    Your statement that the other Cirrus aircraft are Turboprops is not correct. There is a HUGE difference between a turboprop, and a turbocharged engine. The turboprop aircraft is a propeller powered by a jet engine (turbine), whereas the turbocharged airplanes that Cirrus produces are piston engines that are turbocharge/turbonormalized engines driving a propeller. There are huge differences in performance and reliability between turboprops and turbocharged aircraft.
    Further, you tended to mix and match the cost and performance numbers between the various HondaJet Models (HondaJet, HondaJet Elite, HondaJet Elite S). The HondaJet Elite S is about $4.8 million, and has an IFR range of over 1,500 nm. The original HondaJet had the range that you mentioned.

    Honda all the way for me. More range, less noise in the cabin, more seating options and a potty in the back. Worth nothing that the newest prototype has a range of 2650 miles, a cruise speed of 450 knots and a ceiling of 47,000' .

    I wonder why someone would want the vision jet over a TBM850 or 930? It’s basically equal or better in every way performance wise. It’s cool that they made a single-engine jet, but too bad they didn’t target it price-wise closer $1M, it still boggles my mind that turbine has to = expensive. Turbine engines are so beautifully simple, but there’s no competition in the manufacturing space for such small engines.

    • @josh885
      @josh885 2 года назад +1

      Yeah the Vision jet is in an awkward place in the market. I think the idea of the Vision jet is for Cirrus customers to step up to it from like an SR22 and be able to say they own a jet for a low purchase price. It's 80% the cool factor that sells them. But problem for the Vision jet is if you are a little bet more rational with your purchases a cheaper to operate used single engine turboprop starts looking like a lot better value for around the same purchase price or just a little more. Especially since a used TBM 9xx, PC12, ect will have bigger cabins, higher max payloads, better ranges, and in some cases a lav. If you strip away the cool factor of owning a Jet with the fancy G3000 avionics and fighter plane style control stick the Single engine Turboprops come out looking like the better option by far compared to the Vision Jet. If you really want to step up from a single Turboprop only a twin engine light jet is really enough of a bump performance wise to be worth the extra cost.

      As for the TBM? The Cirrus is a jet. And it really is that simple. There is a cool factor that comes with that. Also the avionics are just a bit more modern the way they are incorporated into the craft. A parachute. Auto land.
      When you have money to spend on a jet, or a turboprop. Some folks will want the jet.

      the cirrus costs 1/2 what the honda does I mean 2.4 mill to honda 4.8 ,,DOUBLE to fill up? is like 300 gallons? 2000lbs of fuel? so a trip for people is like what 2.50 a gallon 1200 miles,, the honda is over double,, your using 2 engines and filling up, and then maint of 2 engines, hours on 2 engines, then you do not have the parachute system in a honda,, or the safe return button for passengers ruclips.net/video/PiGkzgfR_c0/видео.html

(now the only thing honda has is a potty? and costs twice as much, consumes way more fuel and can fly 10k higher? seems not even a competition? if I had kids I know I would feel better if they were in a Cirrus, and being able to land at smaller runways often means less hold times,, and better service?

Apart from your obvious bias based on inaccurate information, the newer Vision Jet has features no airplanes in the cost category have such as a ballistic parachute and auto-pilot safe return for starters.
