Use the spiral horn shield to help with bleed+frost negation and put holy ground on it. That would be nice little adjustment to help with the 2 most used status build ups. Awesome video man, gonna give this a try
Mohg's rune and frenzy healing stone. Considering you can choose to use Mohg's later during the invasion and frenzy stone will let you have more options for healing. Little bit more work, but just an idea.
If you plan on dropping the regen crystal tear for just casting bestial vitality, you could replace it with the status effect crystal tear. Boosts your status resistances to the freaking moon, which could help with the status spam you said the build struggles with
i like the holding your ground dynamic that this build creates you can really see how it differs from the usual running around, separating your enemies in the invasions against status effects. truly bringing back The Wall with this one
Late comment, but Mr Sane Ryan, have you thought of using either of the Feathered Branchsword talismans along with the Twinbird Kite shield? They work excellently on Regen builds like what you're showcasing in this video, and they're fitting thematically since lorewise they have some relation to Deathbirds and Death itself. Great video BTW love ur stuff.
Okay how great would this be? Imagine a DLC incantation called Judgment that has an area affect around the caster like Tranquil Walk of Peace in dark souls, but also makes it so you can't jump in it. I just loved it so much because the second you take away someone's ability to roll in dark souls it all comes down to what weapon and how you use it.
It’s great! Too bad it needs int and faith :/ problem is you need to build around golden order incants instead of being able to put a few points in something and slap them on
I'd add another small shield with vow of the indomitable on it as a mix up. that way once you activate holy ground you can soft swap to it and completely deny people doing damage to you at all even further
hey Saint, enjoy the videos, but I'm curious; do you ever level mind? it looks like your fp is always at base, and with builds that use spells a lot (such as Frog) it seems like more mind would be useful. is there a reason beyond efficiency that you don't level it?
All of my level 80 caster builds usually have around 20 mind. If I go to meta they may have like 25 mind. This build eats through FP but rather than level mind I just gave myself a 2nd blue flask.
As nice as poison spraymist is, if your goal is to take less damage, I would spew that acid spraymist that Patches uses. It's made of the ant rocks and the cookbook is in Ainsel.
For a paladin build, golden land and holy ground work amazing together. DR and regen and if they jump you, an insane AOE with follow up, anti air, and bullets. They either let you heal or get hit 🤷♂️
You can very much pad your resistances with choosing spiralhorn as your shield, opting for resistance talismans, investing in endurance up to 40 instead of patching equip load with greatjar, and biasing resistances in armor choice.
The way to counter those fog wall gankers was to find an area in the level to hide in and go do something else while they're stuck with you taking up the invader slot.
Golden vow could increase your absorption and damage as well, just be sure to use the spell cause the ash of war is nerfed to shit, uplifting aromatic too could work as could golden great arrows and they cost no fp but that's a little too meta for me.
Hey, would two-handed treespear with some buff (prolly lightning weapon, tho holy weapon works, and black flame is funny) work with this build? I saw 2H cause great spears don’t have hyper armor one-handed i believe. While one-handed you could stay in the circle with an eclipse great-shield or something and do shield pokes or something lol
re: talisman switching and such, I think these games would be greatly improved if you couldn't hardswap ANYTHING while in combat, but in exchange you could actually equip things in your 6 hand slots without them counting towards your weight unless you've soft-swapped to them.
A video post patch 1.10 where Saint doesn't bring up the Hand of Malenia? I can only assume that this means that it has always been a bad weapon that no one likes to use right now. Heh.
I really took notice of the price increase for upgrading my larger weapons recently while making my soldier of Godrick.. who is now a banished knight "Ava The Spurned" (if you know you know). The price to upgrade my longsword was like 1200 but to upgrade the banished knight halberds it's closer to 1600 for the same weapon level. And when you're upgrading several larger weapons it really adds up, but I guess that's the price you pay if you want to use multiple weapons with different ashes on em
Btw these hyper armor changes piss me off. Ppl just stand there and trade. Syart om apw eight before theyre about to get hit and say fuck ittake the hit and hit their big damage aow
Tbh the rotten build he used is completely available in game. It’s mainly iron flesh doing the work for you Ram into a clone of that build in the depths a few times
The build is awesome (and prolly a lil busted lol) but its super boring. Passively standing in a circle with slow weapons doesn't seem like its a blast to play.
@lt_johnmcclane true, but some already grief by standing afk on elevator pressure plates. Also, hosts still quit out when things don't go their way anyway. Most invaders want to actually invade, hosts are usually the ones griefing the invader by standing around ganking or afk farming.
I liked to use ds3’s life ring with the sword & shield talismans so I could swap it out and usually end up back at full health. The shield would raise my stats to where damage would typically fall in the range of life ring’s health increase.
You don’t have to apologize for being sick…we’ve known and accepted that you’ve been sick for years now.
I for one am overjoyed he finally apologized for this great offense and defense
Lmao
Every sayn ryan video regenerates my love for this game.

