This video really touched me! I live in an apartment, alone, in the suburbs. And, about a year ago, I started to feel the pull to slower, more meaningful, intentional living, after finding your channel, and a few others that are similar. Since then, I have slowly morphed my surroundings into a softer, more gentle environment, reverting back to older ways of life (breadmaking, nourishing foods, baking, canning), and decreasing my screentime, TV, and the types of content I am injesting. I learned that slow life lesson almost too late. I was a workaholic and knew I was about to hit the wall I finally made the decision to get out of working altogether at the age of 60 because what I didn't know was that I had developed a blood clot and not just a small one but it was the whole vein. I shouldn't have survived but by the grace of God, I did. So, whatever is stressing you out stop and think is it worth it. The answer is no. Slower living and mindful living is the right choice.
God moved me out of the bigger Chicagoland area to a small little country town in Kansas. I’m so much happier now and feel the peace of God. I know I’m in His will. I love your videos.

After working most of my adult life in a very chaotic, and emotionally charged profession...I knew that a slower paced, intentional, meditative, God centered life was what I needed. My husband and I retreated in retirement to a calming cabin in the woods. The best decision ever ft or us. Thanks for spreading the good news, there is a better way.

While I lack many things that the world and loved ones think are necessary, I have His Peace that passes all human understanding and that guards my heart in Christ Jesus. I lack nothing! I am Full! I am dreaming of a quiet life. I have got rid of WiFi from my house, just for the summer, and while I have to do so much of my work from the library, I enjoy coming home and simply...messing around trying to learn the guitar, or chatting with my roommate, or reading books!
Thanks for this video Le. My husband asked me today whose RUclipsr now, I am following and watching. I told him, it is you and he agreed that your videos are peaceful and encouraging. We live in Suburb NorCaL and I work 9 hours a day but with 1 Monday off every other week. As you mentioned, wherever we are we can start a gentle living. I believe that the environment we live in is one factor on how we live. I always stay at home if I am not at my regular job. Spend time with my husband, attending to our chickens, bunnies (we have new babies today 😊) and quail. Also, gardening and doing household work. My friend(s) will tell me that I should go out and have fun and enjoy life. What they don't understand is that working in the garden, attending our pets and spending time with my husband are my joy. Most importantly, gardening and attending to our animals is my quiet moment where I can spend time with God while enjoying what I am doing. Like at night, after I tucked the pets in their respective safety places, I would stay outside and sit in a wooden chair inside our chicken run or in the garden, enjoy the breeze of the wind, staring at the moon and stars and talk to God.
Thanks for sharing. I’m finding more peace and gratitude in my slow and quiet living lately. In the process of retiring and being at home instead of an hostile work environment is the best therapy and preparation on the planet. Thank you Jesus! God’s plans are the best! 😊 🙏🏾
I aspire to live “slow” and “gentle” one day. I am so anxious and feel like I live how others want me to live, I wanna go off and do things my way and breathe while worrying less. I’m 22 and can’t believe hoe tense I am everyday, I feel it in my body and it bothers me.
It is not perfect, but we must not let the perfect be the enemy of the good, I've heard it said. And, I agree. The simpler life is far, far better. Slowing down is far, far better. Growing your own food is far, far better. We need not pretend perfection; just greater enjoyment of life.
I love seeing that little pier and lake you go to! It looks so peaceful and tranquil. What a beautiful spot to connect with God and enjoy his beautiful creation. To be still and Know that he is God. I am so guilty at times of thinking I can't live slower because I don't live in the country or an isolated enough environment, and I'm all too guilty of coveting what I see on social media. That haze is a lovely sight, I live in the suburbs of NJ just 20-30 mins out of the city, and definitely am not a city person, but have been to nyc countless times and understand what you stated about it. I definitely would not be fond of living there or having to work there. It is farrrr too busy and crazy at times. Are you in the Catskills or not in ny at all?
I’m a Jersey girl too. I’ve also been to NY and even though I’ve had dreams of moving there, as I got older I realize it’s not for me. I’m a slow paced, stop to see the scenery type of girl. I couldn’t handle the hustle and bustle 😂

