  • In this video, I will reveal to you what happened in the groundbreaking court case about service dog registration requirements. You will understand why service dogs are not required to be registered or certified. A lower court ruling was overturned, and a service dog handler got the justice she deserved.

Have you ever considered how a service dog can help you, or maybe you already have one? You are invisible no more! This channel is my outreach to the disability community to make people aware that service dogs can help in so many ways. Whether you suffer from CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) or the honeymoon phase of diabetes, service dogs can do tasks you never realized they could do!
Some conditions that service dogs can task for are cystic fibrosis, dysautonomia, pots, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, ASD, cerebral palsy, lupus, Lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, retinitis pigmentosa, ehlers danlos syndrome, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, PTSD and MST, diabetes, hearing impairment, sensory processing disorder, mental health conditions, autism or ASD, diabetes, and epilepsy, just to name a few!
People typically judge us for our invisible disabilities, so I want to spread awareness that just because somebody looks healthy, it doesn't mean they don't need a service dog or handicap parking spot.
I'll keep you informed about the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which the Department of Justice enforces, and the Air Carrier Access Act, which the Department of Transportation enforces. I'll also keep you informed about court rulings and even Supreme Court actions regarding service dogs.
When it comes to disability matters like disability discrimination, I can help guide you in the right direction to help you get the accessible accommodation you are looking for. With a little advocacy, we can learn to master access issues you're struggling with.
And if you are a disabled American veteran or belong to a veteran service organization, I am sure you can find something on my channel to help you. I am a female veteran and one of my goals is to empower female vets. Women veterans frequently get overlooked.
Not just any dog can be trained to become a service dog. It takes a special one to become a full-time working dog, and the service that a service dog provides by mitigating (compensating for) the disabilities of its handler is invaluable. Choosing and training the right dog is only half the battle. Gaining public access, allowed by law, sometimes becomes impossible.
Nevertheless, education is the most effective option. By educating handlers and teaching them to positively educate the public, we can create awareness and accomplish a culture change that improves the lives of every service dog owner in this country.

I am not a lawyer. I am a disabled veteran with almost seven years of experience handling two different service dogs. One of my service dogs was owner-trained, and one was program-trained. Through the Service Dog Channel, I would like to share my experiences, help educate and inform people, and present service dog news, court cases, stories, and interviews that might make it easier for disabled service dog owners to function daily.
