fan 😄
Great video, Ste!!
Cheers Ste m8.
Those fire tinders are sweet Ste
Cheers, buddy, there were 3 I liked.
I carry at least 3 lighters, one in my pocket, one with my cook kit and one in my fire kit.cant have enough fire methods in your kit. I made an almost critical mistake when I was younger, relying on old methods ,which all failed .If I was my age now back then, I would surely have died , but I have never made the same mistake since luckily..Great bits of kit you have there ,got similar kit already in my pack etc .God bless .Lee
That's right, Lee, to many individuals, are to be full of pride to add a lighter to their kit! No Greg ovens says famously. "If you can't get a fire going with a firesteel, you have no business in bushcraft!" Haha. If I was in a real survival situation, I'd be reaching for my lighter each time every time! Take care bud.
Those lines on your ferro aren't helping. the spine may need a sharpen ont knife or a new ferro rod may be a bit better .😊. Not trying to teach you to suck eggs btw ..Lee
Thanks Lee, that steel is pretty much brand new and only used it with the leshy in the last knife video. I will be picking a few up. Take it east fella.
Very nice indeed good informative video again Ste thanks for sharing 👍 😀
Thank you for watching my awesome man. Hope you are well. Take care.
Awesome green screen!! 😂 hope you're both doing well!!
Hi Ste, Im glad you and your mrs are fine. During my military service, when most of excercises where in field, most appriciated thing was Zippo! That was 1996-2008!Still believe that if you have Zippo you will be fine 😂Good luck to you from NI mate
I do love the traditional touch of the zippo. I loved mine, but every time I came to use it, it was empty 😄
Some nice 🔥 starters there Ste.
They are very good m8.
These are great emergency fire starters I realy like that tiny box I know them from another branch thanks for showing and testing all these items once again I like them take care pal!
Cheers, Fred, they definitely do the job! The 3 I held on to are worth your money. Take it easy.
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors shall check them out sometime see if they ship to the Netherlands
Cool stuff
These are all fantastic I need to get me some of these ! ❤️
They get the job done. Even the ones that didn't quite light after being wet still work when dry. Thanks.
Hi Ste, good unbiased test. Also, (if they don't break on you!) you can still use the lighters to make sparks even when they run out of fuel.
Very true 👍 the cool sparks would definitely work with a flash tinder like thistle or a cat tail. Thanks Eddie. Take care.
Good video, there's some nice Firestarters there, some just need a little tweaking,we all like a roaring fire, some more than others 🤪, can't fault a bit of the prodigy 🐜
😄 🤣 exhale exhale exhale, you're the victim 😄

@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors 😂😂😂 that would have been a good one lol
Hi Ste, those look like some good fire starters. Like you said, there is so many out there, it's hard to make up your mind. I'll have to give those a look. Thanks for the video!🔥👍
Out of all of them, the 3 I pointed out were very effective. Thanks for watching buddy. Take care.

Thanks for watching 👀 🙂
I make my own.. I'm always looking for good ideas and some of those are fantastic 😊
It is fun to do and experiment. Thank bud.
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors my wife says failure is part of innovation 🤣🤣🤣
@Drew-Abbott 😄 we do not fail we just find a hundred ways that do not work first of all hahaha
Nice review, wish trust were food safe but thanks for pointing that out.
What ferro rod and knife are you using there?
He is working on a food safe version, I believe. I will let you know if this happens. Take care.
Cotton wool in vaseline or wax is so much better especially in terms of value for money. Same to be said for fatwood.
What camera do you use ste?
Hi, it's a Sony zve10 with Sigma f2.8 18-50 mm
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors nice! I've actually just bought that exact camera. I'm pretty excited seeing how nice your footage is. Thanks mate 👍
Pp10 is the log I use, bud, then colour correct in edit.
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors you not have problems with the battery or overheating? I just recorded 10 mins of 4k and it over heated.. it also looks like I'll only get around 30mins recording time per battery.. how are you dealing with those issues?
So it's basically an ad for this company?
That's the idea? Helping a small business.
Hahahaha………butt cheeks and fire should never go together 😂
😆 😂 what about great balls of fire 😆
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors …..hahaha even less appropriate…..ouch
😄
I’ve been camping and fishing for 25 years now, and I never understand why people use flint and steel to start fires. It’s like using a candle as a head torch. Yes it will work, but it’s just a very inefficient way to start a fire and prob weighs more than a packet of lighters. The only reason they exist is for people to nerd out. They are absolutely not practical in a survival situation and whilst I have wasted money on some crap over the years, a flint and steel is something I will never buy. I wouldn’t even use one if I got it for free.
I get ya. Bow drill, flint, and steel and all all other primitive fire lighting methods have their place at the bushcraft school after all these tricks are the teachers' bread and butter 😄 For real survival scenarios naked flame paired with lots of flammable tinder's for the win. Take care.
Flint and steel save a lot of money, it's more cost effective than using matches or a lighter, it is more environmentally friendly, too and its a matter of a personal preference.
Regards
if you were to go through my pack you would probably find about 12 lighters :) interesting test, they all would probably work good if dry 🤷 take care both 👍🏕
Yeah, I tried the 3 that didn't light when wet, dry, and they worked fine, m8. Lighters for the win 😄
