    Jamie....I just love how you are so down to earth. Everyday ingredients for the common folk...and it comes out so beautifully plated every time...... Even with untoasted nuts. Lol

      You can leave the flowers out and it'll still be a cracking dish - you should always adjust a recipe to make it suit you.

    Quick tip about asparagus for helping to stretch your dollar! When we buy it at the store, we usually buy it by the pound and if you break it off then a lot of what you paid for goes to waste. However, I learned a trick from a local foodie show that you cut off the super dried end (about an inch) and then can actually use a peeler and peel away at the "stocky" end until you get the green and white parts showing. This method allows you to retain at least 50% of what you would have thrown away as edible asparagus giving you more food for your buck!

    I grilled some asparagus on the barbecue the other day, can't see why you wouldn't use olive oil as it gives such a lovely flavour! That couscous looks amazing btw :D

      Cooked it today! I used wholemeal spelt couscous instead of the regular kind, and lime and peppermint instead of lemon and spearmint. I used way too much lime juice and didn't chop the herbs enough, but I liked the flavour anyway!

    That plate at the end needs something red, like cherry tomatoes on the side, to look more appetising - especially for kids! There's a lot of green but not really any other vivid colour.

      +Jamie Oliver funnily enough, I was just watching the Food Network where your 15 minute tv show was on just after Chef-Host Hiang-He Huang and she did a 'wicked' Mongolian lamb wrap (where the influences must be from nearby Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kurdistan etc)
      which I was going to try to find on RUclips, to post on FB.

    What can you use the leftover asparagus ends for? Can they be blanched and then blended into a purée?

      I suppose you could add them to a vegetable broth. They're too woody for a puree.

      soup!! boil them with some veggie stock and then blend it up!

      You could throw them in your garden to give your plants some added nutrients or use it to flavor stocks or soups.

    What a good recipe...the skewers for the kids might get them to eat the rest lol. BTW....love that trash bin you have.....I have a dinky one, otherwise I'd never take it out till the kitchen reeked. :)

    I would make this but use drumettes and lollypop them by inverting the meat down onto one end

      i think the point was to be able to make a fast nutritious meal and his way cooks much faster than a bone in piece of meat. Drum sticks are also great though, just take a little longer to cook properly.

    I have a couscous question please. My husband loves the couscous in Pizza Hut, but every recipe of couscous that I find has lemon juice in it, and my husband hates lemon juice in anything, he can taste even a teaspoon of it in a recipe for 6 people. What would be a good substitute.

      Mint can grow pretty much anywhere - but don't be afraid to use whatever herbs you have local to you.

    Oh my god why the vegatarian and vegan shit cant stop i am an vegetarian to but why both of you need do dpread hate in every video where cooked meat and animal products dont come to watch it when you dont like it and the other side is the same dont hate them also.... Everybody should eat what they want and everybody is fine

      I like to use sugar snap peas sometimes instead of asparagus, not the same taste but it gives that sweet veggie flavor that gloes really well with lemony flavors.