Having a large family does carry with it a little chaos…that’s okay. I’m a mom of 5 and one thing that’s helped immensely is having systems for household duties. Another help is having routine and schedules…that can be adapted easily. I also have a huge copper kettle and I write down little things on scratch paper or napkins or whatever, when the kids do something cute or funny or just something I want to remember. I throw the scraps in the kettle and on New Year’s Eve every year we pull them out and read them. Just take a second to be super present… lock in the smell of toddler hair, and teenage squeaky voices, grade school gap teeth and the first week of having a newborn. Literally take a deep breath while you focus on the smell, texture and sight of each thing and event. Snapshot that in your mind…and take snapshots of things you hope to happen to! Peace be with you 🩷

Would you talk more about your journey coming from an abusive relationship and finding God and gentle slow living? I have been out of a very extreme domestic violence situation (lasted 14 years) for 9 months now. I need some help and advice. I’ve found that my body cannot run at much of a pace anymore, my body failed me and I ended up with a number of health problems. I am just discovering that extremely slow gentle living is all my body will allow me to do now. I’d love to hear more about your journey and how you got to where you are now

God has already predestined the life of the body. You just simply focus on God. God wants you to just be. The devil wants you to change the world and everything around you, wants you to be busy. God made this world perfect. You as spirit just use this body for 100 years. In these 100 years you have to give up your ego and love God only. Everyone is guided by God through different paths. Everyone has some kind of interest in the world and God tries to let you know that your only interest needs to be Him. There is nothing else than God. So everyone is on a different level interested in the world and God. But hardly nobody is only interested in loving God only. Those are the lovers of God. The rest are lovers of the world.

Your skies are the exact same as ours here in southeast Michigan. Today was the first time in awhile I saw nice blue skies. The older I get the more I love my quiet life just staying home working around the yard or inside doing little things I enjoy. It’s peaceful and stress free most of the time.

I live in the suburbs of NJ just 20-30 mins out of the city, and definitely am not a city person, but have been to nyc countless times and understand what you stated about it. I definitely would not be fond of living there or having to work there. It is farrrr too busy and crazy at times. Are you in the Catskills or not in ny at all?
I’m a Jersey girl too. I’ve also been to NY and even though I’ve had dreams of moving there, as I got older I realize it’s not for me. I’m a slow paced, stop to see the scenery type of girl. I couldn’t handle the hustle and bustle 😂

I wish I could understand how to live the calm slower life with a large family. I feel like perhaps there's a way.......I don't know the way.......🥲 I have been getting rid of things. I hope that will help....... Thank you for the beautiful glimpses into your life💗
Having a large family does carry with it a little chaos…that’s okay. I’m a mom of 5 and one thing that’s helped immensely is having systems for household duties.
Another help is having routine and schedules…that can be adapted easily.
I also have a huge copper kettle and I write down little things on scratch paper or napkins or whatever, when the kids do something cute or funny or just something I want to remember. I throw the scraps in the kettle and on New Year’s Eve every year we pull them out and read them.
Just take a second to be super present… lock in the smell of toddler hair, and teenage squeaky voices, grade school gap teeth and the first week of having a newborn. Literally take a deep breath while you focus on the smell, texture and sight of each thing and event. Snapshot that in your mind…and take snapshots of things you hope to happen to!

Would you talk more about your journey coming from an abusive relationship and finding God and gentle slow living? I have been out of a very extreme domestic violence situation (lasted 14 years) for 9 months now. I need some help and advice. I’ve found that my body cannot run at much of a pace anymore, my body failed me and I ended up with a number of health problems. I am just discovering that extremely slow gentle living is all my body will allow me to do now. I’d love to hear more about your journey and how you got to where you are now