He uses Mohgs rune a lot

34:44 that poor hunter 🤣.
"Hold on guys!! Ill help!! Just lemme moon this motherf-"
Holy Ground is a good idea for my Tortuga Tank. It might compensate for when I'm heavy rolling. Hmm.. it would also be fun for a holy sumo wrestler!
i like the holding your ground dynamic that this build creates you can really see how it differs from the usual running around, separating your enemies in the invasions against status effects. truly bringing back The Wall with this one
holy ground sane ryan getting hit with the dollar store lightning bolt:
Regen with holy ground and bestial vitality is pretty insane. Throwing in a warming stone (or frenzyflame stone) takes it over the top.
Sorry you're sick Saint. But hey, while you're blowing your nose...why not try blowing some Great Oracle Bubbles!!!!
I'm all for these 40 min videos thank you sanrio bless you

TWOP would be mega abused, but slow weapons, spells and ashes would love it. I can dig it.
@charleshastings7260 black flame tornado would also have a field day.
Immutable shield has crazy elemental and status effect negation.

I miss those Adam Barker videos
Saint, we love the longer videos! more please!
Damn, that poor Blue. He was just trying to summon the moon. 😂

HAHAHAHAA that one shotted blue with the moon at 34:45 I have to make a low vig build like that just for the lols for everyone involved!
considering how much you are back backing that shield your should swap it to Spiralhorn Shield and that would help out with those status effects
As nice as poison spraymist is, if your goal is to take less damage, I would spew that acid spraymist that Patches uses. It's made of the ant rocks and the cookbook is in Ainsel.
Any sentence that begins: “As nice as poison spraymist is….” must be coming from a good place.
I tried to make a build that uses it and it's just too difficult to farm the stupid formic rock.

I suggest getting to 88 poise with the armor as the next major poise breakpoint is 102
Hope you feel better soon man, being sick is such a downer.
Take a drink every time saint says "prosthesis".
Ha! "Sick" is a frame of body and mind...When the SAINT you give a RIOT...Or is that backwards...Whatevers...No excuses...DO THE THING YOU DO SO WELL.
Miralda used twin axes! therefore, you should use dual Sacrificial Axes! 🌞 it would fit the theme
saint you gotta add the “please help” prattling pate to the build for the complete Mr. X reference
Im actually a pretty big fan of this build
The way to counter those fog wall gankers was to find an area in the level to hide in and go do something else while they're stuck with you taking up the invader slot.
would love to see the return of Miralda with the Ailment talisman from the dlc, to try and combat status spammers
Golden vow could increase your absorption and damage as well, just be sure to use the spell cause the ash of war is nerfed to shit, uplifting aromatic too could work as could golden great arrows and they cost no fp but that's a little too meta for me.
It’s nerfed in pvp. Not worth the squeeze.
Love the streams, love the videos. Keep up the good work man
get better soon, sain ryan! the CERTIFIED HOOD CLASSIC community wishes you well

