I found a ps3 with rogero 4.46 installed in my brother's house, he kindly gave it to me, but couldn't play tales of xillia because of old firmware. Thanks to you my ps3 modded is up to date ;)
Went from Kmeaw 3.55 to Rebug 4.86.1 lite.... So sketchy. It finished copying the update and my screen went blank, nothing for 20 mins straight. I thought either it switched to rca or I bricked it. I ended up yolo'ing it and hit the power switch and turned it back on. It went through the restore screen and rebooted into rebug. That was a scary experience.
@@MrMario2011 I did format as FAT32. I think it is just my Blu-ray drive going out & likely my HDD as well. I tried multiple USB sticks and all of them would stay stuck on "Checking... Please wait" for hours. Also all inserted discs and even all programs (homebrew and otherwise) load into a frozen black screen, so I'm guessing this was another side effect of the Blu-ray drive issues.
For the new 4.88 update released on 06/01/21 do I just update like this video suggests or do I update officially and then the jailbreak update because I want to go online while I have a jailbreak using psn patch and sen enabler but I have to update now, thanks!

I would like to wipe *everything* and install the latest rebug firmware to start from a clean slate. To do it can I just: 1. Run 'Restore PS3 System' from XMB menu to format HDD & wipe all data 2. Install new firmware with steps described in this video (i hope this tut is still relevant?) Are these 2 steps the correct way to go about it? Will running 'Restore PS3 System' before new firmware install cause any issues?

So I know this doesn't relate to the video but after I jailbreaked my ps3 it got turned off improperly one time, so when I turned it back on again it showed the disclaimer saying that I turned it off improperly and that I should do a scan or whatever so I did and ever since then the multiman tool doesn't work whenever I use it, it just shows a black screen and doesn't respond.

If you have ccapi installed delete it first before updating it or your ps3 is bricked

If you can run homebrew on launch, it's CFW. If your XMB has "Enable HAN" or "Enable HEN" there you go.

Hey try to get ahold of a older update not none of the newer ones...
Make sure your usb is formatted to fat32
Also make sure you did the folders the same way he did
