We decided to drop down the diff from our daily shit box for towing diffs, cars and such. We installed LSD conversion in it before 250K Km. As you can see we wasn't quite gentle :)

From my personal experience I can only say the guys from Racing Diffs are exceptional in doing their job.Quality, technical knowledge and mechanical expertise.I highly recommend them.
I have it in my Corsa OPC. Eliminated understeer completely! Awesome!
How does it hold so far?
This kind of value is unprecedented. Love it!
Excellent, thats what I wanted to see.
Svaka cast momci. Steta sto nisam znao za vas kad sam trazio speru za E28 prije nekih 5 godina :)
Made in Serbia!! Good stuff braco
Great video and product from what I can see. Thank you! I wonder if you guys could think about trying another way of selling your product and making more profit while giving the public something they want as well. From my understanding the most intimidating part of all this for the average car owner is the installation of the unit. If you had a system set up where you could have pre-installed LSD conversion diffs in the most popular models of cars and for a price you would sell the whole diff with the unit installed and the owner must give you their old diff in the deal. The price might be something like a total of $800 or maybe it would have to be $1000 and their old Diff then the installing of the diff is done by the owner however they want. That would still save the owner huge money compared to the cost of buying an LSD diff and you could make lots more money. I know it would mean expanding your business but isn't that what business is all about? Just an idea. A good one I'd imagine but that'll be up to you guys.
Thank you for sharing the idea. Much appreciated. 👍🏻
Shipping a whole diff back and forth between Europe and the US sounds very pricey, no?
Especially we you don't have a contract with courier service.
Great review. I need one. I ordered E39 530D limited slip kit, but it was out of stock. Any chance of getting it sometime this year? I live in Europe. I wrote an e-mail a while back regarding your limited slip kit. Cheers!
Not only in stock, it is discounted by 10%. Check this link for 215k set

@@RacingDiffs Just placed the order #2833. I hope I'll receive it soon. Cheers!🤘
@@DonnDIY just got it. You'll get it next week!👍🏻
@@DonnDIY how did it go and how has it been doing for you?
What differential type did you select upon purchasing it? I have a e39 530d manual
Hey there, recently ordered your LSD kit and there is two unreseolved questions :
- On specs it is marked as 60.000km replace for friction discs, and here 200.000 with no wear :
-> 60.000km with agressive street driving, or 200.000+ with "normal driving" ?
- We talk here about friction discs wear,
-> Please what about spiders, lsd ractangle plates, and axle Wear is negligible on this parts ?
Thanks !!
Yes, 60k km aggressive street driving. Spider gear won't wear, only friction discs over time. We made them this way so they couldn't damage gears.
Have this on my e46 daily, was Uber happy with it! Not noisy and comes on progressively
How many kms did you use it for the friction plate to go down 1.4mm? Is it 250,000kms? That’s a lot of km
That's right 👍🏻 glad to hear positive feedback.
explanation of spider gear moving the 2 way piece appears incorrect. pressure from the ring gear drives the pin inside the centre does it not?
Great job guys !!
Im interested in a kit for c55 amg, have u developed one for that?
Thank you, appreciate the compliment! We don't have model for C55, but we might do it in near future.
This is pretty impressive, I want one for my E46 320i (M54B22 engine) - As far as I can see, the kit was still doing the lockup even after 250k km? Sounds great
That's right. If your car is a manual transmission, you need 188k set, the same one as this in the video. If it is automatic trans, than 168k.

@@RacingDiffs Thank you very much!
@@FStan-co8vv Did you ever figure out which diff you had? I was told by BMW that my 320Ci (M54B22) has the 188K diff and it's using the ZF 5HP19 auto trans.
I can confirm that it's 188k.
How many kilometers have you done with this setup so it was able to consume friction plate to 1.4mm?
Hi there. Seems an amazing kit. I have a 1991 Mercedes S124 300td. Would your kit fit my diff and also how much would shipping be to the UK?
Thank you! Im not sure about your model. We have the set for 185mm doff type. Perhaps you can check with some Merc specialists about the fitment. Perhaps your model has 210mm diff.
Would this work if i want to take my car on track days? Not a race car just for casual track days
Yes, it sure will. This is exactly what this kit is for.
does it lock the diff 100% (like welded) ? or what ?
Not at all. It provides 25% progressive lock, ideal for everyday use. The whole point of the product is to avoid welding and to be able to have fun.
Hi, do you make something for the honda dohc d series? The trans code is CG, i know people will put a whole b16 diff into the cg case....
We have sets available for this model. Check the link below.

