  • Here is a quick overview of my new paper shredder from Amazon. I wanted a small micro-cut shredder and this one fit the bill. It is important to oil your paper shredder every time you empty the basket. Over for micro-cut shredder on extended use, oil every 15 minutes.

    Update: Look like Amazon no longer have that shredder in stock. I see this similar one. It is also a micro cut shredder. amzn.to/3q0u2VG

    This is an all-purpose shredder which is very handy.

    Head down to your local bicycle shop and pick up some chain lubricant. That's going to last you a LONG time of lubrication. Also, running sheets of aluminum foil through your shredder will keep it nice and sharp. My shredder has been going strong for the last 17 years (bought at Staples in 2005), and does micro-cross-cut (about the size of a grain of rice, MUUUCH smaller than today's micro-cut shredders).

      Hello. Yes, the shredder is still work. I oil when I am half way up the basket and again when I empty the shredder. I also oil when I shred a lot in one sitting.

    What about cardboard

      Unfortunately, it won’t be able to handle cardboard. This shredded was only rated for 6-8 sheets of paper.

    How come Fellowes doesn't have a screw on cap for their oil if the cap comes off the oil will leak all over the place .

    • @KPhan
      @KPhan  4 года назад

      Sadly it’s one of those click on cap. As long as you store it upright, it will be fine. It does take some effort to pull off the cap. Even if it tip over, the cap won’t easily come off.

      @@KPhan The cap won't easily come off, but it leaks, bc I found my bottle on its side and it had leaked. Also, the Fellowes papershredder says to oil it with any vegetable oil, and Fellowes said they use canola. You have a huge bottle. Next time buy a small bottle of canola oil at the market and save money; it also goes rancid and smells horrible, so buy small bottle.

      @@cyc7lops Thanks for the heads up. Too late...I barely used the oil bottle so it still quite full. At this rate, it will late me a lifetime lol.
