It is said that every time a ruler takes the Darksaber and becomes the Manda'lor, a Hunt is held. The Hunt can be of anything. In the ancient days, the Hunt would be of mythosaurs. During the early days of the Republic, the Hunt could be of Jedi. When Sabine Wren took the Darksaber, she did not follow tradition, and instead abdicated, leaving the Darksaber with Lady Bo-Katan Kryze, better known as Manda'lor the Rebel. This Hunt called for the heads of Imperial generals and admirals.
When meeting the Jedi for the first time, A Republic Citizen would see them as a hero. A soldier would see them as a leader. the Sith would see them as the enemy. To a Mandalorian, they are a worthy challenge.
Yet, because Kryze did NOT earn the right to wield the Darksaber thru honorable combat, the curse of obtaining the blade in an unworthy manner led to the Night of A Thousand Years, which led Mandalore to absolute ruin!
@RUclipsUser 😏 And yet...that's not what happened. Look, it might just be Mandalorian superstition, but see what ACTUALLY happened. Bo-Katan all but CAUSED her world to be destroyed! Her involvement with Death Watch led to their alliance with Maul, that led to the deaths of Pre Vizsla & her own sister. This led to her joining forces with the Republic, which turned into an Imperial occupation. It eventually led to the Night of a Thousand Tears and the utter destruction of Mandalore itself. Whether cursed or not, it's almost as if Kryze HERSELF knows how much she failed her people. Her desire for the darksaber seems almost like a NEED to her, a way to prove to herself that it WASN'T her fault that everything she wanted for her world was ripped away because of her own choices.
