It only took me three years, but I'm back with another video. A bit different from my last Supernatural video, but hopefully it reaches it's intended audience. I really enjoyed the relationship between Jon and Sansa, the two Stark kids with the least in common being the first to reunite and take back their home is chef's kiss to me. I only wish they could have returned to Winterfell to rule together.
Whether you ship them or not, I think it's evident how much they love each other and are willing to protect each other. Everyone is quick to criticize Sansa for betraying Jon's trust and telling Tyrion the truth, but I saw it as Sansa reaching her own "Love vs Honor/Duty" moment, she chose to forgo her honor as a Stark and break her oath to protect Jon. Echoing back to Sansa falling in love with Joffrey and not seeing him for who he really was, Sansa recognized the danger Jon was putting himself in. If he would have stayed in King's Landing with Daenerys he would have become the same political hostage Sansa was. A beautiful cage is still a cage.
Likewise, I love the parallel between Ned and Jon and both of them choosing to put the love they have for their sisters before their duty to their King/Queen (I don't care that D&D tried to reverse it, that was stupid lmao). Ned sacrificing his honor to protect his sister's son and Jon sacrificing his honor to protect Ned's daughter. It all coming back to a promise.
I also tried to throw in a hint of political!Jon (I'm still lowkey bitter about that)
Now for the obligatory "I love Dany'" disclaimer but this video includes show!Dany and some of the actions she did on the show and that might upset some of you. I find Dany as a character absolutely fascinating and agree that book!Dany and show!Dany are two different characters and I can't wait to see where GRRM takes her story in ASOIAF.

this is everything. you've captured their dynamics, the struggle, the conflict... spot on. I find the relationship between Jon and Sansa to be so fascinating and complex. Adding the supposed love for Dany to the mix. The greatest story of growth, sacrifice and true love. thank you

I kept starting and stopping this project because I wasn't sure if I could do justice to Jon and Sansa's relationship and all the complexities of it in an edit, but the GoT hyperfixation kicked in recently and I was able to finish it. the video is incredible. i love the parallels! there were moments and quotes they both said that i’d never even thought about. and the music choice is spot on - it doesn’t take away from the words, but really adds to the weight of everything jon and sansa went through, both together and apart.