Hello. I am interested in getting this set, my car is a M54B30 330i with a 3.38 ratio automatic diff swap, which one should I get?
You should get 188k LSD conversion type.👍🏻
Hello Team, just found out about your products, very excited! What diff do I need for e39 1997 528i auto 5hp18 and do you have a store I can come to pickup the diff, greetings from Macedonia!
Hi, you need 188k conversion kit for your car. Write an email to office@racingdiffs.com . We can arrange pickup from the Belgrade office , or we can send it to you as a gift to avoid import fees.
Hello.. I install on my e36 compact small. Case lsd kit..it works very well but now the diff make so hub noise which did not do before...why is this happening? The diff oil i used is motul gear competition 75w140
I have a 1serie e87 118d Manuel, this looks very interesting. Which one do I need? Thank you
We don't have the set available for your model. Sorry to let you down
Hi,nice video. .. Is there a conversion kit for toyota BZ010 differential?... Thanks
its ok just saying remove it with the locking plates but how on earth do you imagine you can get the locking plates back on without a stupid expensive press which most DIYers wont have
Wich one do i need for E60 520i M54b22 (2003)?
That would be 188K diff type.
Thinking about getting this for my e36 318ti compact small case diff I believe can you confirm you sell a product for this car?
LSD conversion kit for suzuki samurai/ Jimny,,,90' model or 2000 models,,,,
I like the idea of these, But I find it hard to believe 250,000 miles and no oil change in diff on an old bmw,,, how many years of testing was that. Hard to believe.
I still want one but my faith is low
This car was driven hard by everyone from our company. Used to transport material, used diffs, to tow race cars and such. It made 100k km per year.
If I send you guys my 335d diff would build it for me? If not , do you have a list of shops in the US that offer the service?
Sure. Drop email to office@racingdiffs.com
Gd day, do you have a LSD conversion like that for Suzuki samurai/jimny & how much, where can i buy???
Hi, unfortunately we don't have the set for Samurai. Sorry to let you down.
How regularity would you need to change the diff oil would it be same as stock and how do these compare to other plate type lsd’s
We recommend oil change every 2 years, like in the brake system. For more sporty usage, more frequently. It is a great substitution for oem plated LSD.
Hi there.
On an E90- 318i, I have developed rear diff noise (metal whining, rattling, howling sort of noise). Thus it has been taken off and is with a recon specialist.
I’m hoping it is just bearings and seals, however I fear also the gears are damaged, no idea why. Just a guess, this makes it unreconditionable as BMW don’t sell these parts for the E90. However, I was told it is very rare the gears go bad inside these diffs, mainly bearings and seals?
Rest assured that bearings and seals are the only problem👍🏻
What was the outcome? What failed? It’s been a year just checking in
@@beartodrift5345 I used to have a 318i e90 (without racingdiffs) its a common problem on the diff itself.
Ball instead of roller bearings. Plus, they are very small.
How long does it take for shipping to the United States?
3-5 working days.
Is any machining required for spider gears when installing the kit in a e36?
Not for spider gears, no. 👍🏻
So do you offer any kind of waranty for your conversion sets?
We do when we are installing. Otherwise we don't know parameters which are crucial for functionality of the set.
For an E39 530d automatic what's the size ?
That would be 215K diff type.👍🏻
None for audi b5 quattro?
Una pregunta, cuando se pone la marcha atrás, también suena como cuando sueldas el diferencial? Porque soldar un diferencial para el día a día es incómodo por eso, aparcar se hace incómodo por ese sonido, vuestro producto lo elimina?
Excellent question. That is actually the whole point of the product. To be able to have fun without sacrificing everyday comfort. It is designed to be smooth for daily usage. It wont make any noise whatsoever.
Hey, which one is suitable for bmw e36 318i M43 year 97 ? Can you also give the product link? Thanks
Sure. You need 168mm conversion kit. Check the link below.

Znaci valjaju? Htio bi ih staviti na f32 440i, mogu bez straha biti?
What kind of kicking ratio do you get? Does it lock the wheels 100%?
For everyday driving in the city, the rubber is not enough.
Does it work the same way as a welded plate in the differential? Or does it work like a 60/40, 70/30 type lock?
It provides 25% progressive lock. Ideal for everyday usage
which LSD kit i need for my 2002 330i ? 188K ? regards from germany
That's right , 188k is for your car.
Hello, i have a BMW e61 525 m57d25 2005 year, what a type lsd i can buy?