It needs 22 Dex. This is a strength build
It’s not about the money. It’s about sending a message
Do health regen buffs stack I can’t tell if bestial vitality is stacking with golden vow or not
re: talisman switching and such, I think these games would be greatly improved if you couldn't hardswap ANYTHING while in combat, but in exchange you could actually equip things in your 6 hand slots without them counting towards your weight unless you've soft-swapped to them.
Such a fun build. Thanks for the video!
i like lansseax's glaive for hitting people that hide behind walls/around corners, very fun
Str build
question: how exactly does the math work on heavy infusing a weapon with almost all of its scaling in dex? Is it actually efficient?
40+ minute video from Sane Ryan???
Saint has done it the TANK
The blue that got one shot from your jump attack while doing the moon!!!!
Suck it
Does anybody know the track playing in the background?
Edit: oh
ʷᵒⁿᵈᵉʳᶠᵘˡˡ
Could Malenia's Great Rune be useful for this set up perhaps?
In PvE maybe but not for an invader. The great rune doesn't work for phantoms or invaders. Also it nukes your flask heals significantly.
@@saintriot Tbh that really outta be changed. I think we can all agree that Godrick's Great Rune shouldn't be the only good one.
the get in the circle build
5:03 saint_riot alpharad fan confirmed
A video post patch 1.10 where Saint doesn't bring up the Hand of Malenia?
I can only assume that this means that it has always been a bad weapon that no one likes to use right now.
Heh.
He mentioned it a couple of times, in previous videos post 1.10.
And the Rotten Duelist Axe doesnt get the increased charge attack damage on top of all that Saint
for every miniboss there were like 100 scriptkiddies. or more.
Aaaaactually. The spiked variants of fists do more dmg than the non spiked. For no reason
Is that Resident Evil 2 I hear?
If i use ce its just to get the stuff i want fast if i want a quick build lol sometimes i do like to play thru rhp bur do that on ps5
13:10 that would be a bad dragon. Dont believe me google it on your work computer
What should weapons be at RL 80??? Nm lol
Thanks for the content

Ava not Alva?
@@ChevalierdeJohnstone Yup I wanted it to be a nod without it being too obvious
Still sad, there is no truly strong "regen" outside of blessing of the erdtree+blessed dew+ icon shield. Otherwise its basically all lifesteal.
sick riot
Thanks!
Thank you

The tank of all time!
Tbh the rotten build he used is completely available in game.
It’s mainly iron flesh doing the work for you
Ram into a clone of that build in the depths a few times
I notice when Saint uses this build, his opponents will randomly take 1 tick of damage. Anyone know what is causing that?
Do you have a time stamp? I didn’t notice that
@@lt_johnmcclane 22:00
Maybe it's one lf the thorny armir pieces? I haven't checked his armir setup but that's my first guess
@@yeahmemia yes thank you, that must be it. Probably the leg armor
I'm wearing the thorny briar pants
It might be a little meta but Spiralhorn shield does fit the aesthetic. Put those status effects to bed.
👍
Would give a like, but it's on 666 and I don't want to let it be that way.
Hey, do you get hate mail?
Would be strange if they haven't gotten any all these years
Not anymore. I have my PSN set up so that people can't message me. I don't like getting hate mail.
The build is awesome (and prolly a lil busted lol) but its super boring. Passively standing in a circle with slow weapons doesn't seem like its a blast to play.
More 40+ min vids saint
Please
I think it'd be nice if the game prevented you from entering the boss fog until you either die to or kill the invader
Then the invader could just hide and grief people not letting them fight the boss
@lt_johnmcclane true, but some already grief by standing afk on elevator pressure plates. Also, hosts still quit out when things don't go their way anyway. Most invaders want to actually invade, hosts are usually the ones griefing the invader by standing around ganking or afk farming.
