Need to make a decision for this watch by Sunday, but found SPB335 locally in US for $665 and was able to negotiate a price from Japanese dealer of SBDC183 to ¥102,720 (= $706.00) but international price is + $50. I'm on the fence of which one to get, yes they are technically the same watch but one is Japanese exclusive.
Great review of my future watch.

The important thing about both pieces is that they’re limited editions. The JDM element is cool but buying directly from Japan does have some downside. The last time I bought from a Japanese vendor, the watch was stuck in customs for a week.
If you like the aesthetics of the watch, I would say go with the SPB335 that is here in the US. Either way, you’re going to get a great watch. Good luck!

@meccakrang Are you able to discern any aesthetic difference between the JDM and the one available in the US?

@@thewatchgame Alas, I am not. Judging from pics of the SPB335 from the web, it would appear that it’s identical to the SBDC183, even down to being a 1 of 4500 LE.

@@meccakrang Awesome feedback, and with just 2 hours left, I chose the JDM route for my purchase on Chrono24. It's my first time buying there. My previous JDM watch, the Baby Tuna (SBDY053), was from Sakurawatches. They provided swift shipping and offered the best price I could find. Which I plan to use again for future Seiko's..

Mine is 0037/4500. So is there 4500 335's and 4500 183's? Mine is the 183 btw

Cool relaxed layman review. Reminds me of old school youtube reviews. Btw, is the bezel insert aluminum?

Thanks! No fancy lighting, cameras or editing here. Yes, it's an aluminum insert.

Nice watch. I like the colors. Were it not for that little date window I would buy one. I may anyway. Most ltd eds by Seiko are not numbered any longer. Theyre stamped Limited Edition and claim 4500 were made. Seems sketchy to me. But whtever. Seiko (yet again) is issuing another 62 MAS homage [the SJE093] which looks like it might be actually be numbered w/ only 1,965 being made. It's just more of a novelty at that point bc the movement in this watch (which cost less than 1/3rd of the $3500. theyre listing it at in the US) has gotten some mediocre reviews in the past [Yesterday's Watch Review, Today! The SLA017 Limited Edition 62mas, 2018]. It will be 38mm x 12.5mm thickness, but the price for what youre getting is a lot more abt the small limitation than the engineering going into the piece. Personally, If Im going to spent that much on a diver,, Tudor BB 58 - which has a 39mm case and is COSC and built like a true tool watch and will run you $3-$4 less than the Seiko.

I think the date window is a bit more subtle than other 4:30 date windows.