I don´t understand the difference between a LSD kit (costing about 1500€) and these LSD conversion set (costing only 200€)..?
I have an BMW E91 (Motor M47) Manual Gear and i would like to drift..
right now i have an normal serial open diff.. I don´t want to weld my diff because it could break.. What exactly do i need to have a compromis between drifting fun and long life healthy driving.. for cheap money..?
Thank you very much in advance!
Are you planning to use a car on street or track?
@@RacingDiffs Normal Street.. but sometimes i would like to drift some curves and donuts and have a little fun :)
That's what the conversion set is for👍🏻
Hi. Where can I find an info about my W210 E300TD 2.87 differential size? Will your Mercedes kit on the website fit my 2.87 differential?
That's probably a 210mm differential. Our current set won't fit. But check with some Merc experts just to be 100% sure.
Very Nice! Have you test it on high power engine? I have a e46 swap ls 6.0 making 550hp is it gonna blow it or it should work?
Thank’s
For such application, better do this.

Yes, you are right. It is correct. 👍🏻
Is this just to block the diff instead of welding it?
Or a true LSD?
Not at all. The whole point of the product is to avoid welding and still to be able to have fun with your car. It provides 25% progressive lock, ideal for everyday usage.

How much horsepower can it take before its to much with 188k
We tested it on 300hp and 500nm.
Is there any stronger springs available to help locking
There are no stronger than these.
Do you offer lsd conversion installation at your shop if I send you my e46 differential?
Yes we do. But the problem is, we are based in Serbia, so I'm afraid that transportation costs will exceed the value of work.
Can I send a diff for you to assemble the conversion set? How much would that cost?
Depends on your location. If you're not close, shipping cost may exceed the value of the job.
Got any insert kit for Mitsubishi Lancer 08, gearbox number F5MBB-1-BBY ?
No sorry.
Hello, do i need to do some modification for an e36 188mm 3.15 diff or it is plug and play?
You just need to shorten flanges by 4mm each. This can be done with a hand grinder, and it doesn't affect normal functionality. This means that if you want to go back to an open diff again, you won't have any trouble whatsoever.
@@RacingDiffs ok thanks for your answer
So will this be suitable for track use?
It is designed mostly to be used on street and occasional track use. 👍🏻
Doo u have it for a 2000 toyota celica gts ??
Not yet, but it will be soon.
How long does it take to make one for that model ??
@@joseginorio6013 we have to finish some of opened projects first. So roughly, 6 months.
E46 320d uses regular 188 or 188K?
It has 188k diff type.
Is This is available for f30 ix or only rwd
It is available for the most models. Please send your VIN to office@racingdiffs.com so guys from the support can check 👍🏻
Have you lsd set for e46 320ci 2001 170 hp??
Yes we do. And now they are on sales 20% off. Visit WWW.RACINGDIFFS.COM for more info.
How much abuse would it take in an is200, on drifting , and donuts 🤔
IS200 diff is the most compact diff for LSD conversion kit. Space between gears is very large, and materials used for factory components are great, so I wouldn't worry about longevity in Lexus.
@@RacingDiffs ok thanks

Yes, it will. When you strip the diff from the car, you need less than 1h for the installation.
@@RacingDiffs thanks very much

www.racingdiffs.com/collections/lsd-conversion-sets/products/bmw-progressive-lsd-conversion-set
Would one of these survive with 500lbft of torque?
It sure will. You need to use Motul Gear Competition 75w140 oil. Makes tremendous difference.
@@RacingDiffs What is the area of the clutch plates compared to normal ones?
It is twice smaller. This is why it can't achieve more than 25% lock.
my fear and question is how much abuse can these take before breaking apart in the diff and taking the gears with it too, will it resist clutch kicks and constant stress?
It can take whatever you can put to it as long as you staybon the street.
@@RacingDiffs What happens with the surface between the back of the gears and the carrier body? It receives all the pressure there. Doesn´t that surface end up galled? I have a 01X FWD only Audi Transmission. I don´t see any option for those diffs, Do they have any particular hindrance for not receiving this progressive system?
Good question. That is why we don't make such kits for VW/AUDI as they have some plastic sphere there which can't take the load. Most of the diffs with flat ledges have anti-frictional shims which can handle the additional pressure.
@@RacingDiffs Oh I see now. I will study that part and see if I can figure out a solution. Thank You!
@@RacingDiffs Can you elaborate? What do you mean by "as long as you stay on the street"? What if it hits a bunch of potholes, what if I take it to the track :D or if I take it to a dirt/gravel road (528i E39)
