8:30 You missed a very important scene there. Where Light actually intentially talks to L by saying that it's an ''obvious trick'', making it clear that he knows what L is up to. That's why L smirks like that -- he now knows that he is Kira, but can't prove it. It was the start of the entire game of the show.

For future reference, whenever L says he's like 10% sure of something, he means the inverse. So if he says 10, he means 90%. He says 5, he means 95%. As to why he does that, it's because he's a liar and he likes to speak about these numbers out loud so that he can trick those around him that his level of suspicion is low, when it's actually the opposite.

Silver it's not specifically stated in the anime. It's a statement from Obata, one of the creators of the series. You'll most likely find this statement either online or in the book Death Note 13: How to read. That book has not only actual stats on characters, but goes more in depth on their pasts. It even includes L's real name.

The feeling Aaron is having is that you want to see Kira evade and escape from L until the end and then get caught, which I think everyone can agree that it's the fun of the show since Kira is so smart and "cat and mouse" game is so fun, but he is still evil so he should lose. It is a weird feeling haha
I love how you rewound the episode to go back and count the cameras, instead of just, you know, listening to that part again and having Ryuk tell you how many there are :P
Also Ryuk mentions how they probably put a lot of extra cameras in Light's room because they expected him to find at least a few of them. Also he wasn't really trying to distract Light, he's just bored and excited cause he wants to play some video games lol. The scene does look a little weird by making it seem like Ryuk is welcoming Light home, but maybe he just got upstairs ahead of Light, or something. He doesn't HAVE to follow Light around 24/7, but I assume he would, since it's probably more entertaining than sitting in an empty house all day. He might even have been off on his own exploring the human world while Light was at school (cause he did say he found school boring in an earlier episode), and then they just met up later at the house.
They heard him clear, the doubt was if all the cameras he was talking about were in Light's bedroom or if he meant in the whole house.
Except that Ryuk specifically says "There sure are a lot of cameras in this room, I counted 64 in total", so I think it's safe to say that they didn't hear him completely correctly, since they didn't catch whether it was 64 cameras in the room or 64 in total.

Ryuk wasn't distracting him. Light felt like he was being watched and was ignoring him because talking to Ryuk would've made it seem like he's talking to no one. Ryuk was getting annoyed that Light was ignoring him. He even said it.

The lyrics in the song during the potato ship scene were "Kira deus vici canti" which is roughly Latin for "Kira, God, Victory, Rejoice". and its repeated over and over.
The meaning is something closer to "Kira our god has won so rejoice" but i don't know exact phrasing.

Guys, one thing L mentioned in this episode is The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. It's a Death Note manga based on a character who isn't mentioned in the anime but he's mentioned in the manga. L also got his alias from this case. You guys should read it for a livestream or something.

But I think something was lost in the translation here. 64 DEVICES, not cameras, in a HOUSE, is perfectly OK when it comes to severe issues, like terror (and Light can be considered a terrorist here). Again, not going into detail here and what my experience is, and I haven't had any experience for over a decade ... but 64 DEVICES in a home in a situation like this? Absolutely.
And you wouldn't be able to discover a single one of them.
It's never said in the show but in the manga it says that L is 24-25 while Light is 17 at this point in the show ^^

Wasabi is a spicy condiment Calvin, there can't be any Ice-Cream of that flavor. They are eating Matcha Flavor Ice-Cream aka Greentea Ice-Cream. It is very strong green, stronger than Pistachio or any other Green flavor Ice-Cream.

There's something called the 23 day rule for the Death Note: the Death Note can onlyboperate within a 23 day period. Meaning you can't say someone dies next month or next year, the influence won't reach that far, it has to happen within 23 days of writing the name down.

I like that they noticed Light's _mistake._ Light really shouldn't have killed Ray and the Task force, It got rid of the whole investigation team sure, but it brought L that much closer, L being way worse than the whole of Police force at that point.

I NEED them to make a spin-off anime about the BB Murder Cases. I have the storybook and it's so great, it would be fantastic to see. Also, the fanart (and... fanfictions ähm... the fandom seems to have a thing for weird side characters that barely turn up and are from some specific orphanage.. xD) about him are already great, the real deal would be amazing.
